VG V

This stuff is great. A strong, bright, fresh, clean floral scent that starts off with a sparkly, crisp citrus edge at first. The slightly sharp citrus fades over the first few hours and it retains its clean, clear florals throughout and does not change a huge amount. Moderately sweet. Late on it develops a subtle, powdery, vanilla undertone which sweetens it more and this mixes with the floral quality until the whole thing slowly fades. At points it reminded me of Sung Homme but Van Gils V smells less synthetic, more natural, more modern, more floral and may be too feminine for some men who can't handle anything that is not overtly masculine. Relatively subtle woodiness and a hint of spice make it masculine but there is a big floral feel and a woman could easily wear it without drawing strange looks. Having said that, I love the older masculine scents and don't like things that are too sweet or feminine/unisex and I still love this. Powerful and potent with good projection for 8 or more hours (after which it drops within an inch or two) and it is quite strong on the skin for in excess of 12 hours. In three words - fresh, bright, floral. Really good stuff. Just a pity I can't find more of it really.

I'm wearing this today, got this edt just after it was discontinued (2011). Also the deodorant, deostick, showergel, shavingcream and aftershave balm. It is the youthfull version of van Gils Classic / Strictly for men. Strong stuff, with a floral feel. With 5 sprays (1 on chest, 2 in neck and 1 on each wrist) it is still noticable after almost 15 hours. I see this lately @ discounters, maybe it was re-released. Some other van Gils'es too, in different bottles and sizes than before. Got it back then, in only 50 ml bottle size.... Was easy to get for me, it is manufactured in my hometown. I have all their releases...this is my favorite. Edit 2017-11-05: My 22 year old nephew uses this now...he really likes it! Edit 2017-12-02: I saw it is back in the retail perfume shop of ICIParisXL

A few weeks earlier I saw an other version of this. Maybe a flanker? It is called: ICE It has the same silver box, but instead of VG V it has VGV ICE on the front. The bottle is a bit darker grey as the original VG V. It smells really different, just can not put the point on it. Not floral but some kind of minty... I Like the original VG V better

A beautiful bright and spicy scent, it can be used as a daily driver - it was my go-to scent for work. Great price-quality ratio, bought it discounted (for less than 10 EUR) at the Action discount store in The Netherlands.

This is very powerful. I find the blood orange note way too pungent on my skin. Can’t really detect any other notes. Scrubber. Pass.

Someone said that this fragrance reminds him of Bazooka bubblegum. I don't get any bubblegum out of this fragrance but a dry, slightly fruity sweet smell. The blood orane accord might be the most Fitting description for this fragrance. If I think of something that smells similar I think of bogart pour homme.

I have been using Van Gils Classic and Recently Tried Van Gils V , Truly Impressed. Beautiful Shifted from Powerhouse to Target Younger Audience. @ cyrlyogi , I usually get my Fragrances from Unboxed.In in India or from Duty Free when i am Travelling . Them seem to have all Van Gils Stuff Currently.
