Camellia Sunset

Unique, enticing, and beautiful! I have never smelled something similar. It opens with a blast of Sichuan pepper, which is sour and tangy while retaining some heat. It is warm and spicy. It is unlike the typical black pepper note. The peppery smell does last through the wear, but it becomes subdued after the opening. The other key note is lemon. This is such a realistic lemon, like squeezing or biting into the individual citrus kernels (juice vesicles) of a lemon. Zero lemonade or candy or fake lemon. This is my favorite part of the mist. As it finishes drying down, all the notes blend together into what's a softly spiced, bittersweet, and warm lemon tea. I don't smell any floral notes. I think only the leaves of camellia have eugenol, which is similar to clove. I don't smell that at all. I think VS listed it as a fantasy floral notes that just blends in with the base. The mist wears for 1.5 hours on skin, and it's very faint after an hour. It morphs over time. I rated it as a love because it is so unique and artistic. The perfumer(s) really nailed Sichuan pepper.

Smells really fresh beautiful, but lasts seconds on me. 🥲

There is something about this that reminds me so much of Mariah Carey’s “Lucious pink” or “ultra pink.” It’s not identical. It’s not a dupe. But if VS didn’t add the pepper and left it as is. I think it could pass for a dupe. If fragrances could be a family. I think “Camilla sunrise.” Could be “Lucious pinks” older sister. She’s a light, floral, but she has a spice to her. This is literally Lucious pink but spicy.
