For Him Red Edition

This bottle is a blind buy, and it turns out to be surprisingly amazing. After the initial test, I read some reviews here and watched some videos reviews on Youtube, and learned that most people compare it to BR540 by MFK. Then I went to the store and smelled BR540. I do agree with those remarks that this is a dupe of BR540. This is a sweeter yet less "complicated" version. I am attracted to the initial sprays. It is sweet, almost candy-like, yet warm and deep. It smells delicious as a well made dessert, yet not cloying. Normally I am not a fan of gourmand perfumes, as I often find them too sweet, like syrup sticking to my skin. However, this one has the "right" level of sweetness to my nose. It is a very simple perfume. That's why I would say, compared to BR540, it does not have that much depth. On my skin it can last the whole day, and I have received compliments in my office. This is a beautiful perfume for cold days. It comforts you, it warms you up. If you are looking for either a cheap substitute for BR540, or simply a cheapie with good performance for winter, I highly recommend this bottle.

Another Baccarat Rouge copy in the market. Great version for the price. Lovely and comfy Fragrance! It gives a lot of childhood memories, like eating sweet caramelized popcorn memmories! Zara version is vey sinthetic and has more citrus and fresh notes than the original Baccarat Rouge. Opens more sweet, like a caramelized orange slice, than the sugary melts and becomes more citrus, fruity and ambared based fragrance with some pink pepper notes and soft powdery nuance. I love the way that the amber was worked as a sugar and caramelized smell in the beginning. Well done. Very simple, easy to use works good, any moment and most of any temperature. Great for office and signature scent IMO, use this at temperturate under 25oC (not very hot summer day) It has more romantic side, this is awesome for dating. Totally genderless Great perfomance: 7-8 hours lomgevity Great sillage for 3 hours. I can notice a friend of mine who wears Zara Red for Him for 3 meters far from me. Even it has a strong sillage, it doesn't annoy anyone

i have tested both zara for him red and br540 side-by-side and i find that it's a 95% match. zara's version has a slight sharper/spicier note included but maintains the br540 dna, while br540 smells soft throughout in comparison. longevity for zara's is moderate, sillage is moderate, but of course falls after a while, roughly 6-8 hours. overall it is a very good resemblance and to the normal person there wouldn't be any difference. would recommend if you don't want to spend the hundreds of dollars. i have also tested the 'intense' version. the intense version takes a little bit longer to work, and i feel like there is a slight difference in notes, as when i tried it, it didn't hit the same as the non intense version did. tl;dr zara for him red : 95% match and smells like it instantly (although slight alcohol opening) zara for him red intense : takes a while to start smelling the same, but only 85% the similarity, and does last longer (in my experience)

br540 dupe without a prominent saffron/latex/dentist office/bromine note. this is either good or bad depending on who you are. not an exact clone. because of this, the moss comes out more prominent when smelled up close. the citrus is extremely rare to pick up, if it all. it would be a great twist to add a touch more orange or bergamot just to brighten it up. has the same airy, transparent quality. best smelled in the air just like the original. though it's sweet, it's not cloying or heavy. either due to the high chance of going anosmic or the intrinsic wispy quality to it. sillage isn't great which is super safe for everyday use. creates a nice bubble though. performance is mixed depending on your environment. on dry days it's gone within a few hours, but in humid days it performs well at around 5-6 hours. last long on clothes. well worth the money, would absolutely recommend to anyone that likes the br dna but doesn't like the saffron.

Ladies don’t let the FOR HIM confuse you - this is completely unisex. I love it on my husband but also feel comfortably feminine when I wear it. It is sweet. No latex or rubber vibes. When I wear it I do find it does a disappearing act (sometimes not always) but when my hubby wears it I smell it long & strong lol. I have a lot of BR540 dupes and clones (mostly because I enjoy the scent profile but refuse to pay the OG prices when I go noseblind to it) and this is one of my favorites. Not a spot on dupe for the OG BR540 but Zara’s take on it in this version is gorgeous. I am on my 3rd bottle. I don’t care for Red Temptation EDP or Elixir but Red for him is truly beautiful. Try it on yourself and your SO wether you are male or female! It’s super affordable, the bottle is cute and it smells divine. Highly recommend to all and hope that Zara keeps this in their lineup for a long time to come.

