Catharsis

Catharsis is an interesting and intense perfume produced By coreterno. The opening is very powerful, harsh and even a bit sinthetic but to the dry down the perfume becomes much more weareable and pleasant. The base of the perfume is the tipical rose/oud/leather perfume but, in this case, I find original aspects which makes this fragrance a special one. First of all the presence os the spices: powdery saffron, intense cloves and spicy nutmeg, giving a spicy vibe very interesting. Then the floral freshness of the neroli and the alcoholic feeling of the whisky, mixed with the floral & sweet character of the ylang. All this together creates an interesting atmosphere close to the one created by the door by dl roelen, but a bit less animalic and strong. I find It totally unisex, more for cold temperaturas, probably for night in winter, fall and firt months of sprint. To sum Up catharsis is an intense and powerful perfume original and intense but keep on the rose oud líne which is on trend nowadays. Love from first sniff! Elegant, sexy, mysterious.

Like with other Coreterno fragrances that I have worn so far, the opening is a sharp whirlwind of notes that first need to settle. To me, the saffron and rose notes are the stars of Catharsis. Unfortunately, they already start fading away after around 10 minutes while the fragrance slowly morphs into a powdery skin scent.

The cloves are a bit harsh at first, but it calms down into something interesting and a little sweet without being too complex. One of those scents you kind of have to live up to. Very strictly unisex. Carries a feeling of power. Can definitely recommend.
