Chocolate Oud

Chocolate Oud. The name of the game is patience. I don't think Toni Cabal fragrances are available in the U.S. I picked up Chocolate Oud in Madrid. Now that said...once I got it home to the U.S. and I sprayed it on, I immediately regretted my purchase. I didn't smell any chocolate- just a blast of overwhelming oud. I was so disappointed but I didn't declutter, I let it sit in my closet and every couple of weeks...I would spray it on again. And each time it was better and better. Well, yesterday I tested it because I bought something else recently that gave me that same strong blast of Oud...and I wanted to do a side by side. I am sooooo happy that I did not declutter this delicious gem. Nearly 10 months later the chocolate has become that star I was hoping for. I am obsessed with it now and can't wait for cold weather so I can showcase this beautiful fragrance. If you have this...DO NOT DECLUTTER, even if you are disappointed with a blast of Oud at the opening. Let it sit, let it macerate, allow the oils to blend and mature. You won't regret it. Chocolate Oud is well blended. It has great projection, great longevity and a standout as a chocolate fragrance. It is not literally gourmand, not edible, however, it smells like a beautifully niche perfume. It is just sweet enough with the addition of the vanilla, slightly spicy with the addition of the cinnamon and just a small drop of fruit from the raspberry. It is a smooth fragrance, but you have to be patient.

i get a lot of loud oud with a hint of cacao and it fills the room which i hate. not for me definitely. nothing intriguing. maybe will come back to my decant later.