I tried this at the Zara shop yesterday, when I first sprayed it, I smelled a sweet citrus scent, which was extremely nice for someone who dislikes citrus perfumes like me. Then I moved around for about 15 minutes, and to my surprise, I couldn't smell any scent from this perfume anymore, at all. Then I sprayed it on my body before leaving the store at 2 p.m., and I went on a walk around the city where I live until 8 p.m., during which time the perfume would arrive and leave extremely sweetly and lovely, like a teenage girl, making me assume that I was noseblinded by this scent.

This is 80% similar to BR540 with an orange zesty feel to it, If you love the BR540 DNA but more masculine leaning, this is it! It has the same airy sweet, effervescent and slightly metallic quality like BR540, however, for the price, it obviously projects less than the real thing but the longevity on me is the same, very office and day to day wear friendly. Honestly, I have been obsessing with this fragrance since I bought a bottle two weeks ago, I am thinking of buying another one because it selling out in my country. It is so good, really worth it! 🤭

I smelled this fragrence from 2 meters in a cafe in uae twice passing from that person, asked r u using baccarat rouge ? He said no but he let me see it. So far we kept talking aht perfumes n he was so generous he gifted me this gem. And till now I have wore it 3 times and people have asked each time I used it. Same as br people might be anosmic to it but to me its amazing thing from zara. Performs great 👍.

Sweet spiced oranges with a warm crystallized amber, very much 'BR540 pour Homme' vibes. This is less sweet to my nose than the Red Temptation offering, and lasts much longer too, all day. Projects strongly for the first hour or so, settles down into slightly above arms' length. Perfect for spring, autumn, and winter, much too stifling in the summer heat.

Not my colleague asking: "Why do you smell like a burned sugar?" And only thing i did i spray two times on my inner elbow, lol. This is by far one of the best performing fragrances by Zara. Even i can smell it constantly around me with just two sprays and is smells amazing too. I say buy this gem while you still can, i just ordered another bottle.

It's absolutely amazing i would say. Got it today and it smells almost identical to one of my favorites from Zara, Night Pour Homme V. It's very, very good BR540 clone and there isn't much to add. Performance is above average if not very good. This is a great value for anyone that like BR540 and that cotton candy/burned sugar type of fragrances.

This really stands out. It is alluring, sexy, mysterious, spicy and sweet. It is black lace and crimson brocade with a vintage “noir” vibe. It smells much more complex than the three notes listed above. I had never heard of evernyl. It must be the catalyst that ignites this exotic elixir. This is date night, definitely.

Why do I feel like this perfume smells more like a warm vanilla? I tested it and it smells GREAT anyway, I applied it at around 17:00, its currently 00:10 and it still smells a little, knowing that I have touched things with my hand, it’s really good, perfect scent.

Was anyone able to sample new For Him Red Edition Intense? The notes are totally different from this one so i guess it's a flanker and not the "perfume" version of this? Why is Fragrantica usually late with adding the new releases from Zara?

I just got the 3rd Bottle, is my fave fragrance to wear daily. I get a lot of compliments, the lasting is not the best but the smell is so sweet but not too strong and is the best Dupe of Baccarat Rouge 540

I've been through some of the Zaras juices and for me, this is the best one so far. Excellent, cozy, warm amber. Probably duped high-quality juice (BR 540). If only it lasted longer on my skin...

Baccarat Rouge clone, better than Zara Red Temptation in my opinion, it's more balanced and well rounded overall. Also perfarmances are pretty good and again ,better than Red Temptation.

It's a good fragrance to start out with on a budget. Saying this because it was my very first sweet fragrance and lots of girls complimented me on dates for it

Great clone of Bacarat Rouge. Not too sweet or cloyung, more for man than unisex. Great longetivity for ZARA fragrances, I get 7-8 hours on clothes even more.

I can smell this but can't smell BR540 extrait. This is creamy and sweet and easily worth the money they are charging.

