Caviar Bergamot

I loved this collection, I didn't find it banal or overdone at all! Caviar Bergamot is light in texture, musky and zesty and it has a lemon that is finally truly neutral, not too bitter or sour or too sweet, or masculine or harsh, just simply balanced and natural smelling. On me it opens with the usual light and louminous bergamot, just a pinch of grapefruit, treated in a unisex way, giving a refined edge to the scent, and a strong lemon! The effect is truly clean and refreshing. The lemon in this one resambles more that of Carthusia Mediterraneo then, let's say, Zara x Jo Malone Amalfi Sunray, where it is more bitter, and humid and floral. In the middle the ginger makes the lemon much more light and etherial in texture and it is zingy and zesty, nor a spicy or earthy ginger, but there is a good dose of it. Jasmine is light, green and only lightly floral, this works perfectly with the remaining lemon and citrusy notes, it has a bit if a zen and tea quality about it. All the notes blend beautifully. The base is all musk, and the kind of musk I like the most! Fine, subtle, clean and enveloping, and it smells lightly powdery creating a sort of lemony powdery scent that I am enjoying a lot lately. I was sure there was some other note in the base, maybe something "molecular", because for being just musk the base is quite strong. It smells subtle but creates a huge effect, which I guess is what matters. This one is truly unisex, maybe someone could see it as masculine but, to me, at best it smells "boyish", so a mix of clean boyfriend just out of the shower drinking a lemon soda slash clean sheets out on the sun, their smell blending in to one for your pleasure in a base of sexy but conforting musk. Probably it is a fragrance that may be considered banal, the classic overdone, citrusy freshy fragrance but to me it smells really good! There is nothing truly marine as many were anticipating, I would not know why call it Caviar Bergamot but there is that sort of marine breezy effect about it, and it smells like many clean people do after spraying citrusy fragrance while walking on the seafront, there must be something in the base that lightly hints at this sea breezy effect. It remainds me a bit of Dolce&Gabbana Light Blue original edt for women, but more the effect of the base then the lemon. Unfortunatelly it appears to be discontinued, but you never know with Zara, I usually sign up on their email alerts for singular products and from time to time they do return for a few days. Performance was just ok, lasting for about five hours and projecting moderately for the first two, the musk base leaving some trail. Which I guess is not terrible considering it is a Zara and a freshy citrusy fragrance. Bottle with light blue liquid and outer packaging was summery and cute.

After testing +500 fragrances on skin in my life, this is the first one I've ever purchased right after testing. This is exactly my perfect dream pure citrus cologne. There's nothing here to distract from the juicy citrus blend, which is done exactly how I personally like citruses! The opening is mostly bergamot, which you'll recognize if you've smelled the essential oil. After 10 minutes the lemon and grapefruit start to pick up as the bergamot fades. They stick around for 1-2 hours along with ginger, as lemon and grapefruit can be made with aromachemicals that last better than citrus essential oils. After 2 hours you mostly just smell Iso-E Super, which is what's making this last a little longer than the citruses alone. It gives a musky woody smell and can be smelled in the air. Bergamotto di Calabria is definitely the closest dupe and likely inspiration for this. But I prefer this one, as AdP's fragrance is more floral with more lemon. This one is a little more woody and aromatic. There's also more Iso-E Super and thus slightly better performance here. Another fragrance I'm reminded of is Cologne Cedrat by Matiere Premiere. That one has a strong aromatic tea-like mid note that's used to extend the citrus. Here that's also present, just less intensely, helping to slightly extend the citrus. I'm looking forward to burning through my 100 ml by liberally spraying whenever I want a fresh perfect burst of citrus! The price is great.

Beautiful, fresh summer fragrance! 😍 I absolutely love it. Citrusy notes are dominant with just a little touch of sweetness coming through from the back. Just perfect perfume for hot summer days. What surprised me the most is longevity which is phenomenal for citrus based fragrances, lasting for hours on my skin,days on my clothes. Won't say it is dupe for any of the fragrances I'm about to list but if you like D&G Light Blue, Versace Versense, Moschino Cheap & Chic I Love Love ... You will definitely love love this one too. Recommending ❤️

A really good citrusy scent in the style of Zara and Jo Malone. Bright and refreshing, with a clean, crisp character that instantly evokes summer. Notes reminiscent of Madrid, Vetiver Pamplemousse, and Amalfi Sunray blend beautifully, while Caviar stands out as the top favorite — truly addictive and impossible to stop smelling. Fresh, airy, and uplifting, this is an effortless summer fragrance that feels elegant, and easy to wear.

