Baby Blue Jeans

Not really a child's scent, even though the kid on the package is wearing his dad's suit, trying to be grown up (cute!). This is a lighter scent than Blue Jeans, but not actually a "fraiche" version. This is like a faded and worn favorite pair of jeans you've had forever...and Blue Jeans is like the slammin' new designer pair you just got... This is a super citrus scent. It begins with all the sharpness of bergamot and bitter lime with some mandarin too keep it from overpowering, still sharp but sweeter. Clean and fresh, like a baby is, but if your baby smells like this...get him to the pediatrician! The heart becomes wonderfully green with galbanum and juniper, an aromatic mix for sure and some cool iris that gives it a powdery earthiness. The drydown comes long after the top and heart, but the citrusy spiceiness stays with you throughout. The cedar and sandal are dry and the vanilla adds a sweetness to the clean musk and I can't really smell the patchouli; other than a soft, slightly dirty note (like a kid after playing outside). This is definitely not for children...unless they are precocious and ahead of the curve; but it does remind one of lost innocence, and how much fun it was to just be a kid. How fresh and new and wonderful the world was, and when I start to think I might be getting too "mature"-a couple sprays of this has me ready to run in the grass and "play pretend"... Both the Metal (purple) Jeans have thus far eluded me, but they will come, I'm sure. Donatella created this scent (and Gianni did Rose Baby Jeans)to remind her of how her "boys" smelled when they were little...and I think she nailed it! A classic citrus-green scent that refreshes, invigorates and ultimately comforts...worth having!

Someone once said this smells like a citronella candle, alcohol and baby powder. As much as I like this one, I would say that it is somewhat spot on with how this smells. This scent kind of depends on what setting you are in. If you are the coolest cat in the room, people will love it! If you suck at life and are unattractive, people will repel even more from you. It is described as casual but you could pull this in a semi formal setting. It is quite strong at first, but calms slightly down into a wonderful scent in my opinion. I think it is WAY TOO underrated and hated by people with near virgin noses. I picture someone like "The Most Interesting Man in The World", wearing this cologne. It's a mature scent that no teenager has any business wearing. I personally like it and think it's one of those that should get more credibility for its scent.

#97 in my "Tour de Fragrance" of 250 scents in 250 days, and a scent I first tried twenty years ago that I loved, but Versace discontinued. Versace Blue Jeans, nearly my least favorite scent in the "Jeans" line is still on the market, and I have Blue Jeans, but I recently found a bottle of Baby Blue Jeans on eBay and had to have it. I still love this bright, citrusy scent of orange, lime, bergamot and iris. One of the best Summer scents of all time. I wish Versace would bring back the whole line. You'd think they'd notice bottles of Versace Green Jeans are going for $350 on eBay and figure out it is worth reintroducing. But it's a marketing concept whose time probably passed when blue jeans became a $400 piece of clothing at Anthropologie.

First I'd like to say that I love the packaging of this fragrance from the tin it comes in to the little frosted bottle itself. As far as its smell I also like it. The first time I smelled it I almost put it down because of the opening, which is a lot of citrus and only citrus. I saw someone else say it smells like a cleaning product which I can somewhat agree with. But then after 10 min or so it softens up and becomes maybe the best dry down of any fresh fragrance I've smelled so far, I think it's wonderful. It has the vanilla and patchouli and it's very pleasant. I think if you want something a little more unique than most fresh fragrances give this a try you might like it.

I got this fragrance recently and really like it. It is so superior to its big brother, Blue Jeans. It does not have the strong vanilla, Blue Jeans has, which is good as it can get a bit too much. IMHO, it makes its older brother a bit of a trainwreck, by comparison The citrus and powder are very smooth and it is long lasting. It is hard to imagine this offending anyone. The only issue is the name...not very macho. Not the sort of name you would bandy around at a truck-stop...This is kind of a olfactory version of the Beach Boys song "Baby Blue", smooth sweet and easy listening (smelling).