EDIT: Now available in combo with the body spray for the same exact price 🤎 This is a beast performing fragrance! Last all day and projects like crazy...could it be that some people go anosmic to it? Because on me (dry skin, that eats fragrances) performs like a 100€ bottle. It's not the exact same as Zara Red Tempation for her or the old Red Tempation for him (which really were the same fume in different bottle), they have their differences. In this one you can really smell the orange in the opening and it is distinguishable for a while, nothing citrus though, more like sweet fruit. There is no medicinal/dentist/saffron/burnt rubber/latex nuances, so if you are looking for the Baccarat experience without that particular note then this is it! Of course the body here is the crystallized amber, same as in Baccarat Rouge and all the clones (you know the drill by now), warm and sexy. It is sweet, yes, but it is merit of the amber more so then the ethil maltol/praline (it is less sweet then Red Temptation). Still sweet to be clear, but not really specific as candy floss or burnt sugar, such as in Red Temptation. Also, this really departs from the others in the usage of evernyl in the base, similar mossyness that is in Baccarat Rouge and Red Temptation, but more masculine and pronounced. I could describe the evernyl here as something that hugs the other ingredients, creating a cloud of mossyness around them. Quite airy. It is more masculine, but still unisex. Probably even more refined then Red Tempation. The scent is linear, more a complex odor then a pyramid construction (such is the case also with Baccarat Rouge, from where all started!). It is airy, and surrounds you. Perfect for layering. As for the resemblance to Baccarat Rouge...what can I say? That has now become a genre in and out of itself I feel..so yes, similar, but lacks especially its saltiness (ambergris), it's refinement and even a bit of the sweetness. No, it is not a dupe for Baccarat Rouge Extract...where is the warm base and the nuts?? All in all, very valid perfume, nice packaging that fits the juce well and at such good price. Another Zara win.

I knew nothing about this scent prior to receiving it as a thoughtful gift. It's honestly a pretty simple, straight-forward scent as the notes would tell. On first spray, it has a slightly alcoholic feel but only for a second. The amber and orange notes combine and morph into a very specific type of dry, oddly sweet musk that these types of scents are known for. It's honestly hard to describe, but it reminds me of eating a tangerine with its musky, not very citrusy sweetness. I've never smelled BR540. I know this is considered a dupe and a good quality one at that, so I'd be interested to smell BR540 at one point to compare. I was surprised not to see any comparison to Instant Crush by Mancara, which I own and enjoy a lot. Instant Crush is also considered a BR540 dupe/clone, and it shares the same amber/musky/citrus character as Red Edition, with Red Edition smelling much more simplified but also lacking the airy saffron and florals that make Instant Crush so great. As far as this being unisex, I do think the dark, resinous amber and musky notes make this lean towards masculine. I would say this is wearable in most settings that cologne would be appropriate. However, this is absolutely not something that can be sprayed heavily in an enclosed environment, and should probably not be used at all in a professional environment or around any sensitive people. I think this is a great scent for someone looking into BR450 or other similar scents, or for someone who wants to try something new. If I hadn't already owned Instant Crush, which is very similar but much more special in my opinion, I probably would have been more impressed initially. Overall, considering the price, I give this a solid 8/10.

Sweeter and better overall than Red Temptation EDP for me, its "female" counterpart. The best performing Zara fragrance for men although that's not high praise, expect 3-4 hours with 1 hour of projection, lasting longer on clothes. You could do worse honestly, a lot of designer fragrances have this same performance and are leagues more expensive. I don't carry decants to reapply through the day so I'll not be buying it again. For me the scent itself is interesting, but extremely linear, found the need to scrub it off every once in a while. On the first whiff, all I could smell was latex gloves and the resin used at the dentist for temporary tooth fillings. I got the scent eventually and it's fine; apparently, it's a common thing. Try it out if you want to get an idea of what all that fuss is about with that expensive MFK fragrance we all know of.

