Tommy Summer 2015

Tommy Hilfiger Tommy Summer 2015 is a weird fragrance that I do happen to enjoy. Tommy Summer 2015 is an herbal green that then goes into a nearly Dior Homme direction with the iris heavy base. I guess the closest is say a Dior Homme Eau or perhaps a Prada L'homme. Except this is a Tommy Hilfiger fragrance and performs as such... Tommy Summer 2015 opens green with Angelica and some light lavender and juniper to give it an uplifting herbal open. The mid gives it a slight spice but the nutmeg and coriander are very slight. It nearly passes the mid and goes into an iris heavy base with some woods (Vetiver and cedar). Iris and the herbal open are really the only distinct notes in this Tommy Summer release. Performance is typical of Tommy Hilfiger fragrances. So you get a cologne bordering eau de toilet with slight projection and about three hours prior to becoming a skin scent. Use is pretty much casual though unlike most Tommy Hilfiger fragrances, it isn't as white tee. Don't mean you can't wear a white tee when you spray it, but it is not citrus (typically lemon heavy) and ginger. This works for spring, summer and even Indian summer wear, but know it isn't as much of a dumb reach as most Tommy Hilfiger Tommy Summer releases. Overall Tommy Hilfiger Tommy Summer 2015 is a pretty good pick up especially at $20 or so which it isn't as close to anymore. I rate it a 6.8 out of 10. I like what they were doing but it is a Tommy Hilfiger fragrance in the end and performs as such... It isn't your typical summer fragrance and it hurts and helps this fragrance.

My husband got this when I ordered the men’s rather than the women’s version by mistake. Very nice and masculine in a not heavy way. I thought I got a whiff of citrus too. We both like it!

This stuff is a surprising departure from many of the other Tommy Summer releases. It reminds me of two of my favorite discontinued fragrances: YSL Live Jazz and the original Tommy Bahama for men. The top notes are a refreshing blast of juniper and coriander (cilantro). And though they're short-lived, they are distinctly reminiscent of Live Jazz. The drydown has a warm nutmeg/sandalwood base that feels like TB. The middle has a familiar 90s lavender-heavy vibe similar to Estee Lauder Pleasures for Men. Not entirely unique, but very pleasant and well-blended. And this 2015 version takes a welcome hiatus from the citrus/apple/ginger combo so dominant in previous years' offerings.
