Varensia White

Wow, this is one of the best value for money fragrances I know! It costs about 7 € for 50 ml, sometimes in a gift set with a matching deo spray. The bottle, or rather the tacky print on it and the silly plastic cap, sadly look as cheap as they are. But don't let that fool you, the fragrance inside doesn't show its price. I don't know Truth or Dare or any of the other fragrances listed as similar at the moment, so I can't compare them. To me this feels original. Varensia White's main notes are ultra creamy tuberose and orange flower. In the opening I also get a gentle note of crisp green apple. It somehow reminds me of a cream or lotion from the past, maybe a sunblock product, but I'm not sure. Anyways, it's a sweet and clean scent without any green flower stems or bubblegum notes. And it gets better and more rounded over time, when vanilla and tonka blend in with the florals and the lotion-y smell vanishes. I just love white florals with vanilla. It's also quite long lasting, clearly detactable all day long. I often avoid buying perfumes in terrible cheap bottles but maybe I'll get this regardless.

Tuberose lover, grab Varensia White. This Is the Real Deal. Pros: Varensia white is a lovely, balanced blend of sweet & creamy tuberose, orange flowers, apple, vanilla and sandalwood. Cons: poor longevity on the skin but ok on fabric. Bottle: there are comments here that the bottle is tacky. I like the bottle; I think it verges on camp in its cuteness. And the bottle looks exactly like what is inside: a happy and a sweet white flower fragrance. A teenage boy relative calls it "the Geisha bottle" which is IMO is a very apt description :-).

Bubblegum tuberose! Sweet white floral, warm and comforting sandalwood, tonka, and vanilla. I always wonder how UDV can make such wonderful yet crazily affordable fragrances. The only minus of Varensia White is that it stays no more than 3-4 hours on your skin, unless you dedicate your nose to sniff it. But given to its price, doesn’t hurt to reapply it often. The drydown is heaven. Creamy tuberose, a lil powdery, still very sweet and delicate. Love it so much. Poeme lovers, Fracas lovers, and Truth or Dare lovers would love this one too!

This is a very good scent for the price, wearable tuberose so if you hate tuberose this is perfect for you...a creamy milky white floral, the tuberose is well balanced by orange blossom and has a certain sweetness and a certain powderiness to it that makes it smell a little like its packaging, white, cutsy and pleasant. Not cloying or headache inducing, smells like a chic lady wearing a cute straw hat. Lasting power 4-5 hours, overdose if you must!

Tried and bought this today for € 6.50, it does smell a lot like Truth or Dare but the first bubblegum-y blast of almost aldehidic white flowers calms down much quicker and settles into a creamy, sophisticated Tuberose, with very faint traces of buttery vanilla and lemon merengue. I detect a hint of lipstick, too. Much better than I expected, if you find it, it is a fail proof blind buy for lovers of fracas and truth or dare.

The only perfume that blended powder and floral notes and din't turn into another grandma perfume to me.

What a lovely fragrance! Tuberose, and tuberose, and tuberose, some green apples and more tuberose and maybe a vanilla bathed in tuberose. I have already had 2 bottles of it. The only bad point is its longevity and its sillage... But if you do not care for that OR want something delicate, this one may be worn as an EDC

Creamy and sweet white florals, tempered with a gentle vanilla and soft musk. I definitely get the ToD reference; they share the same bright sweetness. Perfect for warmer months, body heat really carries this scent through. Great sillage and quite long-lasting. Solid offering

So incredibly beautiful. This is all neroli up front then tuberose, iris/powdery, musk and sandalwood. Sweet and soft. A tender fragrance. The powder keeps it from being a huge vintage tuberose bomb. Very tempered.

Very light and easy to like tuberose. Is the 3rd time this house blows my mind. You can really have very well blended (light though) perfumes for under 15euros.(Ciel & Gold Issime are my other happy discoveries).

Smells A lot like Madonna's TOD!! This the most identical and I've purchased all the hyped up dupes, very creamy milky bubblegum Tuberose lasts 2-3 hrs to a hint of fragrance which is ok for 20 bucks

I think it was watered down! It was already soft, but I just got it as a Christmas gift (my 3rd or 4th bottle, don't know) and it feels... Softer.

Lovely, creamy, sweet tuberose with a hint of fresh green apple. Performs poorly on skin but lasts longer on fabric. Gorgeous.

This is just sooo good! Creamy, sweet, lovely. It's a shame it's a bit lighter recently.

