Magman

Magman is quickly becoming one of my favorite colognes and it was a blind buy. It was in the middle of a pile of discounted colognes and perfumes that I never heard of. And there it was in a strange black and white box...begging me to give it a shot. A quick look at my smartphone showed very little information about this cologne and only one review. So I forked out my hard earned dollars and prayed I did not buy a flop and miss out on a happy meal. I was in for a surprise. The first spray on my wrist was strong and mesmerizing yet confusing to describe. I am not too familiar with all the notes it has on the description but why do I smell something that is not there. Something smooth and dark like chocolate soda but there is no chocolate or soda in this brew! But its only in that instant moment I spray it on myself I get that aroma...it must be the nutmeg! But right after that it ventures into niche territory but also takes a page from CK One Shock and Drakkar Noir to become Superman...oops I meant Magman! OK so I am over hyping this cologne but indeed the more I have worn it the more I have enjoyed it. I have upgraded the longevity and sillage on Magman after I found myself asking "Damn that smells good...is that me?" It dries down nicely to a soft dark spice which is perfect for the night. Fresh and spicy indeed it takes from Drakkar and its bold dark mix is similar to CK One Shock...minus the tobacco. Although I do not know if Shock came before or after Magman. Oh well who cares just try the damn thing...it must be the nutmeg! 9 out of 10

Magman is outstanding.I ALMOST feel guilty that I only paid $12 with free shipping for this fragrance. Spend the 12 bucks! Do it right now and thank me after you have received it and had the opportunity to wear it. I sprayed it on today around 2pm and I can still clearly smell the base notes on my hand. I'm wearing this right now in about 50 degree weather. This juice would be KILLER in warm weather I'm guessing. It's safe to say that Magman will stay in my collection. Ash, I sent you a PM letting you know that I purchased it off of Ebay.

wooah, this smells just like the price of it; sweet and cheap! stear away folks and don't believe everything you read! this bad blind buys are the reason I'm thinking more and more of quitting buying perfumes online. it's almost a 50/50 chance of not liking what "everybody" else is liking. sorry, it's a no for me, once again....

A great scent for the $5/100 ml I paid! This was released the same year as Aventus, and after wearing the "clone," CdNI for Men, then this one a few days later, I realized it's probably one of the earliest attempts at an Aventus-like scent. At Parfumo the notes are a bit different, but also suggest something like Aventus: Top Notes: Bergamot, Pineapple, Nutmeg, Cumin Heart Notes: Rosewood, Apple, Jasmine, Lily-of-the-valley, Plum Base Notes: Vanilla, Musk, Patchouli, Amber This one doesn't have the dry birch/"chemical" quality of CdNI for Men, and the plum/prune adds a bit of a twist to things (some might also point to the cumin, but that note never seems to register with much strength for me). At the low prices it sells for, it might be the best Aventus type of scent, since it smells natural, isn't too close to Aventus, and has no major downside. It dries down to a more ambery scent than Aventus' ambroxan, and it has some depth to it, so I'd call this a cross between Aventus and a light version of what one might expect from a Lutens scent, perhaps Five O'Clock Au Gingembre. Not "niche quality" (in terms of what that used to mean a decade or so ago) but not too far off!
