Fêtes de Noël

Oh dear lord this is stunningly beautiful! It reminds me a lot of Caron Nuit de Noël but with more going on, almost like it’s flirting with Givenchy Ysatis. This is a rich and opulent floral Chypre expertly crafted. The quality Mousse de Sax accord is top notch. The Tuberose is definitely the star of the florals but it’s also very well blended with the others. Darren really did an amazing job on this - I feel like I need a bobbed haircut and a flapper dress. If you’re a fan of vintage, you need this in your life.

Oh, yes! I’m getting more of a 50s-60s vintage. Oily flowers, oakmoss base, light almost daffodil yellow feel, like a Coty for Spring in 1971. It’s quite pretty, very light and easy and totally takes me back. I would not call this a Holiday fragrance. It has no real weight for the colder season. I see it in a bottle with a yellow plastic lid, totally vintage. Almost lilac at first, reminding me of Amouage Love Lilac a bit, in a sweet foody kind of floral note in the back. Not loving that as much, but I really like the vintage vibe this has going. There's no heavy powdery, sultry vintage, this is a light springy zesty vintage. Maybe like Skinny Dip, if anyone remembers that one?

The aldehydic opening is reminiscent of Caron’s Nuit de Noël, but then it veers elsewhere. The florals feel much more fresh, sharper white flowers, and dewy roses, as opposed to the musty, heavier yellow florals in NdN. The woods really stand out. It does smell like high quality materials were used, but three hours in all I get is dewy rose and sandalwood. Very flat and linear, and very clean. I was hoping for something in production to replace NdN with, but this isn’t it.

This I think is amazing. This is in the style of the 50s and 60s chypres. It did not feel or smell very Christmasy to me, but I did get the spicy orange initially. Later I got some of the heavy florals. The dry down is where this really shines. Woody, herby with a touch of powder and animal. It was not very animalistic, but you know it is there. Very late I got a woody vanilla. This is a beautiful scent
