Sexy 4 Gardenia

I love it. It reminds me of a few other Gardenia fragrances that I adore that actually cost a lot more. I was lucky enough to get this in a swap and I really wish I had more of it. I think they are still selling it in pen sprayer’s but I’d like a nice big bottle. It’s so fresh and buttery at the same time. It projects nicely for a Gardenia fragrance too which is the exception not the rule. This Gardenia M.Micallef, Gardenia Petal Van Clef and Arpel, Gardenia No 9 by Elie Saab, Gardenia Edt Chanel are all so good but I think this one is right up there with them.

This was a gorgeous scent - really authentic gardenia scent with a musky base (the "sexy" part is the musk.) It's no longer prodcued and I wish it were. My last little spray bottle fell on my tile floor and shattered. My bathroom smelled very sexy for a while! it unfortunately had little staying power on me, but while it lasted it was an intoxicating scent.

Possibly my favorite scent of all time. There is nothing like it. Even the suggested dupes aren't similar to my nose at all. So sad this was discontinued!

For several years I struggled to find perfume I really loved. I first fell for The Body Shop White Musk, summer of 1992. Then for years scattered between Calyx, Coty Vanilla Musk, Guess original, and a few Bath & Body Works fragrances; namely Peach Nectar and Vanilla Bean. In 1999 I found my almighty signature, Petite Cherie and also found a few perfumers I adored besides AG! Finally! Trish was one of them. I lived on Maryland's Eastern Shore and loved crossing the bay bridge into Annapolis to go to Nordstrom. I would buy my MAC lipsticks ($13 in those days, Plastique, Sequin) and gaze longingly at the Trish scents, trying them all. Eyes rolling back. Simple, classic, and delicious. I fell head over heels for 9 (vanilla blackberry, musk) and 4. Makeupalley had clued me in on Trish 4, but for some reason I always thought 4 had vanilla in it? The gardenia is softer and fresher than Marc Jacob's & Kim Kardashian's perfume in the black and magenta bottle. The musk lifts it to feel airy and soft. The tonka definitely gives it a vallenic tone. Very youthful. Its difficult to find now in days and sadly it's not offered in the large bottle. But it can be found in the smaller spray bottles. Reminds me of spring in rural Maryland.

Heavy gardenia scent, only for lovers of strong florals...I don't find it particularly sexy, just a nice heady take on gardenia...bought blind, not my best move!! Headache inducing, and very linear.. Not much to say really, it is called gardenia, and it is exactly that!!
