Baby Blue Jeans

Not really a child's scent, even though the kid on the package is wearing his dad's suit, trying to be grown up (cute!). This is a lighter scent than Blue Jeans, but not actually a "fraiche" version. This is like a faded and worn favorite pair of jeans you've had forever...and Blue Jeans is like the slammin' new designer pair you just got... This is a super citrus scent. It begins with all the sharpness of bergamot and bitter lime with some mandarin too keep it from overpowering, still sharp but sweeter. Clean and fresh, like a baby is, but if your baby smells like this...get him to the pediatrician! The heart becomes wonderfully green with galbanum and juniper, an aromatic mix for sure and some cool iris that gives it a powdery earthiness. The drydown comes long after the top and heart, but the citrusy spiceiness stays with you throughout. The cedar and sandal are dry and the vanilla adds a sweetness to the clean musk and I can't really smell the patchouli; other than a soft, slightly dirty note (like a kid after playing outside). This is definitely not for children...unless they are precocious and ahead of the curve; but it does remind one of lost innocence, and how much fun it was to just be a kid. How fresh and new and wonderful the world was, and when I start to think I might be getting too "mature"-a couple sprays of this has me ready to run in the grass and "play pretend"... Both the Metal (purple) Jeans have thus far eluded me, but they will come, I'm sure. Donatella created this scent (and Gianni did Rose Baby Jeans)to remind her of how her "boys" smelled when they were little...and I think she nailed it! A classic citrus-green scent that refreshes, invigorates and ultimately comforts...worth having!

Someone once said this smells like a citronella candle, alcohol and baby powder. As much as I like this one, I would say that it is somewhat spot on with how this smells. This scent kind of depends on what setting you are in. If you are the coolest cat in the room, people will love it! If you suck at life and are unattractive, people will repel even more from you. It is described as casual but you could pull this in a semi formal setting. It is quite strong at first, but calms slightly down into a wonderful scent in my opinion. I think it is WAY TOO underrated and hated by people with near virgin noses. I picture someone like "The Most Interesting Man in The World", wearing this cologne. It's a mature scent that no teenager has any business wearing. I personally like it and think it's one of those that should get more credibility for its scent.

#97 in my "Tour de Fragrance" of 250 scents in 250 days, and a scent I first tried twenty years ago that I loved, but Versace discontinued. Versace Blue Jeans, nearly my least favorite scent in the "Jeans" line is still on the market, and I have Blue Jeans, but I recently found a bottle of Baby Blue Jeans on eBay and had to have it. I still love this bright, citrusy scent of orange, lime, bergamot and iris. One of the best Summer scents of all time. I wish Versace would bring back the whole line. You'd think they'd notice bottles of Versace Green Jeans are going for $350 on eBay and figure out it is worth reintroducing. But it's a marketing concept whose time probably passed when blue jeans became a $400 piece of clothing at Anthropologie.

First I'd like to say that I love the packaging of this fragrance from the tin it comes in to the little frosted bottle itself. As far as its smell I also like it. The first time I smelled it I almost put it down because of the opening, which is a lot of citrus and only citrus. I saw someone else say it smells like a cleaning product which I can somewhat agree with. But then after 10 min or so it softens up and becomes maybe the best dry down of any fresh fragrance I've smelled so far, I think it's wonderful. It has the vanilla and patchouli and it's very pleasant. I think if you want something a little more unique than most fresh fragrances give this a try you might like it.

I got this fragrance recently and really like it. It is so superior to its big brother, Blue Jeans. It does not have the strong vanilla, Blue Jeans has, which is good as it can get a bit too much. IMHO, it makes its older brother a bit of a trainwreck, by comparison The citrus and powder are very smooth and it is long lasting. It is hard to imagine this offending anyone. The only issue is the name...not very macho. Not the sort of name you would bandy around at a truck-stop...This is kind of a olfactory version of the Beach Boys song "Baby Blue", smooth sweet and easy listening (smelling).