Lovely and fresh, well blended, smells fresh out of the shower. I love wearing it to the gym and to the beach during summertime. Definately unisex but i would only see a younger man, even a teenager, wearing this.

Summer Nights And Good Times Caviar Bergamot. In my stupidity, I immediately associated this perfume with something similar to caviar. The eggs, or roe, of sturgeon, are called caviar. Preserved with salt, we usually eat caviar as an appetizer. Russia and Iram produce the truest caviar from fish taken from the Caspian and Black seas. The best grade, beluga, is prepared from large black or grey eggs; fresh beluga caviar is relatively scarce and thus expensive. Lesser degrees are from smaller, denser eggs. In the U.S., the roe of salmon, whitefish, lumpfish, and paddlefish is sometimes sold under the name caviar. Wait, is that the only definition of caviar? I mean, processed salted roe of large fish such as sturgeon? Luckily enough, other meanings seem more appropriate for a fragrance, such as something considered too delicate or lofty for mass appreciation or something considered the best of its kind. That fits perfectly with Caviar Bergamot. The Jo Malone creation is a citric and aromatic fragrance created around three unique facets: sparkling citruses, delicate flowers, and salty musks. The citrus cocktail features Primofiore lemon. In the province of Siracusa, they cultivate the fruit of Primofiore lemon that ripens between October and March. The high quality of its essential oils range is among the best in the world. About the cologne, if you know Versace pour Homme EAU DE TOILETTE and Dior Homme Cologne (2013), you will find many common points. By this, I do not mean that Caviar Bergamot is a clone of those, but that the perfumes belong to the same family, with many similar traits and similar vibes. Caviar Bergamot appears as a hybrid of the other two. By the way, Caviar Bergamot is part of the Ocean Collection, along with Zara Ocean No1 - Salty Ocean Bouquet and Zara Ocean No4 - Saffron Orange Flowers. Caviar Bergamot, which I would have called Caviar Lemon for the strong dominance o f this citrus, reveals itself with a boost of citrus. A clean and citric quality that it’s like drinking freshly squeezed lemon, grapefruit, and bergamot juice. To my nose, the three citrus fruits are slightly unbalanced, and the fragrant lemon prevails over the others, followed by the sweet and sour tones of grapefruit and just a touch of bergamot. Oddly, this citric accord lasts long, and the citrus notes continue in the heart. The lemon is very prominent upon that initial blast and remains for the duration of the perfume. So, just be prepared for that. The initial scent is relatively strong, but not in the wrong way. Caviar Bergamot starts strong and mellows out as time passes. The spiciness of ginger announces the entrance of the heart. This juicy, spicy root pairs with lemon juice while keeping the heart chord fresh. Besides a flowery and indolic aspect because of the presence of white jasmine flowers, I perceive dusty and powdery facets as if there were also the root of the iris. The heart is sunny and warm, with reflections reminiscent of gin-tonic and bergamot martini. After the initial hour, the amber and musk notes emerge more and balance the fragrance. It still has that bright, citrusy behavior, but I get more intense undertones of floral notes and musky herb-based spice. At times, it can feel quite powdery and slightly soapy. As I wrote above, Caviar Bergamot starts excellent for me. The sillage is damn loud upon application. As the cologne stabilizes, it becomes a more moderate fragrance overall. It’s not very long-lasting, half a day on my skin, but it’s usually adequate for everyday purposes. Plus, considering this is a spring and summer citrus fragrance, that time frame isn’t wrong. Seasonally, this hits me like a summer scent. I suppose you could wear it at any time of the year, but it always felt out of place to me. In cold winter temperatures, I prefer amber and resinous scents. However, if you live in a humid climate, Caviar Bergamot is a fragrance option that excels in those conditions. You can wear it to work, to the gym, or informally, and it works very well. You could wear it casually for a hassle-free evening or go to a fancy dinner with friends. Capturing complements, people seem to appreciate the aroma. It’s light, and it’s breezy, but not aqua-breezy. I like Caviar Bergamot; it is simply the cologne for me. It doesn’t blow my socks off, nothing disruptive, but it smells good clean, and fresh. It is genderless and fits perfectly with a man, even if ZARA exhibits it in the women’s department. Besides, no tobacco or deep woody notes make this particularly masculine. Ultimately it gives you a pretty simple clean citrus smell and is almost universally pleasant. There are aspects that I like, the dominance of the Primofiore lemon. In particular, the opening act, where it is brighter and semi-aquatic citrus, and the amber and slightly salty finish. I base the review on a 90ml bottle I have owned since July 2022.

