Jannet El Firdaus

Love this attar so much! I purchased it after going through 7 flasks of Haramain Firdous, which I love. And knowing that Haramain's is an interpretation of this juice, which is the original and a classic from the 70's I had to try it. And it's gorgeous!. Some people here said that Swiss Arabian Firdaus leans more in the masculine side than Haramain Firdous and that it's a little bit harsh. I don't think so. The main difference between these two wonderful perfumes is that this one is much heavier on the cinnamon, hotter and somehow a little bit sweeter. This attar is also more balsamic and potent. Swiss Arabian Firdaus seems to me more "oriental" and floral than its counterpart, which I think is lighter and much more soapy and clean. But yes the two are very similar. I find these two attars completely unisex, very hippie and calming, but Swiss Arabian Firdaus is darker. Where Haramain Firdous makes me think of fresh hay and valleys, this one reminds me of dark forests after the rain. Really I don't understand why some people say that this juice is harsher than Haramain Firdous, I find the cinnamon in this one gives it a warm, velvety quality the Haramain lacks in favor or a fresher feeling. I can't recommend this and Haramain Firdous enough: both perfumes lift my spirits, cheer me up and make me feel clean and happy as if I where trekking a path in the most beautiful greenery. Don't overlook these jewels because they are cheap, these are masterpieces that put expensive designer fragance to shame and as a bonus you won't find many people wearing them around you. If you love a good Chypre-fougere go for them, you won't find many as good and durable as these two. And no, it's not a men's scent, this is totally unisex, meaning you won't smell of barbershop or after shave: this is a genderless scent of nature and herbs. Anyway who cares about gendered scents? Just wear what you love!

Fresh-spicy & Green HERBAL ROSE SOAP. This alcohol-free, vegan, attar oil has a bombastic opening of herbal rose with soapy, soft-spicy and green nuances. The lactonic accord comes in the form of a soapy lather through a fairly linear unfolding, although the rose increases throughout the heart evincing a rose-scented French-milled soap. Into the long drydown a grittiness emerges with chai, the dregs of bourbon vanilla and oakmoss (not listed) that bites if you get too close. My first impression of this was Irish Spring soap with an added perfume-y quality, but I notice now that rose is ever present being the velvety substance that projects the rest. Overall: Excellent performance in a little attar, with a beautiful spicy, soapy, herbal rose scent profile. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

Exquisite. Smells like grass and chai spices. Very much a green perfume with a beautifully done spice twist in the background. Definitely more for MENASA women. i believe this is a traditional scent from South Asia. What this brings to mind is a beautiful traditional Indian style garden, and it carries a really beautiful and specific vibe with it. Found the 95ml version on Amazon for anyone looking for good value. About 20-25£ I can't remember. Silage and longevity is good on this oil, which is find rare on a lot of perfume oils. Lasts all day. A timeless classic. I am in love with this. Expertly done.

I first tried a similar perfume from another company, but ordered this after reading reviews for it. While the first one was nice, it doesn't compare to this. I'm a big fan of green scents, and this is very green. It starts with sharp herbal and grassy notes, then becomes just a little sweeter as the lotus, gardenia and other florals appear but it isn't a sweet fragrance by any means. The cinnamon, which isn't really discernible serves to add a touch of warmth which is just amazing. I'm looking forward to trying other scents from this company!

Rich, full-on green, lathered soap. Works well at any time of day and in all seasons and weathers. It may not be fashionable, but what isn't there to love about smelling clean? Epic projection that builds over the first thirty or so minutes and lasts for a good twelve hours. Just four fingerprint dabs of the oil to your face will keep you noticed all day. Compared to the Nemat alternative this smells greener, purer, calmer and less woody. I love both and you can't go wrong with either.

OMG, this is not synthetic and disgusting like the Al Haramains I own. This is powerhouse Middle Eastern attar. A little goes a looooong way. Amazing. This smells similar to some of the best Caron's and vintages that I own. This is all grassy, rosy, soapy goodness but strong, projecting, long lasting and CHEAP. $10. Amazed.

