Kahaia

This smells just fabulous out of the bottle; rich white flowers, tropical tiare, cocoa butter and warm vanilla. The cocoa butter is definitely among the strongest notes here. I have yves rocher monoi de Tahiti body oil, and love it, as well as aloha tiare, so I was thrilled to find this cheapie. BUT on my skin this becomes all praline and vanilla and the white flowers fly away within 15 minutes leaving a scent reminiscent of Mugler’s Angel. NOOoooo!!!! After an hour all I smell is this thin fat-free diabetic chocolate aroma. Is there really no patchouli in this? I don’t smell the citrus or pink pepper at all. I will spray on clothes and not my skin. Btw, I have the nuxe body oil and this doesn’t smell like that at all imo. Edit: I now own terracotta and it smells nothing like this! Terracotta has a soft milky creamy vibe- this is MUCH more assertive, concentrated and chocolatey. Edit: guess what, I moved to North Carolina this year and after my first spring I can tell you that this smells exactly like the heavenly clouds of star jasmine vines that are blooming everywhere. I had no idea jasmine could be so chocolatey! Wow. Like has changed to love! When I spray it on my clothes I can get 6 hours wear.

I LOVE THIS. I can't believe what an incredible score this was for $9 at TJ Maxx. If I found it being sold there, does that mean The Body Shop has discontinued it maybe? This smells exactly like the tiare bushes that grew outside my room on my Hawaii trip. Every morning I would go outside to stick my nose in those white, gardenia-like tropical blooms and this Body Shop Kahaia has that same milky, creamy, marshmallowy white floral goodness I remember from the island. I have already received a compliment on it from a coworker who usually does not comment on my perfume choices. She's a bit shy to talk so giving the compliment must mean she loves it. Another coworker says it smells exactly like the lobby of the Disney Grand Floridian hotel. Kahaia makes me want to seek out more tiare focused scents. I really like that there is no coconut here, which really allows the creaminess of the flower to shine. And headspace technology! How cool is that? Capturing the air around a living flower without picking it? Amazing.

Congratulations TBS, this IS a gem! It's from the same family as my beloved Guerlain Terracotta Le Parfum and Yves Rocher Monoi de Tahiti. Even better, dare I say, due to the absence of coconut! See, coconut is a tricky note. It can easily turn plasticy and cloying. What TBS did here was to replace the typical coconut in these summer-in-a-bottle white florals with praline and vanilla. Now, I'm biased because I love myself some powdery vanillin, but this unexpected twist worked. so. well. Vanilla does not steal the show. Au contraire, helps keeping this a sweet floral! Jasmine is also tamed here. It's summery and fresh, not soapy. As the hours go by, it turns more dripping honey-like and less floral. I've found the longevity to be around 4 hours. Strong for a TBS frag. If you're a fan of these scents, and The Polynesian Island Tiare disappointed you by its ongoing crispy greenness, make sure to give this a try!

I went today to the body shop and found the little bottles of this collection hidden in a corner. I must say the body shop exceeded my craziest expectations! This is heavenly! Actually, almost all of the fragrances from this collection are to die for, but this one is the best. If i had to limit myself to only one smell for the rest of my life, it would be this. It smells so creamy, so natural, so sensual, relaxing and luminous. Kahaia is so luxurious, a queen would wear it. It smells very much like Nuxe huile prodigieuse, but better, i simply can't believe my nose. This one goes asap to my want list. I hope the body shop doesn't discontinues it before i can't put my hands on it. Sillage is close to the skin, can't talk about longevity yet. This is a must try for every white floral fan. I mean...They discontinue an amazing, original scent (and a collection) like this, but release TikTok hyped, Cheirosa copycats. No wonder the business has been going downward. This was my most complimented perfume ever. Everything I love about a floral perfume: Full, white and creamy, lush flowers with just enough sweetness. So warm, feminine and divine. Sadly, none of the "Remind me of" scents comes close to this for me. They lack the ambery depth of this perfume; they are either too tropical due to coconut, too bubblegummy due to tuberose, or too sweet. I don't dare use what I have left of this gem... And it breaks my heart. They brought the Spa of the World Series back, though, so I'm hoping the same for this collection.

A true gem. It lives up every expectation I have of a white flora fragrance but only lack one thing, you tone down the vanilla and you'll get the pure embodiment of white flowers. Tiare, jasmine, gardenia, a little dose of tuberose and all exotic stuff blended here. Like it's juice color, this fragrance hold so much things inside. It blooms upon inside you. An olfactory realness. I cherish this one bottle of mine I have. I love this. If you can get it near you, grab it immediately and you won't regret it. Kahaia is my favorite one from this line and this line consists of five amazing fragrances. Such a shame they're discontinued.

