Dimlight

Let me start by saying that I was curious about this house as soon as they become available in the US. I first blind bought C Major, as I saw the notes and I love tea scent.ls. I really liked it and is not like any of the tea scents I already own- so was a win. Then I ordered a sample of Golden Hour, but I’m not really into the mango note- so that one was a pass. Now I ordered a fragrance and added a sample of Dimlight- and let me tell you, this is really nice. I respect others opinions on this scent, because people perceive the scents differently and that’s just how it is. But this scent delivers. It might not be your style, but it is a great scent. You get alsmost all the notes listed- specifically the cardamom, rum, tobacco (not an ashy like one), and the vanilla in the base. It has some sweetness, but is not a sweet perfume per se. To my nose is like if Amber K by Ella K (which is a perfume I adore) and Majenta Tanzanite had a baby. Very rich and bold scent. Very long lasting as well. So the 30ml will last, as you don’t need to overspray this one. It’s a more fall/ winter scent- but I believe you can wear it in a cooler nights as well. With that being said, I’m not sure if I will add a bottle to my collection as I already own Amber K and MT. But who knows? I would recommend sample it first- but if you like these scents I mentioned, or Minuit et Demi by FDB, Starlight by Xerjoff, or Tobacco Vanille - I believe you’ll enjoy this one. They don’t smell exactly the same, so will not be redundant, but they are in the same category IMO.

Yummy rum, almond and woody scent, definitely unisex, great for the fall or evenings.

I find the top notes challenging to break past - but once I did I found the smell to be cold, spicy, and super masculine. I file my samples “yes” “maybe” “never” — this one is a maybe

I’m striking out with this brand, I can’t find anything that works for me (in hindsight, that’s probably good since I have almost 300 full size bottles)! A bad mix of too many star players and no supporting roles. The notes are clashing and it smells...... like yuck. I will say this caveat, the mix is strong and lasts for hours.

As noted in the notes, there is an alcohol aroma, but rather than a nicely refined, sweet alcohol aroma, it is predominantly an extremely pungent and acrid aroma. To me, it smells very much like “Scotch tape.” It is an unpleasant acetate-like aroma, which some describe as a fruity aroma, but to me, it just reminds me of glue, or hair fixer.