This is my favorite from the Versace catalogue. This is a refreshing juice for summer. The initial spray is a soft lemon/lime. The scent dries down to a nice crisp, clean scent with a hint of vanilla. My only complaint is the weak silliage & I constantly re-apply to "freshen up". It is NOT an obnoxious scent & reminds me of a grown-up version of Nenuco, a cologne splash for babies my mother used on me in Spain. I'll be sad when I finish my bottle. And to some readers inquiring about availability, I easily find Versace Jeans perfumes on eBay. This is where I purchased this bottle.

I have never understood why Versace discontinued this beauty, and Green Jeans, yet kept Blue Jeans alive. >>> Insert loud sigh here <<< Baby Blue Jeans is delightful. Powdery yet bold; sweet yet endearing - this is a great scent for anyone. I love this one! I still have a bottle from when I was younger, the smell is citrusy, floral and powdery for me, it reminds me of the Mediterranean. I love it I find it very comforting and summery, it’s definitely 100% a day time perfume, I wish they’d start producing this again it is lovely! One of my favourites

Nice refreshing, almost fizzy, citrus/vanilla scent. Opens with lemon/lime and a touch of vanilla. The drydown is a lovely clean soapy/lemon scent followed by a sweet powder. Longevity and sillage OK. Nice neat little potion bottle. Great for summer.

This is basically Shalimar Light. Very nice and fresh at first and then turns sweet and powdery. It's definitely unisex, if anything, a bit more feminine.

If Guerlain made Heritage Sport, it would smell pretty much like BBJ. Very nice once the top fades.

As the heat and humidity build, I pulled out Baby Blue Jeans, applying early in the morning for a bracing jolt of bergamot, here in it's lemon personae. On me more lemon than lime, this is a fresh unisex fragrance that seems made for sweltering weather. The mandarin orange is zesty rather than juicy, but the citrus accord created by the lime, the lemony bergamot, and the mandarin orange, is pitch perfect. Neither sour nor sweet, neither dry nor juicy, instead this combines a sweet but dry mandarin orange peel with a juicy and tart bergamot and lime. Although tobacco is not listed here, there is a strong tobacco/ cigarette note. The rosemary is more camphorous than minty here, with a green, weedy, grassy quality. Please note that this is an agreeable camphor, not antiseptic or medicinal, but dry and bitter. The galbanum is bitter and green, more than balmy and resinous, although musky. The iris is powdery and earthy, and altogether the heart is tart, dry, powdery, earthy and green, helping to ground the big bold citrus. There is a moment when I get the image of a cigarette that has been crushed out in a plate of tart lemon curd, but this is mercifully short lived. "Big citrus" lingers well into the heart and the drydown, fading, but disappearing only towards the end, when the sandalwood and musk combine with a touch of vanilla. This is not a sweet soft fragrance, but seems to me well suited for women. Great for casual wear in hot climates, good for the office, and for daytime outings. Lasts 4-6 hours on me.

This one is pure nostalgia for me. Someone gifted it to my little brother when we were kids, and even though I don’t remember all the details, the smell instantly brings me back. Sundays, getting dressed up for church, birthdays, holidays — every time we were going somewhere special, my mom would spray this on him. Sitting next to him in the car, in church, or at a restaurant... that scent is tied to all of it. The fragrance itself is soft, fresh, and comforting. It opens with a gentle citrus that quickly turns fluffy and powdery, supported by light herbal aromatics. It smells clean and well-groomed, but in an old-school way — no sweetness overload, no shower-gel freshness, no gourmand touches. Just that classic blend of citrus, clean musks, and fresh herbs. It sits somewhere between the 80s and 90s — a kind of transitional scent. You still feel traces of the stronger, more structured 80s fougere style, but it’s clearly moving toward the lighter, fresher direction of the 90s. There’s a Mediterranean feel to it. What makes it special is how universal it feels. It genuinely smells like something for kids — soft, clean, and innocent — but at the same time, anyone can wear it. Kids, adults, elders, men, women... it just works. Honestly, it’s a shame Versace discontinued it.