I love this scent! I decided to buy it without trying it after reading a few reviews, and following my love for exotic flowers like tiarè. This is definitely a very fresh and creamy fragrance that would work wonders in summer, but still be a good winter player thanks to its luminous notes. Vanilla is definitely the protagonist, however the white flower scent sticks around for quite a while, just like loyal sidekicks! Recommended if you like sun oils and coconut but are looking for something more polished and classy

A magnificent, natural-smelling white flowers bouquet. I feel like I'm having a walk in a beautiful neighborhood on a tropical island, and I'm surrounded by blooming jasmine and tiare bushes. I've never experienced the gourmand dry down because this short-lived perfume remained a white flower bouquet from start to end, but it was a beautiful one. I felt like the cutest, happiest thing while smelling like this in my baby blue summer dress.

A fantastic, and very different white floral, initially I thought a similar vibe to Modern Muse, but I was wrong, this is all together different, a white floral yes, but the garden these came from is somewhere far afield. The packaging is excellent, and the performance is very good indeed. The whole line has real quality, hard to pick a favourite. Excellent value also.

This fragrance is so nice. It's both floral and tropical, and it is really good quality. It's smells like the finest sunscreen at the beach. The taire flower is gorgeous in this fragrance. I'm a man, and I love this smell. I usually wear this right after I take a shower because I'm a sucker for florals. I highly recommend you find this fragrance for yourself.

FIRST OF ALL I NEED TO STOP MYSELF TO SNIFF MY BODY AFTER SPRAY THIS GEM. I mean this is soooooo good. I blind bought this one and thank God I love it. Somehow it smells like olive body mist that I used to have. It's mature, flowery, feminine. It lasts 3-4 hours on my body. BUT, one night I sprayed it on my clothes and could smell it on the next evening.

I'm an outlier here. I can appreciate the quality of this perfume, but it is just too sharp and strong for me. It very much reminds of Roberto Cavalli's Just Cavalli, both of which feature tiare. Just Cavalli is also a fairly strong scent, but for me, it is not as sharp and is creamier. I enjoy it much more than this one.

I found this for $9 at Marshall’s and blind purchased. OMG! Best blind but ever! This is a gorgeous tiare! Very much reminds me of being on a Hawaiian beach at sunset. It smells WAY more expensive than it is and if I had tested it beforehand, I’d have paid much more for it. Super happy with this purchase.

It reminds me of Gucci Bloom! It is a really nice jasmine-y scent which is a bit tropical. Unfortunately it does not last long and fades to a skin scent after about two hours leaving behind a vanilla/ambery scent.

Very sweet heavenly tiare flower with a little sneeze of pepper. It's that creamy tropical tiare that makes your teeth ache. I love it.

I don't think I ever smelled something so heavenly.

A lovely, multifaceted, sweet and exotic floral. A hint of rubbery tuberose and soap-bubble like cleanliness in the opening, blended with a slight fruity note, lots of hypnotic white florals, vanilla and a nutty, not too overwhelming praline. Kahaia has a creamy, oily feel to it, like some luscious body oil made of tiaré and other tropical flowers. It smells very sensual and feminine. The development in the drydown is a typical progression from floral and fresh to vanillic and warm. Many have compared another fragrance from this line, Nigritella, to Dior Hypnotic Poison. I think this has some traces of HP, too, mainly the rubber-like note in the opening combined with the vanilla. I was also reminded of Keiko Mecheri Datura Blanche, which is less well-known but one of my favorites. But in the end, Kahaia isn't a dupe for anything and stands on its own feet. The Elixirs of Nature collection is the most expensive line from The Body Shop, but it's still quite affordable, especially with the discount codes TBS puts out often. And this is more complex than most of their other scents. Kahaia smells like summer, it's best in mild to warm weather and still works in 30°+ temperatures.

My impression of this scent is very good. I like it even better than the Swietenia perfume from the same line. It's sweet, but in a modest way, creamy and floral just right amount. The best part is the praline note which is suited to other notes remarkably well. The scent is floral and powdery, but you can sense the edible praline note, without it being too overwhelming like it usually is. This perfume would be perfect for a warm sunny day, a possible beach scent, tropical and dreamy.