So, I went to Zara pretty set on trying and buying Salt Ocean Bouquet since I was on the hunt for a summer scent suited for very high temperatures. However, when tested in the shop, I was not convinced so I reached for the Caviar Bergamot. Instantly, I preferred it so much more! It could be because it has a way stronger citrus presence and less of that musky saltiness if I can call it that. I can't wait to see how this will behave in very hot weather. In my opinion, this is a unisex fragrance. I can see it being worn by people of all ages due to the focus on freshness over specific notes that lean more mature or youthful.

Tried at the store in Barcelona and, as usual, i totally disagree with the votes here :-) The scent is very good, fresh, juicy, likeable. Very unisex, i think everybody can wear it. As for the performance, i didn’t see any problem. It lasted a good amount of hours and i could smeel its wafts coming from my arm. Maybe people think that every perfum has to perform like a 80s rose fragrance? Or too many strong fragrances and more than one per day have changed their calibration of smelling. It’s sold in 90ml and 10ml bottles (23€ / 6€)

I’m not sure if it’s because I own many other citrus perfumes and have grown anosmic, but this is quite literally here this moment and gone the next. Nonetheless it is a fantastic scent, the best of the ocean trio IMO. Citric with a sweet airiness at the back. Good body splash for a hot day. Edit: there’s a dry down lingering 2 hours later which smells like a more pleasant version of MMM Bubble Bath.

Very summery, fresh citrusy fragrance. the projection is not the greatest though.

The new line, Zara Ocean, is the first Zara x Jo Malone collab of which not a single scent is worthy of a full bottle purchase IMO. Which is a shame, because the subject has a lot to offer and has been expertly done before. This Zara collection is just kind of muddled and mediocre, been-there-done-that sort of thing. If I had to buy a bottle, it would be Caviar Bergamot, but just because it is a solid, likeable, easy-going freshie. However, it is also remarkably similar to Zara x Jo Malone's own Creatively Shanghai, and I already have bottle of that, thus it's redundant. A missed opportunity, methinks.

This one sounded the most promising out of the line for me but ended up being a very generic lemon musk type cologne. The performance is very weak on this one too. If you're after a masculine citrus aquatic fragrance go for No. 1 Salty Ocean Bouquet. It has better legs and smells much higher quality. No 4. Saffron & Orange Flowers is a completely different fragrance to these two.

I love the smell however longevity and projection is very poor like lots of Zara fragrances. After 1 hour I can barely smell it on skin and that’s with plenty of sprays. Maybe it’s just my skin but Fashionably London Elixir by Jo Malone/Zara lasts for hours on skin and much louder projection. Unfortunate really, if it lasted longer it would be perfect for summer

Having heard that it was a wonderful scent, I was really disappointed when it turned out to smell cheap. I realized once again that I shouldn't expect too much from fast-fashion perfumes. It just doesn't harmonize with the summer in Japan, in East Asia. At best, it smells like a cleaning detergent for the kitchen or bathroom—it doesn't even come close to something like Afternoon Swim or other citrus perfumes. So disappointing.

In my skin this smells like a washing machine soap but not in a good way. Also tried on fabric since I like it on paper so much. Hard pass. :(

Half the fragrances in the world have the same bergamot start but that's ok, right? What comes after is interesting, A clean-shaved soapy texture, as if under a glass, as if made of porcelain or the shiny white surface of a washing machine. As for "caviar", I'm reminded of Ferran Adria's invention of apple caviar which according to Anthony Bourdain, has the texture of caviar and the pure taste of apple, a familiar taste in an unfamiliar shape. I like all kinds of traditional soap: this is more than welcome. Later on, jasmine and ginger start to linger more and more tangibly, adding a little color and detail over the bland soapy texture; musk becomes warmer and more bodily: best thing a base note can do after all. Long story short, this is really an interesting one.

I dont get what zara considers mens fragrance, and what do they consider womans fragrance, and i dont think they know either anymore. My girlfriend wears a lot of womans Light blue by dolce gabanna, and this immedately reminded me of it. That doesnt mean this is a bad fragrance though, and that fragrances need to be put in men or womens catalogue, but as someone whos smelt this far too often on women i would suggest for men to not buy it.

It’s not exactly the same as Dior Homme sport or the former Zara fragrance ” from New York to Paris ” This one have a more zesty almost bitter opening first minute then goes more towards powdery floral notes mixed with citrus. So addictive. I would recommend as a safe blind buy for those who appreciate citrus fragrances with a twist.
