Coliva - Gourmand Potion

θρ smells like the feeling of being 5 again and opening an big tin of crayola crayons to color while the autumn breeze hits you through your bedroom window. sweet, complex and nostalgic... (it smells exactly like crayola crayons.) 11/10

I'm not sure if I'm the first Romanian to review this perfume here, but let me start by saying: this does not smell like colivă. If you were, like me, hoping to find some wheat/powdered sugar/chocolate bonbon note in this fragrance, it's (IMO) completely absent. In fact, I get absolutely no gourmand notes from it. It doesn't smell sweet at all and I can't detect the white chocolate. What I can detect *intesely* though, is incense, with maybe a slight floral twist. TL;DR: It smells like attending a wedding ceremony in an Orthodox church. Some of the guests are wearing floral perfumes, but the main scent in the air is incense.

Burnt Bran and Puppies..I am so confused by this one. I get walking outside of a bakery that burnt a bran muffin while cuddling a puppy on the way to church😳

I was originally going to blind buy this, but now I'm happy that I didn't. I got a sample from scent split with some other indie scents like this, and I'm happy I didn't get a full bottle. This scent is a very strange soft smell because of the white chocolate, cacao, vanilla and a mid-bread note, yet it was also dirty and not put together in a bad way. It also makes my nose tingle in a weird way. Plus, I can currently smell it on my hand as I'm typing this a foot away from me, and to me that is to a point where it may even become too strong and overbearing because of the strength combined with the dirtiness. I love the house of Adi ale van, but this is a disappointing scent.

The notes I get are mostly the musk, the landanum and animalic notes (somewhat similar to the ambergris scent), with a very slight undertone of white chocolate, butter and some greens. It is good but maybe not as a first fragrance, I would say it requires some experience to wear and enjoy. Overall it is good, but I would not say it is gourmand even though there is a gourmand undertone, since it is so faint.

This is very reminiscent of an old wood box, that mightve been used to store pastries and other sweet cake/bread products, when i first sprayed it, i thought it kinda smelled like a stale pillowcase full of halloween candy, and now it very much is a wooden box with a strong sweetness, the puppy comparison is odd and i do not see such a thing, dog breath is extremely unpleasant, and this is far from that, there is a muskiness in a more warm and beaverish way rather than a deerish way, maybe wet dog or dog fur in general is more appropriate than "dog breath",and dont forget the bottle and box! What beautiful presentation, makes the experience all the much better, the bottle is a shining star in my collection, what an eye grabber! this is quite great and i am very glad i was able to receive this, will be perfect for this upcoming winter.

Guess im the first to write a review for this Coliva by Adi Ale Van Coliva is a gourmand combined with an airy churchy smell - i usually dont like churchy scents but this is actually good! (the type of church smell is very similar to toskovat take me to church Starts off Gourmand, turns airy and churchy, maybe even slightly metal ish drydown is a buttery vanilla combined with some other sweet notes, will update this as soon as i test it even more, but its really good so far

White chocolate, bready, and musky. At first, it reminded me of a warm, soft white chocolate coffee creamer. There’s a slight animalic vibe, almost like puppy breath, with milky hints from the butter note. It smells great on my skin and is definitely worth trying if you enjoy lactonic, musky scents.

Opening coffee, vanilla, and dry-down animalic notes got stronger; I can't even wash the smell away, but it smells really nice. art, imo
