D'OR

This one intrigued me, I ordered the discovery set this spring because I wanted to smell this one. On the blotter it smelled like a tall pine tree, its branches caressing you and holding you before it serves you its sweet syrup in a crystal conac glass. I was hooked. When I tried it on myself for the first time I smelled like dry burnt hay? The pinewood that I so desperatly wanted a hug from, was nowhere in sight and I was standing alone out in a dry field that slowly were set ablaze. Then I stumbled upon a bee hive, and I pulled up one of the frames and dragged my finger over the sweet wax-y surface. And then they were there again, the pine trees, but the fire had reached them making the scent around me slighly smoky, woody and sweet. When I woke up from my daydream I was standing in front of a bonfire, wearing a cozy wool sweater, drinking an herbal tea with a lots of honey, and watching as the twilight conquered the day. After a while in the drydown of this, something really beautiful emerges. Something herbal and almost icy. It makes me forget that I tought it was strong and overpowering in the beginning. This drydown is how I imagined this perfume to smell. A sweet, slightly gourmand woody honey with just a sprinkle of spice and nature. I am not really one for gourmands, but this honey makes me rethink that. Unfortunately the cup of tea and honey is soon gone, and I am left in the warm aftermath of the bonfire, and warm dry hay. Still, a cold breeze is dancing over my face, and all I want to, is to submerge myself in the remains of the bonfire, just to taste that honey again. As I already have hinted at, this is a remarkable niche, totally unisex, and offering a late summer experience. It is long lasting, and have a strong sillage, it really owns a room. My mother who is kind of sensitive to perfumes said that this was too much, so spray carefully!

Such a photorealistic honey & hay blend, it’s lovely! I wasn’t sure about the opening, it felt a bit heavy and syrupy, but after fading a bit the hay and honey settled to a more pleasant strength. The hey, florals and honey notes are so realistic and bring back memories of the slavic countryside I spent my summers in. I don’t think it’s a scent for everyone, but for those looking for one with these particular notes, it’s perfect

I received sample set today. This is large caliber niche, not for faint hearted. Strong dry woody scent, but totally unisex. Honey is not sweet, rather pungent and aromatic. Honey right from honeycomb with wax nuances. I am about to order a full bottle.

If you are to imagine this perfume, it's palo santo and white sage burnt in a bonfire. A bonfire one might have during summer night, just before an ayahuasca ritual. I agree it's a large caliber niche. What's amazing in this scent is a real sense of warmth it creates.

August in a barn. Outside, a very dry ball of hay. Merciless sun. There is an herbal note to this, making honey almost medicinal under all the sun dried hay opening that lasts less than a minute. Not my cup of tea, but it feels pretty unique.