Love to put this on my Pillow. Lovely scent to fall asleep to.

The definition of green perfume.

I actually first-encountered one of the many knock-offs of this fragrance from an Indian itr-wala (which was a bit different from the original, but quite well-done- but that's another story). I decided afterward to buy a bottle of the original. I wasn't taken with it at first. I applied it in amounts I usually use for CPOs: a drop on each wrist, one on each inner-elbow, one on each side of my neck, 2-3 on my chest. BIG mistake. With this frag, I was absolutely overwhelmed by the aldehydes... and decided then and there to relegate the bottle to the "needs-a-new-home" stash. I just couldn't understand all the hype about this classic- how it has been so admired to be imitated endlessly, and be still in production since- when, 1970-72? It made no sense. Then I read Nicolas V's comment below... and decided to have another go at it. One drop. Rub on hands, then apply. Now I found it enchanting! My skin was radiating a garden after rain, full of green things and cool floral-notes- and... grapefruit peel? It leans masculine to my nose, as it seems to have the structure of an aromatic fougere... but I can see some women loving and wearing this too. But this is some powerful stuff, folks. At MOST I would use 2 drops in a single application- no more than that! And of course I'm keeping my bottle, and have moved it to a place of honor in my collection. OK. Three drops.

There are Perfume Oils available by Same Name by Different Perfume Manufacturers but this one by Swiss Arabian is Thick & Best made to Suit its Name Jannet El Firdaus - Meaning (Best Paradise). It smells Green Trees & Fresh and takes you to Wonderland if you try to imagine its smell. Oil Version is Best and I have seen this bottle from last 20 years since I was a Child as My Grandfather liked it V Much & used to apply it V Often along with his Other Attars (Perfume Oil). I have seen Spray Version of Jannet El Firdaus here in Dubai. I think it can be no comparison with Oil Form. This Perfume Oil can be Worn Comfortable by Both Sexes but i would advise to try First before Buying as Someone may not like Green Dark Lush Soft Forest Smell which is Exotic. Some may Love this and Some may not Like it as the Smell is V Different than Others. I has a Class of Its Own. The Price of this Perfume is V Less to Own but Smell like Top Class Perfume. It stood by Time & its Smells the Same as it used to Smell Many Years Ago. Longevity & Projection is Excellent. Nice Simple Bottle & Presentation. My Rating is 4.0 out of 5

Named after the highest level of paradise in the Muslim faith, this classic attar is a mainstay in the South Asian community. Very strong and very easy to over-apply, it can turn into a cloying nightmare with the quickness. A super-green and very "perfumy" scent, Jannat al-Firdaws is a lesson in application. The best way I have ever experienced this oil is applied directly after a shower. Take a drop--no more--rub your hands together and apply it to your skin and hair before getting dressed. Then, take those same hands--don't reapply--and wipe them over your clothes. It might not seem like enough, but this one is mega powerful. Applied correctly, it smells wonderfully and spiritually clean, green, and floral. It is not my favorite, but it has a time and place, and when used lightly, is quite nice. 2.5/5

First impressions - washing up liquid. But I get that with all Jannet El Firdous scents. Then it settles down into a soapy, clean, green scent. It's very warm. It's very well blended so you can't easily pick out the notes except green grass and herbal notes though the spice comes through as well, I think it might be the cinnamon. I hoped it might be overwhelmingly strong but it's not. The sillage starts off heavy but then it settles down to a skin scent. I can't invisage any particular type of person wearing this, normally I get a picture of a person when I smell a scent. It won't make you seem rich or seem poor, classy or not-so-classy. It just smells like cleanliness so you will seem like a clean person when you wear this.