How strange. This used to be NUCLEAR. Really. Now it is nice but not as strong. Pity.

I am not usually a buyer or wearer of floral perfumes, so since I only own one other I can't speak to whether Varensia White is particularly unique in its class (original Varensia definitely IS). But I got bored and wanted a different vibe, and because I like Ulric de Varens original chypre (Varensia) so much I gave it a try. Maybe this is just a basic white floral, or maybe something more, but I love it. It makes me so happy to smell in my little flowery scent bubble. I am not getting much in the way of distinct notes and this fragrance seems pretty linear to me-- can't pick out any orange blossoms or other specific elements. Overall, I'm getting white flowers with a touch of powdery white musk in the background. But the flowers smell very photorealistic to me, like being underneath a trellis of confederate jasmine, honeysuckle, orange blossoms-- with a fence full of moonflower vines opening as twilight emerges, and a large magnolia tree somewhere nearby. HOWEVER, either I became nose blind to this perfume very quickly or it really doesn't have great longevity. Since I just got it today and haven't been around anyone to tell me if they can smell it, it's anyone's guess. FUN LAYERING TIP: If you really want to put this over the top and add some distinctive quality to it, try layering with Mauboussin Une Histoire d'une Femme Sensuelle. It's similarly-priced, high quality, from another French perfume house. Une Histoire is great on its own but when I added the creamy musk-and-red-licorice element to Varensia white I got something reminiscent of Angel but better IMO. Overall, I love the experience and it was worth the twenty bucks to give Varensia White a try. Can't wait to see how it macerates over time and experiment with other combinations. Adding some ambergris might really take it to "beach day" status.

i have read comments on this fragrance calling it clean, maybe bridal. obviously a scent depends on the skin's chemistry. to me this smells so sexy and seductive. i ended up randomly trying it because i found the bottle cute, and i was taken aback by the creamy sexy white floral essence. i was surprised to see tuberose listed as a note, since in designer fragrances i find that it's a note that turns plastic-y on my skin. very beautiful blend, especially considering the price. it's a shame that this only lasts for 2 hours before disappearing. i'm not a skin scent type of person, i like to have a fragrance trail that enwraps people with my essence. however i have been thinking of it ever since i tried it, so i might look past the longevity and get it, i'm sure i'll find a situation where it won't be an issue for this fragrance to be a skin scent... edit: i ended up comparing it with Armani-my way and ever since then the drydown has been reminiscent of a cleaning product. i still like it a lot though, especially the peach-tuberose combination of the opening

I always associated this brand with cheap drugstore fragrances but the bottle in my local perfume shop left me intrigued. A few days later for a coincidence I stumbled upon a review of this scent and realized it was the bottle I saw. I checked the reviews and was amazed by the thumbs up and the comparisons to truth or dare. I was never a big white flower girl but tought what a hell. Now my review: I am not a conneseaur of white flowers but this smells nice and not cheap (I guess). I dont see the big scary scent that some people talk about. On my skin this smells very clean, soapy, sweet, a bit talky and just overall delicious. If you are looking for a strong, clear, fresh and soapy white flower give this a try. If you dont like it you dont loose much anyway.

Wow!!! Just lovely. An incredibly inexpensive tuberose that doesn’t smell cheap or have a screechy hairspray note. I get orange blossom and crisp apple in the opening followed by sweet, creamy tuberose. This not a buttery or indolic tuberose, so there’s no need to be afraid. It gets powdery and slightly musky as it dries down. As a tuberose enthusiast, I will wear tuberose in any of its forms. This is unique to my collection due to the smoothness and subtlety of the tuberose. The best way to describe it is fresh and bright and pretty. I am very pleased. This is what I wanted L’interdit to smell like. Overall, this is a gorgeous, super cheap tuberose. I just wish the longevity was better. Edit—Longevity is 8-10 hours if I really, really overspray.

Varensia is pretty, but I think I'm a little tired of plain, warm, white orange blossom/tuberose-vanilla florals, unless they have a few additional notes; to my nose, it's almost like it's missing something. Some perfumes I love that are similar to Varensia -- warm, feminine white florals -- all have the addition of fruits or nuts: Trussardi Pure Jasmine (pistachio), Estee Lauder Beautiful Belle (litchi/marzipan), or Guess Seductive (pear and black currant), for example. So, while pretty and well-priced, I won't be adding a full bottle of Varensia to my collection.
