English Lavender Fragrance Mist

I usually mention this in reviews, but I tend to be a lavender snob. I'm around lavender and lavender products with good essential oils frequently, have been since childhood, and it formed a longstanding bias within me. This however, doesn't smell like real lavender at all. It's not an offensive smell by any means, it's even a little pleasant by most standards, but it just bothers me. It's *trying* to be lavender, isn't really, and so it just leaves me unsatisfied. It is clean though, very much so. It smells somewhat like laundry detergent. It also smells a little like a cleaner you might pick up at a health food store. The chamomile doesn't necessarily come through realistically either, but this has a vague herbal quality. It smells aromatic, clean, soapy and green. I'd rather just use this as a room spray, but if you're not a lavender purist (I'm bad about it, I totally admit) you might like this. At any rate, I enjoy this more than the perfume version, if only as an ambient scent.

This is an odd one. On my skin this turns into soapy Johnson’s baby shampoo. That’s it. It’s comforting and clean and nostalgic, but not particularly something I want to smell of. However, used as an air freshener, it’s quite lovely. I get the lavender, a hint of the eucalyptus and clary sage. It’s clean and fresh and very soapy. Longevity and silage are poor but it’s a body mist, and to be honest all my experiences with yardley have had the same.