My oh my oh my - this is a floral bomb! It's fresh, it's green, and it's very floral. Not powdery sweet floral, fresh green floral. I've heard dish detergent, I've heard household soap, and yes, to a point, some might smell that. Not me. If you have cleaning products that smell this good you're very lucky. This is just clean good quality oil. Be careful to only apply a small amount though, just until you know what your skin can take. I put a couple of good rubs either side of my neck and 12 hours later it was still there and people were very aware when I entered the room. In cold weather you may get away with wearing a little more.

This begins very green, and the cinnamon and Oriental side show up as it dries down. Longevity and sillage are both very good. It smells to me like a lovely soap. The main reason I wanted to add a review is to state this fragrance is so incredibly powerful, it could last for years. Indeed, I can rub enough onto my wrist from the plastic stob without even opening the bottle. That seemed something worth mentioning!

Very rich perfume. It's similar to Nemat's, but without the "hippy" sandalwood base, however it is far more masculine and I wouldn't reccoment it for women at all. The name "Jannat ul firdaus" says it all: The scent of Heaven. Very green like a beautiful garden full of fragrant flowers, just after the late afternoon rain on a hot day.

'Denim' (1976- four years after this one)- originally by Lever Bros., and now owned/produced by Canter, Italy- smells VERY similar to Jannat al Firdous- and I say this as the owner of many aromatic fougeres. So, if you've ever smelt that one, you'll have an idea of what Jannat al Firdous is about.

Smells just like Nabeel’s ‘Jannet El Baqui Original’ but not quite as good.

Old school refreshing scent. Opening is very nice but in the dry down it gives a cheap flavour. Not worthy for wearing more than 1 hour.

I dont like, smells like a cheaper soap

When I was a child my mother used to get these huge bars of green carbolic soap and sometimes she would give me a bar to carve. This stuff just stinks of that soap. Disgusting. Just reminds me of laundry day all over the estate and beyond and not in a good way and why anyone would want to smell like it on purpose is beyond the realms of my sensibility.

I purchased this as it seems to be recognized as the "original" of its type of scent. If that's true, then this may be the most copied composition of all time. A number of soaps come to mind, like the original Dove soap bar. At the end of the day, it instantly registers to me as rich creamy soap. This oil is unbelievably strong, it's actually difficult to use and would benefit from some form of dilution. I also have a big problem with the cap leaking, if the bottle is inverted in any way, knocked over is worst, but even simply for application, the oil collects in the cap and will slowly trickle out for days so it must stay in my bathroom where the leaky oil actually dissolved the caulk, thank goodness the first leak on my furniture was spotted (smelled) promptly. it's a poorly designed bottle and that's worth knowing. I wear this lately when I go hiking as it's potency and durability work well for that. All that said, it's hard to single out notes, does smell like a bouquet of gardenia and rose, and lightly of moist humus, the spiciness is sharp, not warm, like nutmeg and cardamom, very garden like, but very strongly of some form of soapy musk accord. I won't be buying again, while its fresh and clean smelling, I don't find it too exciting. If you do want to smell like bar soap all day, then this would be perfect. It's smoother than many other similar oils.

Lovely green floral. The initial burst of green sharpness followed by juicy sweetness needs time to develop into something deeper and warmer. I was very sparing with my application so this soon started to sit close my skin. I've checked on the list above but for me there is no cinnamon, I'm getting a faded dusty musk rose and something waxy perhaps Gardenia? Where the juice is more concentrated the green-ness remains the over-riding hit, however where its less potent it's soft and almost powdery (the ingredients on my bottle are written in Arabic so I'm unable to check), but it's not like Lush's Death and Decay. The box, which carries the reside, smells divine, very dry peppery musk rose and for some reason I'm getting frankincense which I don't think is in the list of ingredients. The initial sillage is enormous but this isn't long lived and soon fades, with the juice sitting just on the skin. The longevity seems to dip in out for me, this may be weather related. My small bottle has last a couple of years and whilst I probably wont buy another I still think this is a nice occasional scent.