Just picked this one up after smelling both the women's and the men's version in store. I also own BR540 edP. I would say this smells a lot closer to BR540 than the women's version. Red Temptation has a clear BR540 vibe in the opening but vanishes insanely fast on me. The version for Him packs a lot more punch and sticks around a lot longer. I don't find it any more masculine than the original BR540. On me it's just as sweet. Obviously some of the depth of the original is missing and the original projects a lot more. It is, however, a very decent clone and I mean to use it for more mundane days when I don't really feel like 'waisting' the real stuff, but still want to feel a bit of that vibe around me. So, even as a woman I opted for the 'for him' version rather than the women's Red Temptation. Absolutely unisex, great budget alternative.

smells like a warm and sweet fragrance which can be portrayed by the amber, but also has a sort of dark and intensive scent to it. It has a good amount of longevity, I sprayed it 4-6 times and could smell it throughout the day till the point that I felt nauseous. Its a good value for the buck, got this for around $20. It is a dark and cool fragrance, definitely for winter season. It can also be worn by women without issues although it is a strongly male scent. I would recommend wearing it if you have to be somewhere elegant. Turns out Zara makes great dupes of popular fragrances, this one is probably very similar to BR540

to me, this gives an attracting sexy smell. great for nightly events, going out, or a date night. can be unisex but I think its a bit masculine leaning. great fragrance that lasts HOURS ill go to sleep with it on and smell it the next day so around 10-12 more on clothes and really big projection. love the scent but it can be a bit one demential as you can see there aren't a lot of notes so you are getting the same scent from spraying it on til hours later so although its a great scent you'll be smelling the exact same thing the whole time you have it on. 8.4/10

It's pretty similar to BR540 with a bit more orange peel to it. BR smells sweeter and this smells more bitter but it's not a bitter fragrance at all just less sweet than BR540. It's also pretty flat what you smell is what you get. It has that weird thing where immediately off skin it smells like rubbing alcohol but as it dries and lingers in the air it smells very pleasant. 2 sprays lasts for about 6 hours more or less and can be smelled within arm's length. For $36 for 100ml it's an incredible fragrance

This was my first taste of the "BR540" DNA. I very much loved this fragrance and bought another one right after finishing my first, but there are a few things that made me not buy it anymore. First, the longevity of this perfume. It lasts for 4 hours max even on skin. Second, it's price. It is priced at around the same as many BR540 clones with better longevity. Lastly, they changed the packaging to a non-clear shiny bottle. Longevity is around 2-4 hours, projection is 1-2 hours.

I'm not exactly a fan of the weird burnt sugar br540 genre, but there's something interesting in this one. I like smelling it sometimes, but I wouldn't go out wearing it :) Insane performance for zara "levels", it projects for hours and I can smell it on my skin even 12h later. None of the known "monsters" from armaf, rasasi, afnan or even designers that I have is nowhere near this.

This is a nice alternative to BR540. The evernyl note in this fragrance gives it a GREEN touch to the fragrance, that BR540 edp & extrait do not have. Anyone else’s nose pick up the green element? Either way, this is a nice fragrance with moderate longevity and nice sillage. I find it to be unisex masculine leaning (which is fine by me).

I never smelled BR540 but projection is good on me, longevity not so much, about 3 to 4 hours. And it’s so cheap, I have no problems reapplying it during the night. Does it also smell cheap? Maybe, but the DNA is so synthetic (comparing it to AG Cloud too), that I don’t think it’d make a huge difference, in the air.

This is a dupe of BR540..... A very lite version of it. If you have smelled BR540 this version is drydown after 3 hours passed by. It doesn’t have a strong projection. At the opening it has some strong alcohol to it but fades quickly going into the dry down. I enjoy BR540 this will be used during summer time

Pulled the trigger on this one on special at Zara for $23. I was not the biggest fan of Red Temptation and gave it away. The orange note in this one is done much better to my nose. Can't comment on longevity yet but seems to be average which is perfectly fine for me.

smells extremely similar to the OG BACCARAT. Get this instead. Amazing projection, lasts forever. Seriously, I know ZARA gets a bad rep for their longevity and projection, but this. this is amazing.

