Scented by Willam

I'm writing a second review. I received the last bottle in creation today from the wonderful Xyrena. I got it in record time. They sold me the last bottle they had in their vault. (Originally made in 2016, discontinued in 2020).The sexy, sweaty, lavender/latex hit me as soon as I popped open the box to reveal the beautiful vegan leather and gold emblazoned travel case they included for free because, since the product is discontinued, they no longer have the correct packaging to send it out in. This is fine. I have two mint condition Xyrena VHS style clamshell cases from my previous purchases of Scented by Willam that I can keep it in, or I may just keep it in this beauty of a case. After first spray, the Amyl nitrate/ poppers opened up a beautiful earthy cinnamon cut by this animalistic musk I can't quite compare to anything else. I feel so privileged to own this bottle. I don't know what I'm going to do when this eventually runs out. It's only 1.7oz (as all Xyrena frags are)... I'd kill for a 3.4oz. I do wish she would have went with the original "Stank Drizzle" name she intended to use. According to Willam, the perfume company prohibited the use of that name, so Willam went with the passive aggressive yet still funny and tongue-in-cheek "Scented". It's still on brand for her, but for a Xyrena fragrance, this is very wearable. It smells like a gay bar halfway through the night between drag shows. It smells like the taint of that hot guy you blew in the backseat of your mom's car when you were 19. All of this sex, yet weirdly calming and nostalgic. Xyrena tends to make olfactory experiences rather than wearable fragrances. Dark Ride was an awesome sense-driven experience but I tried wearing it one day and was followed by a mildewy headache cloud for most of the day, even after trying to scrub it off. Plastic by Trixie Mattel was atrocious. It made me nauseous- which was very upsetting as I love the idea of a fruity plastic toy scent. Plastic, unfortunately, was another scrubber. I will try Sneakerhead, Neon Sunset, and the Y2K fragrances soon. Back to this beaut-- I had it on for five minutes at work and I got a compliment. I had been wearing Angel by Mugler prior to, and sure, I'd get compliments -- but when I wear this gem-- I get noticed more and more. What I hear is "Oh it smells good in here, is that you?". That makes me feel good. Any fragrance that illicit compliments like this one does is a winner in my book. I don't smell the cinnamon advertised, but I'm fine with that as I'm not a huge cinnamon fan. The cumin, however, is there in the dry down along with the sandalwood and lingering latex, which is the surprising star here. I've always wanted something that smells like a sexy sweaty man. And this is it, without being a masculine scent. Hanging into this for as long as I possibly can.

When I tell you this is my favorite fragrance, I mean it. I'm obsessed with Theirry Mugler's alien and Angel scents, but when I got a hold of this... I almost got erect. This made me feel incredibly sexy and lasts for days on clothes. The initial hit of amyl nitrate (poppers) leads the way to a leather soaked Amber and sandalwood sex romp. I don't get this feeling from many fragrances, and I am so sad this was a limited batch and is currently discontinued. I own the last made bottle ever created. I recently contacted the company and they sold me their last 2 bottles from the vault. (What a great perfume house too. Currently waiting for it in the mail. You bet your behind that I'm going to cherish this one and make it last. Can something be both clean and raunchy at the same time? It feels like a sharp clean fragrance that went on spring break with her gay friends and she tried anal for the first time. I wish I could somehow get my hands on another five bottles just for safekeeping cuz my God I love to wear this.

This fragrance smells niche, and is a bit of an oddball. Once you work your way through the VHS style packaging and get to spraying this sucker I was greeted with an ozonic whiff of poppers (amyl nitrate). Stunned at this turn of novelty, I almost started to not take this fragrance seriously. The packaging and description all exude fun. However, as the smell of poppers is fleeting, what you are left with is a sheer but relatively dark herbal concoction. Amber is the main player here with herbs playing second fiddle - all at even levels of background volume. Where things become interesting is in the drydown stage. Cinnamon ticks up a notch along with saffron and would pair well with a leather jacket. Overall this fragrance has a veneer of humor but waiting brings it's hidden depths, much like the drag queen who inspired it.
