Yuzu Pop

This is not at all what I expected! Bright yet warm citrusy white floral with a little bit of spice at first, a femininity in the heart, a little bit of woodiness towards the end, and a lot of fresh green throughout. This is a beautiful scent perfect for wearing everyday (at least in the warmer months, I haven’t worn it in the fall or winter). Although it’s a casual scent, it’s sophisticated and well balanced throughout its wear. As with all natural perfumes I’ve tried it’s a bit overwhelming at first (astringent in this case), and it shifts and changes throughout the day, but this scent never loses its unique character. (Even in the middle of its wear when a strong orange blossom note is at its strongest). If you don’t love orange blossom, I’d say it won’t be for you, but the great thing about natural perfume is that the strong orange blossom note is very nuanced. I wear it on my hair because it doesn’t project a lot and doesn’t last very long, but I think it’s a great price for its silage and longevity. This one also seems to move through the intensity of the opening into the dry down quicker than the other natural scents I’ve sampled, so a refresh in the middle of a busy day is very doable. Perfectly natural and earthy opening. If you have ever dried herbs, that point where they are almost dry. Absolutely addictive. Yuzu stays yet is subtle and not overly bitter. Just enough to be fresh. Orange flower is definitely the star. Woods and spices just accent the creamy and fresh perfume. In all WnW I have tested, you can smell the powerful and unique natural ingredients, that are commonly found in high end house that use quality natural ingredients like Guerlain or Killians. 5 or 6 sprays gets a solid 6 hours, with 2 of that projecting nicely. Definitely an all season perfume, except maybe not a cold cold winter day.

I am a huge fan of natural perfumery and a big fan of yuzu. I am a good customer of Gather perfumes and the perfumer Ananda has done several perfumes w/ a bright yuzu accord that I own or have owned, not in the data base here that I absolutely love. I thought the same would be said for Wit and West's Yuzu Pop. I am a bit disappointed in this cologne. The opening is a bit like a grapefruit rind and isn't as smooth as I would expect it to be. As the perfume develops it is quite flat and dull. More like an essential oil instead of a perfume, not bad but not anything really interesting to wear. I think I will stick w/ Gather Perfumes for my yuzu fix. Yuzu Pop is linear, dull and boring.

Middle age male reviewer, prefer botanical naturals as a general rule. Many years experience, but still consider myself a lay-nose. I tend to be more friendly in my reviews of botanical naturals, simply because I support the concept. The only exceptions will be if they are especially foul, such as having a stanky jasmine or patchouli reminiscent of my dead grandpa's socks. Still new to this brand, my second sample. I am as pleased with this one as the first. Most would def describe this as happy and uplifting. My layperson nose has an immediate reference to childhood bubblegum wrappers combined with a unique citrus (I have no experience with Yuzu) and a blatant clean soapy floral. On my test plate, which I sprayed liberally, it seems to have almost no projection. The great sprayers on these testers left the paper plate fairly saturated after four good sprays, but it's just not lifting off the plate at all, into the room. That said, it may push out only minimally. I'm about 3 hours in and it's still there as far as longevity for a natural. Surely a scent universally described as a happy sunny spring/summer. The bubblegum wrapper is likely solely my experience. Can also be described as youthful, but not in a juvenile way. So far so good with this brand. I look forward to the next sample, I have several. Update: The next day the sandalwood comes out completely. Would never know it was there beforehand. It's a great, creamy sandalwood.

This is so well named. It's so joyful and bright. The yuzu note is gorgeous, and it's couched in warm soft muted florals and a sandalwood & olibanum base, so there are no sharp edges. It's so much fun and would be perfect on a hot summer day. Like many citrus frags, it didn't last as long as I'd hoped, but it was worth every second. Definitely FBW.