I stumbled upon this in a store in Ontario last month (Aug 2016), and bought it for $25 (plus tax; 50ml). The shop assistants assured me that it wasn't too masculine, though I was aware they may simply have had an eye for a sale! I thought the price was too good to pass on, so bought it, even though it was a bit strong! I am wearing it properly today for the first time, on a much cooler day (high teens in Celsius, versus sweatily hot). It goes on a bit strong and obviously unisex, but NOT too masculine for a woman who likes distinctive scents. It's now about 4 hours later and the scent has faded to a soft but noticeable lime / bergamot / iris / sandalwood scent -- those are the notes that I can still smell clearly. The overall effect is of a soft fragrant warm spicy perfume, good for autumn (and probably spring). I am glad I bought it! One of the best things about it, apart from its longevity (4 hours for me is a lot longer than many another much more expensive perfume lasts), is that it does not instantly remind me of some other women's perfume. It is not a girly fruity-floral, but neither is it too 'mature'. Long story short: buy if you can find it, spray about an hour before you leave the house, it'll be fine for women.

One year after the launch of Blue Jeans on the market, Versace decided to bring a more "youthful" version of this success. Then, in 1995, Baby Blue Jeans was released, with a boy printed on its packaging, playing as a man. The intention was to produce a fresher perfume aimed at young teenagers who are concerned, in an early way, with their image. I don't particularly think it worked! I'm not talking about the fragrance, which is great, but the result that, in my point of view, was not made for teenagers. The fragrance contains, in a way, the DNA of its predecessor, bringing an initial citrus dip. But it is not a youthful perfume! It opens with citrus notes, but the body is rich in iris, rosemary, and galbanum. To finish, the base contains sandalwood, patchouli, cedar, musk, and vanilla. For me, Baby Blue Jeans carries a strong, yet comfortable fragrance. And its citrus notes, along with musk and vanilla, are what most stand out on my skin. But still, it is a perfume for real men, not for young people, who can count on other options, like CK One, for example.

Baby Blue Jeans is a much younger version of Blue Jeans, they have the same DNA IMO, Its not very masculine and may be used by girls for sure but its not for kids, It opens up very powdery where I actually get the iris and the musk much stronger than the citric part, but then that settles and becomes a citric powdery/floral white scent, In longevity I find it to be very good as pretty much every Versace scent, but yes it does smell synthethic, I don ́t really feel the woody part on this one, or at least not till it is a skin scent. Overall I find it to be a pretty decent casual smell for doing outside activities but not at all a formal smell since its too playful but not sexy nor compliment garnering. I like to layer it with 4711; yes with that, they actually pair really good together since the powdery BBJ serves as a great carrier for the nice smelling but lacking longevity 4711. Scent 6.5/10 sillage 7/10 longevity 7/10 versatility 4/10 overall for me its a solid 6/10

A strong citrus opening of mandarin orange peels, with the sharpness tamed by bergamot. For the first 10 minutes I almost exclusively smell the orange, with only the lightest spice detectable. After 10 minutes more spice and parts of the base start to emerge. The opening citrus hangs on for almost the entire duration of the scent, just getting lighter by the hour, very long for any citrus accord. The dry-down is typical of a sandalwood-musk-patchouli base, but I still get whiffs of small remnants of the orange right up to 5 hours later, from up close. Good sillage, average longevity. It's a daytime casual/weekend wear scent for me. Edit: The review was done in the summer and I think the warmer weather helps to tame Baby Blue Jeans, warmth flattens it out a little. In cooler weather it can be very strong, a lot more floral and vanilla come through. Very tart.

"Mix one tablespoon of sherbert, and mix with lemonade..." and you have the basic scent of Baby Jeans! It's not often I wear this, as you have to be in the right mood. It's light, airy and for summer mornings when you want to smell like sparkly lemons! Albeit, it doesn't last long.

