1949 by Gant is the typical fruity, woody, ambery, warm, soft spicy, aromatic, green, fresh masculine perfume. It smells sweet in a fruity way, when it’s freshly sprayed on skin I notice mostly a juicy, green apple mixed with fresh lemon. It transitions as it dries down towards a cinnamon, amber wood, juniper berries perfume with leathery nuances. I don’t get patchouli or ivy in 1949 so I would say it starts fruity fresh and dries into a warm, amber, woody classic manly man fragrance. Overall, if you enjoy this kind of fragrance profile, 1949 is a very safe blind buy IMO. It’s really nicely balanced between all the different accords, doesn’t smell synthetic, too sweet or too spicy and I love it. I have to pass my sample to my husband to get his perspective on 1949, it’s a male targeted fragrance after all, but as a female, I would love smelling this on a man. It’s so cozy, alluring and mass appealing and I can see it as a signature fragrance for someone in their late twenties and early thirties. Longevity seems to be average, lasting around five hours on skin, it’s not an overly intense scent, therefore I think it would work well for most of the seasons. It’s the first perfume I’ve tried from Gant and I am really enjoying what I am smelling. Doesn’t feels like another cash grab perfume launch! I am intrigued to smell more from you, Gant!!!

I was blown away the first time I smelled this fragrance; the scent is so gorgeous! It’s a freshie but also a spicy leathery fragrance, best of both worlds! It’s both youthful but also mature from the two different nuances in this fragrance, which makes it so good and unique in my opinion, the freshness mixed with the more intense leather, and amberwood. When you spray it on, you immediately get the fresh bergamot and citrus notes together with some cinnamon bark and apple, but what makes this fragrance stand out even further is that you get that amazing botanical fresh green “spicy” ivy scent as well, which made me fall in love with this fragrance. The ivy note is strong and goes beautifully together with the other notes, and it is what makes this fragrance unique, the ivy together with the apple, citrus, cinnamon and leather. After some hours in the dry down I get a more leather, musky amber scent, the freshness is mostly gone but I still notice the ivy even after 5+ hours. On me the longevity is not bad but mid, I get around 5 to 6 hours of this fragrance but the sillage is strong which makes up for it. Well done Gant!

An extremely versatile cologne, very masculine. I personally found this to be very similar to Hugo Boss Bottled the OG, the bergamot and apple make it lovely none offensive scent-that make it the perfect signature scent and daily driver. Suprisingly, I sprayed myself with this from the store and was complemented by some lady when I walked out. The longevity is amazing as well, the only issue is the spillage but I recommend this cologne for guys who love inoffensive, masculine scent that is good for any season. My overall rating 7.5/10

Phenomenal perfume! It is the exact copy of Lacoste Style in Play. I absolutely love it and the reaction from women are very positive. It is a young, attractive and playful fragrance for men, that don't take life too serious, yet see everything positive and optimistic. It is an everyday perfume with potential for summer / spring evening night-outs.

In my opinion, this smells 90% like Parfums de Marley Layton Exclusif, but a little bit less harsh in the opening, more round warm masculine sweet. 6-7hr longevity with more sweetness when it becomes a skin scent. 10/10

This perfume reminds me of Mancera’s Cedrat Boise and Issey Miyake Intense. It’s more like an EDT version of Mancera Cedrat Boise If there existed an edt version of Cedrat Boise then this is how it would be.

Well I don’t like it much... smells quite cheap and dated... it’s not awful but the quality of the perfume composition mostly reminds me of some Adidas aftershave.

Got a free sample of this in the post, popped it on this evening after a day with a different fragrance and this is really quite pleasant. Nice, apple and citrus opening before I get mainly cinnamon and cedarwood in the mid with a little hind of the florals before the leather really hits in the dry. Lovely, masculine, really nice.
