Leather Iris

Sampling Theorodos Kalotinis Leather Iris, an aptly-named blend in the Golden Secret Collection in extrait concentration. It does a very good job blending iris, which can sometimes be a bit sharp/heady/powdery, and leather, which I generally like but I can sometimes run a bit animalic. The result is a pretty smooth blend that is not really sharp at all, like a smooth baseball glove / leather jacket meeting orris butter. This is among my very favorite releases of the house that I’ve tried so far, right up there with Coffee Break and Mentor, expertly put together. I love the balance of it, as it has healthy doses of leather and iris but is not overwhelmingly either, and is surprisingly easy to wear, while performing pretty well. Leather Iris is priced at 150 euros for 50ml, the same as the rest of the Golden Secret Collection but nonetheless a big jump from the EDP collection, which is priced at 45 euros for 50ml. 8 out of 10

This is not for everybody! This is a standout from many of the popular leather fragrances available including Tom Fords offerings. This is bold, natural smelling and incredibly high quality. It hasn't been mentioned but behind the luxurious leather I get wafts of a smokey Petey scotch whisky. I could imagine Mickey Rourke wearing this out. I sampled first and bought a bottle immediately. Very underated from the house. 9/10

This fragrance is literally what the name says: iris plus leather. In a sense it smells like wood varnish. I can't decide if I should wear this dressed up in a suit or with a leather jacket. I think both definitely work, but it's NOT for shorts and a t-shirt. I don't find it to be as long lasting or loud as I would like, but the quality of the smell is fantastic.

This might be the best iris-leather/suede combo in the market. The ingredients this house uses are of the highest quality. The smell to me is buttery suede and powdery iris (in this order). Somehow the first fragrance which came to mind when I sprayed this one was Silky Woods. It has the same silky buttery suede/leather scent to me.

Extremely versatile, you can easily rock this in the summer , even with the leather note, very good perfume, makes you want to smell more. At first the leather is kinda smoky and intense but at the drydown the iris blends perfectly and the result is divine

This smells like a leather couch!!! 10/10.

This was a blind buy, as TK is a rather gifted perfumer. Iris is perceptible only during the opening: After a few minutes it is fully melted/smelted into the leather accord (TK's présentation of his juice is rather accurate). As Iris progressively vanishes, the leather accord over the hours moves from suede to woody-animalic, illustrating the difficulties a perfumer can have with these long-lasting synthetic ingrédients. Globally, a nice juice for leather fans, but nothing compares with Louis Vuitton's short lived & regretted "Dans la Peau" where the leather note was not a synthetic accord but from infusion of leftovers of real leather from their bag factories ! Still, 8 out of 10, as it nicely approaches the real thing !

This is definitely a pretty photorealistic leather scent. I can appreciate a good leather scent, but maybe a predominantly flower-leather combination isn't for me. I find myself enjoying fruity leathers more, this definitely reminded me of the inside of a shoe. When it comes to leather, I like it more "leather jacket" or "brand new car." This was a bit too fuzzy and warm for me. I can see it as unisex, but I don't really envision anyone wearing this outside of a specialty leather shoe store. The meanest way for me to describe it... it's a bit musty. Like a library basement when too many students are gathered in it on a summer day with suede flats and leather bags very unfortunately everywhere, humid basement scent, and an added dose of girls wearing flowery perfume. Don't get me wrong, the perfume is well blended and all, but the scent imagery is just not for me. The leather is a little much for me.

Meh i don't like the scent of this. I am surprised that are people that like this. Lacks performance and even if it performed well i would not like it because of the smell.

Veeery alcoholic and artificial leather I feel sick smelling it

This Kalotinis extract is beautiful, I really liked it and it's exactly the kind of fragrances I like to wear. In short, I love leather (and here it feels and is really realistic), which is predominant and slightly softened by a very, very soft Iris. Really pleasant, I would wear it all year round with great pleasure. Suitable for a strong woman, on a man it is truly charming and elegant.

This is phenomenal. What a leather scent, this is exactly within that boundary of too much, or too little -- just right. The iris used is a bit damp, very pleasant and enough powdery nuance exists to make it pleasant. Opulent leather is present throughout the life of the fragrance, and it lasts a great deal longer on your collar, or cuff. 8.5/10

This was a woody-rooty leather, I’m sure there was some tamed, non-moist vetiver in this. I did, however, NOT detect a trace of iris in this, which was a pity, because that’s why I tried it out. Other than that, it was a touch too abrasive and never settled enough for me...