It is stronger than it sounds "Baby Blue". It's a little bit retro, remind on early 90'. I had never known what kind of aroma this is before I bought it and I was little suprised of it. I like it but it's not the sweet vanilla frangrance as it sounds. Not for every taste!

I got this fragrance because I already have Versace Blue jeans cologne for men. It's much more citrus than the other Versace Jeans fragrances and, to tell you the truth I only purchased this fragrance because it's one of LADY GAGA'S favorite fragrances.🤷👩🎤

It's an interesting scent. I'd say it's quite unique. Definitely better than Blue Jeans. However I can't see an occasion where I'd wear this.

Tart, powdery, bright, refreshing. Not something I would personally wear, but it's a decent fragrance with an attractive price!

I had this years ago and I found it pleasant. Citrus, vanilla and powdery notes. This is a calming scent that smelled natural.

If you can't afford Guerlain's Jicky, then this is the next best thing. Women can wear this too.

Smells very similar to Xerjoff Renaissance but a little less smoother and more animalic than it.

this reminds me of Armoise by Ulric de Varens which I used to like wearing.

As much as I would like to appreciate this EDT which was given to me by a friend, it's hard because it smells like an insect repellant TBH. It's like citronella? I tried to like it though but I think I haven't finished the contents of this bottle. No one in our family used it other than me, and it's okay for us to share perfumes. Props to cute packaging though. It's a masculine scent and a man gave it to me. I can't help but think that he just didn't like it so he gave it to me? Nevertheless I'm still grateful for his effort. I give this 3 out of 5 stars.

Whoa! Bring out the paracetamol! What a massive punch to the senses this little bottle brings. It's potent. Lime that smells like it's slightly on the turn, mixed with a whole rosemary bush, and massive amounts of sandalwood. Three big players in the notes game and they are thrown together into a little blue bottle. Don't blind buy this. Test it on yourself first. When it's good, it's very good. When it's bad, you will need a headache pill and a good lie down.

Quite feminine with bright, semi-sweet citrus, lots of florals, powdery vanilla and clean white musk. Very aromatic, a bit playful and very clean, this is a great inexpensive summer scent for guys or girls who enjoy very bright, floral citrus scents and don't mind them a bit powdery.

Definitely not what I expect from the title Baby Blue Jeans. I expected something soft, a little sweet, comforting. In actuality its in your face citrusy. A nasty 80s musk. It does soften up and becomes more pleasant. OK longevity on me anyway.

I would call some of the scents from this time period "transitional", because they're already headed in the fresh 90's direction, but they have strong traces from the 80's power scents, which on the other hand are often upgrades of the 70's aesthetic. And so, there's this sour citrus note dominating the opening, which reminds me so much of YSL Pour Homme. Then, a musky powdery texture that could be the father of Burberry Touch: the idea of a ''masculine' powdery note, this time supported by patchouli. Galbanum and rosemary complete the stale, sour, almost savory citrus note. Although, from a bigger distance, most of the time, it's just powder and patch As this genre has evolved a great bit since then, I wouldn't search for Baby Blue Jeans for reasons other than some sentimental value. Thanks anyway!

My initial thought was "Jickyesque" at the first blast of citrus and vanilla. The well done lime held my attention, but the powder accord somewhat pulled it way back to when Grandma struck an intimidating figure under elaborate headgear and heaving lace-covered bosom. However, I still think it's worth the low price just for the yummy citrus artfully clashing with the antique powder. If it delivers on longevity and sillage it may be a keeper. Oh, BTW, to the ageist types out there: I'll damn well wear this Baby whenever I please regardless of whether I'm between 80 and the resurrection or not. And I bet you'd be none the wiser as to what this "old" geezer is wearing...

This was the first cologne I ever got my nose on. My father bought it for me when I was probably 7 or 8 years old (21 or 22 years ago) so it holds a very special place in my heart. I remember him coming home from work on a Friday afternoon and surprising me with this. We then went into NYC for the night for dinner and I felt like the coolest person ever wearing this. It was one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever gotten as this laid the groundwork for my love for fragrances. Such a beautiful fougere. Spicy, citrusy and aromatic. I thought this smelled like the greatest thing ever - and it still does. It’s cheap, versatile and plain awesome.