Initially right off the bottle this smells like a mistake. However, don't whiff too hard and its more pleasing. Take a dab and spread rubbing into while you radiate the warmth of your skin, and then you get it. It's a Green, grass, citrus and then drying to candied lemon candies with a rich undertone of musk. Like eating a toffee that's been kept in a bag that once held a musk satchel for really long prior. It lasts forever, and you know you're wearing something pure when its on you. Yes, the versions are many but the one from Al Haramain is a close second in goodness to this. Recommend! Definitely do :) Edit: As I'm not good on notes, as of today, 7 hrs 20 mins into wearing this, the projection is almost nil, but the smell is close to skin and like a mileau of fauna, almonds, and walnut kernels wrapped in a old, packed away cashmere shawl. Can't be precise, but it sits very close and softly to skin but is pleasantly more sharp and intense on my shirt collar.

All the reviews below are exactly right: this is a superpowerful fragrance that must be applied with the utmost caution. I find that even one drop is too much. A drip the size of the tip of a toothpick is more appropriate. Like the other reviewers said, this smells like a huge green floral fougere. It does lean a bit on the masculine side, but a woman can easily wear this. It smells like torn green grass and moss, with lemon and white flowers mixed in. There are some dry herbs and spicy notes in there too to give it some teeth. If you like oakmoss, you will love this. It's loaded with it. I like this, but I don't quite love it. The white floral note is quite strong, and very heady. I wish it were a little more restrained. Sillage is nuclear, and staying power is too. Don't think you'll be able to get the scent off your skin until at least 24 hours, and with soap, water and a scrub brush. MY RATING: 8/10

This to me is the smell of lush Mediterranean gardens in late-Spring... At midnight. Herb gardens and grass dripping with moon dew. Gardinia, Rose, Jasmine, Frangipan, almond blossoms all at their peak. This layers like nothing else on Earth, but I think it's best to wear all by itself. I feel sorry for those who cannot wear it as my own body chemistry allows me to be fairly liberal. I don't get any harsh aldehydes, just sweet and natural loveliness. I could not thank fragrantica enough for allowing me to discover this divine and economical masterpiece.

Imagine you took a stroll with your beloved in the nearest park, you passed the beautiful red roses and somewhere between the Jasmin and lotus blooms you had a quick but intense fumble in the grass. After that you had a nice cuppa to recover from the intensity of it keeping that red rose as a reminder of this encounter. This is what this green juice (literally) brings to mind. Green, clean, soapy. I get no cinammon which is a pity as I think it would have worked well overall. A very nice, summery oil, aromatic and Intense. Simply gorgeous!

Long ago in Northern India they used to sell a locally made oil which was supposed to provide relief in joints pain or muscle pain named Noorani Tel, this perfume reminds a lot of that oil. I bought it on ebay. Can't imagine how Swiss Arabian sense of smell can be this awful. Yes, it it is very similar to Firdous, which as well is made by every Indian attar maker. This makes Firdous look better which again is not very pleasant. Score 2/5.

Jannet El Firdaus have the right name for this perfume oil and no need any comment on this such a beautiful scent that last very very veeeeeery long in the same tempo...I find out when i put on my hand 2 drops of this oil then mix with paco rabanne 1 million absolutely gold just one spray it gives you scent that will make you crazy sniffing your hand every sec. ... Just love this perfume oil, Scent 1010 Sillage 10/10 Longevity 1010

This is a vetiver perfume, it's accented with a touch of rose otto and clove and is given a soapy character with a heavy dose of aldehydes. Vetiver, citronellol, geranium, euegenol, aldehyde c12 Lauric, hedione, Musk

This is a wonderful scent, I purchased 2 bottle of this. This is also in between a-kind-of Ma Griffe and Alyssa Ashley Musk by Houbigant. This is a feel-good fragrance of back-in-the-day(70's musk). I love it!

MEH, too sharp and synthetic i did not like it at all, it’s too green. i don't smell any florals at all.

After a few hours I get Nivea cream the one in the blue packaging. Nice and nostalgic
