Affliction

Honestly this stuff gets a bad rap because its a nameless designer fragrance. But much like the other fragrances Romane makes for western, farm and outdooring stores its a competent well done fragrance. I wore this for a couple years and while it wasn't revolutionary it was light years beyond the endless sea of Blue you have to wade through to get to anything remotely interesting at a sephoras or an Ulta. I had no problems with longevity or projection. As for the other reviewer saying affliction should have chosen a more popular house? I completely disagree. First of all affliction is the house. They simply chose Romane to manufacture the fragrance. Just as Mugler is a house that is manufactured and owned by Clarins. Now Affliction could have asked EA or Coty but how many fragrances do those manufacturers make for anything other than their premium brands that perform? Not many. And no one buys Juicy couture, Varvatos or curve because they spot that it is made by EA. The real reason affliction for men isn't well known or in high demand is because it lacke massive distribution. Affliction makes high cost clothing for teens and young adults. And affliction the fragrance was a limited edition sold mainly through buckle. It was never intended to be the next aventus. And affliction having ties to MMA (UFC has nothing to do with them as they are a rival promotion company when affliction promotions was a thing) should not mean they put out something fresh or sporty as it really only amounted to a small portion of their target audience. Affliction is heavily rooted in motorcycle, rock and sport cultures and represents a mindset and lifestyle rather than any one specific sport. Either way smell this before you blacklist it. I don't mind people hating things. I just ask they do it for the right reasons. IMHO this is better than anything Versace or Gucci has released in years.

Very unique freshness to this scent. I really like it's use of persimmon and pear. I didn't expect it to be anything and I was suprised by the quality. If anything, I'm glad it isn't a typical freshie or a blue scent. I give it points for doing something different. I remember when Affliction started as a t-shirt brand before the gaudy MMA stuff. They were definitely a style that reminds me of the mid 2000s. Very leather studded belts and skinny jeans rock vibe. I'm not sure this fragrance fits that look, but maybe it fits the crowd they were trying to appeal to at the time. If you come across a bottle for a decent price, I do recommend getting it if you like unique fruit fresh scents.

A total flop. I blind bought this a few years ago when I did not know any better. You would think since Affliction is affiliated with the UFC it's first scent would be a fresh/sporty type of scent. You might also think they would have chosen a well known house so there product would sell at department stores worldwide instead of a house that is basically only known for it's gimmick fragrance "Sex Panther" from Anchorman. This is a basic light scent fruity/floral with some musk. 2 hours max and it's gone. Discontinued I am sure but it's not in demand. I had to relist my bottle about 5 times before it sold.