I actually just bought this a couple of years ago and I love it. It's very powdery and the a very dry, crusty citrus smell. When I say crusty I don't mean it in a bad way just a dried, decaying citrus fruits but in a good way. I love the dry down as it dries down to something totally different. The powdery scent is completely gone and it turns into something completely masculine like a totally different beast. I think I would give this a 5 for longevity not more and not less because it does last a bit but as mentioned not like when you first smell it sprayed on your skin. I recommend this as a fun playful fragrance!

Will first iam a huge fan of versace frag..I love dreamer..blue jeans ..l homme ...so I told to my self let's try this on although the bottle is not impressive the scent is excellent ..it start with sharp natural lemon at the top then powdered lemon in the middle then dry down into a nice patcholi ......this scent remind me Exactly exactly exactly exactly like guerlain heritage with no.difference at all ..so if you like heritage I strongly recomend this one because it is much cheaper Longivity and projection is above average about 8 hrs like heritage ....yes the packaging is bad but the scent is excellent.....

baby blue is a splash of light fresh citruses that will freshen up hot summer days. even the drydown still smell fresh, a mix of light woods, sweet vanilla and faint powdery musk. i enjoyed the drydown...unfortunately, just like summer days, the scent is gone really fast. i would personally treat it as refreshing cologne during daytime. i dont see teenage boys wearing this thou...i think it fits little boys and girls. just like pictured in the poster advertisment. good price-value in my opinion!

Omg , it so beautiful fresh light aroma :-) i didnt expect anything from it , as I have some from jeans line and there is nothing interesting about those . I sprayed it and the first minute spray is harsh a mess , than it developes beautifully . You will not belive but this is resembles to cristobal by c. Balenciaga. I will ejoy it this spring For me it is completely female scent .

I've never, ever, known that this was for men. I always thought it was for women as a few of my friends had it in the 2000s. I can't really remember how it smells other than it was a fresh scent which isn't my style, but they wouldn't have worn anything too masculine either. If it is for men it must either lean more feminine or it's unisex. I had the pink one which was much nicer.

Baby blue is wearable for young men & young women. i used to use this scent when i was a teen. It reminds me of baby scents, hence the name baby ble. it's sweet vanilla scent just came too strong for me after some time of use that i wasn't even able to finish the bottle. It's still half-filled up to now. it's not a scent that mid-aged or elderly people should use.

Just got this in the mail from a collector as I can't find this in stores. This is really sweet but really tart at the same time. The lime really dominates this fragrance, which in my opinion is a good thing as I love me some lime! A nice, playful summer scent that I will be wearing despite being female, as this is easily unisex.

Definitely not a baby boy scent. There is nothing innocent about it. It has a nice fresh top but it settles down as a woodsy scent or, I may say, something strong and a bit sharp with cedar and musk. I saw it at Marshalls for $15 for 1.7oz, and I am still making up my mind whether I should make a purchase.

I really wish this one lasted longer. The first lemony note is quite strong and I think this could turn people off quickly. I love powdery fragrances and this one dries down nicely. Unfortunately on me it's gone within an hour. The bottle design and packaging is quite cute and it is very much unisex.

This was my very first fragrance. My aunt bought this when I was only 9 in 1998. She knew I love me some baby blue color. From what I was remember, it was really fresh and clean at the same time. I kinda agree with the comment about the baby powder, I can smell that on this fragrance.

The correct title of this cologne is now VERSUS Baby Blue Jeans. Not Versace Baby Blue Jean. That's the new label from Versace. If you see a bottle of this that says Versus Baby Blue Jeans don't assume it's a Versace knockoff! It's still produced by Versace.

Interestingly this is one of the first perfumes I remember my mother giving me to wear in the 90s. The packaging is nostalgic. Dont remember how it smells from memory but I do wonder if it left an impression on my perfume collection
