Adux

Elephant in the room.... This has similarities to Creed Aventus (how many times have we heard that?) but it’s not a clone or direct copy, there are noticeable differences. With that said I am going to directly compare this to Aventus as it’s a solid reference point for many. This is a very fresh and bright fragrance; and the fruity notes really shine. The pineapple and apple are very prominent early on and on and in many ways it reminds me of the pineapple and apple notes from older versions of Creed Aventus. There is a slightly green and grassy element to this which is a nice twist and one of the aforementioned differences to Aventus, and I’d also note that this is substantially less ‘Smokey’ than Aventus. The oak moss is noticeable and has a slight resemblance to Nishane Hacivat but no where near as strong. Whilst ambergris is listed as a note you do not get the signature Creed ambergris note here. The citrus notes are more prominent here but the overall composition is very Aventus like whereas something like Aventus cologne, which has the citruses turned up goes in a different direction with more noticeable changes to the original. Whereas Aventus (and Hacivat for that matter) has a very universal, wear any time capability, I would suggest this is a spring and summer fragrance. It feels as the criteria for creating this was a fresher take on Aventus with focus on freshness and brightness; it succeeds but in doing so it loses some of the universal appeal. If you want a fresher and greener take on Aventus then this will probably be for you, however I must note that whilst the opening is very bright and uplifting, it dries down very similar to our old friend, expect the smokiness is muted and therefore does feel as strong or imposing; that’s not to say the dry down isn’t nice as you do get a grassy / oak moss scent bubble which is fairly subdued. Whereas aventus is a “hey look at me” type fragrance, this is more subtle, more refined, and definitely not as loud. Performance is pretty good overall, but as mentioned above the opening fades into a generic Aventus type dry down and loses a lot of what makes this fragrances good. Sadly the opening only lasts about an hour or two, but the overall longevity is pretty good. The sillage is pretty good too but it’s not a room filler. Overall a solid 8/10 however it’s hard to place in your collection if you already own a few aventus style fragrances. As someone who already owns Aventus, Aventus cologne, Hacivat, and MB Explorer, I probably won’t use this much.

Looking at the notes will immediately make you think of Aventus; with pineapple, birch, ambergris, moss and patchouli. However this also has grass, cardamom and oud so I approached this with an open mind, hoping it would be a nice variation on a theme rather than another clone. Although this carries some Aventus dna, it is, fortunately, not a clone. It has a very bright, juicy opening from the citrus and a touch of candied sweetness. After a few minutes, it becomes slightly more green and spicy. It’s certainly a fresh and uplifting start. As it dries down, it becomes a little more familiar with other scents of this ilk. The patchouli makes it’s presence know but then settles back down again. I can’t say I pick up much of an oud accord. It still retains some brightness but this is tempered by the drier, earthy elements. Overall, I’d say this is a greener and brighter version of the scents we all know so well. As for performance. It’s okay. But for this price point, I would have expected better longevity and projection. Longevity is moderate but it doesn’t project as much as I’d like, which is disappointing for the price. Interesting to see this rated as long lasting and strong at the time of writing. Jovoy also lists this has having an extravagant trail, however, this hasn’t been my experience at all! Overall, it’s a very nice scent but, ultimately, nothing new. However, I’ve tried many Aventus alternatives and this is definitely one of the better ones. It would be even better if the performance was greater

I recently had the pleasure of trying out the Adux fragrance, and I must say, it's a delightful scent that perfectly captures the essence of freshness and vitality. With its prominent citrus and green notes, Adux offers a unique olfactory experience that is both invigorating and uplifting.

It is an explosion of freshness! Just the fragrance I was looking for, for the summer! :)

Really enjoyable opening but it dried down to an aventus clone. Performance is meh on me.
