Violet Gem

PASSIONFRUIT and VIOLET ?! FANTASTIC !!!!!! WHAT GENIUS THOUGHT OF THIS UNIQUE GEM ?! It's a truly inspiring combination!!!! Wow. What inventiveness! It's fresh, fruity, floral, aquatic, tropical (and I can not stop smelling my own wrist, which I'm sure looks strange). Perfect for warm and hot weather. The bottle is a gorgeous light violet colored glass with gold stars that don't show up properly in the fragrantica database official photo, so I'll probably add one to the fragram for accuracy. Violet Gem is not very strong, and doesn't last all day, but that's just fine with me. I've never encountered this incredible blend of passionfruit and violets before. Incredible. Did I say incredible? Because it is incredible. The only downside is when it really fades, all the remaining notes end up blending like shampoo. At that point it's a little lackluster... that takes a couple of hours to reach that point. I think it's gentle enough for an office work environment. My oh my, I am in love with this fragrance, and so is my family and friends. They all want to smell me, or wear it themselves!

This takes me right back to an early-90s college fraternity formal, when all the girls passed around Victoria's Secret Tranquil Breezes body lotion! Tranquil Breezes was the scent of college for me. I loved that stuff and have been looking for something similar ever since it was discontinued. I finally found it! I first got this scent through Scent Bird and then purchased a full bottle. It's not creamy like TB was - it is a bit more cool and sparkly, but I still get the cucumber fresh vibe I remember. This is perfect for everyday summer wear and thankfully lasts a long time on my skin. It makes my little Gen X heart happy.

This is a truly fresh fragrance. On me I definitely get the melon, cucumber and passion fruit strong in the opening, but as it dries down the violet and sandalwood add something special. This really is meant to be a Spring and Summer scent and though it currently is winter I still wear this occasionally as it really is pretty and different from my usual fruity scents.

I love it, but wish it was a little more . . . forceful. I was hoping for the violet scents of my girlhood, like Avon's Raining Violets, which lasted for a long time. But this is lovely, perfect for daytime, and I'll certainly wear it this spring.

This is lovely! It reminds me of Cool Water, but with sweet pea & violet replacing the citrus. It's inoffensive, pretty and refreshing. Solid love.