In paper it is sweet, lovely and subtle. But when i put on my skin or clothes changes to a synthetic smell like some kind of wood furniture cleaner or car tires soap

The "masculine" dupe of Bacarat Rouge 540—it's strange to think there's a masculine version of BR540, because it's a unisex perfume with a clear feminine bent, but here we go. For Him is a line that generally favors elegant scents within Zara, and I understand that in 2022, BR540 was just starting to make waves in the perfume world. Today, the story is very different. For Him Red Edition is a minimalist perfume with three declared notes. It opens with a citrus burst that lasts for seconds, like a prelude to the true protagonists: amber and evernil. Evernil is a synthetic moss, which, unlike the classic earthy scent of natural moss, has a sweet, unique sweetness—somewhere between metallic and sweet—a strange smell, since it doesn't exist naturally. Without looking at the chart, this smells like BR540, with an almost 90% similarity. It's a burnt candy scent, like cotton candy, metallic, ambery, and synthetic, resulting in a kind of room lined with a red carpet where miles of cotton candy have been made, and those particles have stuck to the carpet—a suede carpet, elegant, sharp, with its own degree of rarity and exclusivity, like a scent that comes from another dimension. BR540 is a milestone in the history of perfumery, especially for women. It's perhaps the biggest phenomenon in 21st-century women's perfumery, perhaps on par with Guerlain's Shalimar or Chanel No. 5. Obviously, with that level of impact, it's a highly controversial perfume, and that's important to understand for those who are unsuspecting. For Him Red Edition is heavily inspired by BR, and the scent is very similar, difficult to distinguish in the air, but not impossible. BR540 is a milestone in the history of perfumery, especially for women. For me, it's a 2/4. As a dupe, it's adequate despite several weaknesses, mainly the opening and performance. The opening is extremely alcoholic. As for the performance, if diluted, it lasts 6 hours, with moderate projection for about an hour, and the rest of the time it's a skin scent, a kind of veil that envelops you and floats like lava over you. Is there a difference? Yes, slightly, but there is. I'll say something that's an open secret: BR is easy to clone because its ingredients are exaggerated. It's a perfume you don't need a lot of money to dupe, but we say that Zara went for the most budget-friendly version of the same perfume, and it shows in its potency. It's a perfume that aims to be elegant, for a date, and in temperate climates. Unfortunately, due to overexposure of the same DNA, the perfume lost some of that status. That's why I started with For Him. Personally, I'm not a fan of this DNA, but it's true that its identity is very successful, and the scent is objectively good. Is it recommended? I don't know, I think if you're looking for compliments from women, it might work because its effect on women is undeniable, but it's not a powerful, masculine, or exclusive perfume these days. I recommend it if you like DNA and don't mind using unisex perfumes; it's quite affordable.

I was curious to try For Him Red due to its similarities to BR540. I tried the tester on a strip in the local Zara store and I was amazed how deliciously it smelled. So I dropped the 20 euros and got the bottle. The problem is it lasts for literally minutes once sprayed on the skin. After 10 mins my wife didn't notice I was wearing this...and I've even asked if she liked it. For me it is completely unusable as a fragrance. I will try other BR540 dupes hoping to be luckier (Al Haramain will be the next).

Am basing my opinion as comparison to red temptation for her by zara, this is less sweet, less alcoholic, less synthetic with no burnt rubber/ burnt sugar smell in it, I don't get the citrus/orange smell everyone is talking about which is a pity All in all I prefer this to red temptation for her by zara, Longevity isn't bad but the bottle nozzle is leaking eventhough it was brand new and sealed I will need to set it aside to mature a bit

Great cheap perfume for night outs if you want to stand out, since you WILL stand out. But is it a positive head turner? Not generally. Put this on, and people either really love or abhor you. No in between. Some love the boozy sweetness, others say it feels like I used too much soap. Got it as a gift from my mother. Bless her heart, but I really wish she didn't have.

Definitely reformulated recently! I bought a bottle of this in November and it was phenomenal, strong, long lasting, you'd have to wash it out of your clothes. It's been out of stock for a while, I just went to buy a new bottle and it's not even close to what it was, maybe 30% as strong as before, still cheap but really disappointing considering what it was

The fragrance itself gives warmth, smells sweet and sour and has depth. However, the longevity is nonexistent even if you spray it on your clothes. This is the problem with all Zara fragrances, the ones that I still detect hours later are usually aquatic and have blue colored liquids in the bottles.
