Saint Moritz

Imagine strolling about the streets of Korea and you catch a citrusy heavenly whiff of something. The shop assistants are there handing out samples on the street and then... you fall head first for the house's signiture scent. I went in and got a bottle. Two days later I went back to get another because I had a gut feeling that they would not ship this worldwide. (Sadly I am corrrect) This is an insanely good summer scent. Its citrusy, grapefruity with the fig making the scent beautifully rounded. I still love it just as much a year later and that is rare from me. I rarely stick with a scent for this long, but Saint Moritz has won me over by a landslide. It is rather linear, so it won't take you on crazy rides, but honestly, the initial scent stays and projects for up to 7-8 hours without a beat off. It is a what you see what you get situation, so if you like that initial hit you'll be hooked like I was. It's eating itself into my clothes, stays sometimes even after a wash. And I LOVE it. If you are in Seoul I recommend hitting up their store. Most of the scents were pretty good (even if they weren't all my style) and they last similarly eternally long. Berry sexy lasst 6-7 hours without an issue as well. (I'm sad I only got a small bottle of that one.) And the price tag is honestly ridonculously cheap. 11/10, please let me know if you'll ship this to me. :D

St. Moritz is a very light, airy, and sweet uplifting scent , I can understand why they named it after a ski resort. It performs very well despite its fruity-floral profile. I wouldn’t say it resembles Bal d’Afrique, but they’re in the same family. Thought I’d share a little backstory as well : In 2022, I was strolling through the Garosu-Gil district of Seoul when a saleswoman handed me a paper strip with Saint Moritz sprayed on it. Usually, I just throw these away however, this time, I couldn't help but smell it again and again. I had to go back to their store so I did and I bought the 15ml bottle. Unfortunately, I lost the bottle when I left the country, its scent was haunting me. I kept thinking about it, trying to find a way to get it delivered overseas, but to my despair, it wasn’t possible. So when I finally returned to SK, the Youssoful store was my first stop. (I bought two 50ml bottles).

I also am someone who bought the fragrance after being handed a tester strip while walking around Seoul. It felt sweet, clean, and uplifting, but also luxurious. I kept telling myself that I already had enough fragrances at home and had spent so much money during our trip, but the scent on the strip was so addictive that I only made it a few blocks before I had to turn around and walk back to the store. I ended up buying a 15ml bottle of the extrait version which has lasted me a while. Someone else in the reviews said it was in the same family as Bal d'Afrique, which I agree with. I would also say Saint Moritz is what I was hoping Bal d'Afrique would be. I also really enjoyed my experience in the store itself (I was in the Samcheong-dong location). Would definitely go back and repurchase if I'm ever in Seoul again.

Absolute banger. I can see why this is the brand’s best seller. It smells clean, intimate and bright. Initially you get a lovely fig and some grapefruit. The dry down is musky with vanilla orchid and peony. Suitable for all seasons.

Bought this perfume while traveling in Korea (along with two other Youssoful scents) and the smell is so fresh, citrusy, and sweet. I loved the scent on paper, it's tropical, like fresh fruit mixed with a salt air breeze while on vacation. Interestingly enough, I find this perfume to lean more masculine than feminine. I don't think perfume has a gender necessarily, but the dry down on me is a bit similar to men's cologne, which was a disappointment for me. I do think this is a great scent for the price point, and an amazing gift if you're traveling. It's their best seller along with Berry Sexy, which I regretted not picking up instead. I'm not sure if this is a dupe for something else? I have Emporia Cotton as well, another Youssoful scent, and it's an exact dupe for Tom Ford White Suede.

This is a solid, fruit basket type of scent that reminds me of the opening to Byredo's Bal d'afrique. It stays relatively linear throughout the day, highlighted by a citrusy grapefruit with sweet floral supports and a musky base. It is incredibly fresh and best suited for hot, humid summer days. Despite being an extrait, the longevity and projection are relatively middle of the pack with around 5-6 hours of wear and a short to medium projection. Perfectly unisex, anyone can wear this comfortably. If you purchase this in Korea, the price is an incredible deal for a fragrance that is well-blended and smells more expensive than it actually is.

Youssoful Saint Moritz (2021) - citrus amber - A fragrance from my Korean scent collection. The opening is a vibrant burst of citrus, a sparkling blend of Bergamot and Lemon that evokes a sense of Mediterranean sunshine. As it dries down, a warm and inviting Amber emerges, intertwined with a subtle sweetness of Vanilla. The overall effect is a luxurious and uplifting scent that is both energizing and comforting.

Every time I go to a department store there is someone handing out strips of this fragrance and I was tempted for months before finally caving in...I don't regret it one bit! It lasts for forever and overall is a fun and light scent. On it's own it's quite suited for summer but I've been pairing it with Pomegranate Noir from Jo Malone, a scent that I love but is just a bit too dark and masculine for my taste, to make a wonderful winter pair.
