Like So Many Other Guerlain Fragrances!! Lace Is Very Much A Green/Mossy Floral Chypre Which I Absolutely Love!! & Which Deffo Get's Nicer The Longer It's On Your Skin!! A soapy powdery nostalgic delight, I know many women in my life who used to have this as their signature scent and some still do, it's a classic nowadays and some may say it's too old school and cheap to be considered a good fragrance, but I beg to differ. To me it's like a cheaper alternative to having something close to the Chanel No 5, White Linen, White Diamonds (also another great cheapie), without the excessive money spend. I know it's a feminine scent, but I buy a bottle from time to time to use on days or nights when I am just going to be at home and read a book or watch either a series or movie. I use it after a morning or night shower, and then relax at home in a fume of soapy powdery goodness. Lasts on me around 4 hours with a moderate projection for 1 hour and thereafter is a skin scent. All in all it's a nostalgic throwback for me to a time where I was a kid surrounded by the women in my life who raised me, and it's comforting. 8.5/10

I was recently gifted a set of Yardley fragrances and Lace was one of them. I thought it would be to mumsy on me because my own mom wore this and Clinique Aromatics Elixir at a stage until she discovered Lancome's Magie Noire. I actually enjoyed this fragrance throughout Autumn. I have an appreciation for aldehydes thanks to an aunt who always wore Chanel No.5. The town I live in now is small and no one but no one wears Chanel No. 5! I found myself missing that familiar scent and similar fragrances so to be gifted Lace made me feel a little bit more elegant. It's beautifully feminine and worthy of always having a bottle handy in a collection for a nostalgia fragrance memory.

(Taylor of London version) Sometimes I just want a perfume that smells like perfume, not food or anything "challenging". Lace is a very perfume-y perfume. Adelhydes, roses, freesia, powdery, soapy, elegant, understated and feminine. A little like beautifully scented linen sheets. I think this pretty little perfume is a hidden treasure. Inexpensive, but no harshness at all, and beautifully lasting For days when you want to small *nice*--that most unappreciated of virtues--Lace is there for you when more currently ominpresent perfumes are not.

I finally found a pharmacy which sells this but it is now sold in a clear bottle with a silver cap and is by 'taylor of london'. This is very much a floral aldehyde fragrance to my nose but this has probably been subject to a reformulation. The original Lace from what I remember when I was younger and produced by Yardley was always a super affordable readily available scent but was good quality - a feminine a green oriental floral/lily of the valley and rose scent. The one I smelled smells just like Panache which is not a good thing.
