Vento di Vetiver

This is a banger. Great scent for men 30 and up, which is an uplifting, well performing, all-rounder. Slightly smoky vetiver but comes across mostly as soft, clean and with a smooth musk. Lightly green but again in a clean, non-abrasive way, with a Mediterranean feel. There's something a bit mineralic and bubbly, but with softness. The whole thing is really well balanced and of excellent quality. It's surprisingly long lasting from my testing so far. Need to test the projection more intently though before commenting on that reliably. I can see someone liking this if they enjoy things like the ADP Colonia line, some of the ADG line (like Essenza), Bois Imperial, and the Terre d'Hermes line.

I use clean vetiver fragrances for work, relying mostly on TF Grey Vetiver and EP Bois Imperial. However, Vento di Vetiver has moved ahead of these as my first choice. It's initially reminiscent of Grey Vetiver, but as it dries down, the lemon verbena and Haitian vetiver shine through to produce a wonderful clean-fresh scent. Unlike other Zara fragrances, it doesn't tire to a generic base as it dries down (most often tonka or amber). This stays the course, retains it's freshness, and never becomes fatiguing like many designer fragrances do for me (Hermes, Guerlain). The more interesting Zara fragrances tend to have a limited run, so check it out while you can. Great value at €23 for 100ml

Nice, mature, masculine scent. The vetiver here is earthy, but not dirty. For me, it has almost like a (suble) leather facet. This is not a sweet take on this note. There's definitely something warm in the background, maybe a mix of coumarin and vanillin, but it's very subtle. The overall impression is a fresh, earthy, spicy scent. In a sense, it's like a diluted, less complex, less sweet version of Vetiver Cologne from Roja. This is better than Encre Noire. £25, seriously, just get it if you like vetiver.
