Antares by In Astra, launched in 2020, is a captivating Oriental Floral fragrance that bridges the gap between freshness and depth. Created by Sofia Bardelli, this fragrance offers a striking blend that feels both vibrant and elegant. The opening is a lively, effervescent burst of fruity notes, reminiscent of an orange soda — sweet, tangy, and fizzy. The Pink Pepper in the top note provides a zesty spice that heightens the sparkling sensation, immediately catching the attention. As the fragrance settles, the floral heart takes shape with the creamy richness of Frangipani and Tuberose, adding a lush, almost tropical feel that beautifully balances the initial fruitiness. The base notes of Amber and Sandalwood bring a soft, warm grounding to the composition. The Sandalwood gives a subtle creamy, woody touch that underpins the entire fragrance, while the Amber introduces a delicate smokiness that emerges as the fragrance wears on, providing an intriguing complexity as the scent evolves. While Antares is quite linear, it’s a perfect kind of linearity — the fragrance remains consistent in its beauty, offering a constant yet evolving experience throughout the day. The only significant change comes in the late stages, where the Amber adds a touch of smoky warmth to round out the fragrance. Antares is, without a doubt, the best offering from the In Astra brand thus far. It’s become a personal favorite of mine, with its ability to captivate in both casual and evening settings, making it a versatile choice for summer. It’s one of my standout fragrance discoveries of the year, and I can’t recommend it enough for those who appreciate a fragrance that blends freshness with a subtle complexity.

I've been on a lengthy quest to locate a few, unique, tuberose-centric fragrances. I have grown rather fond of a well-done, tuberose perfume note. I own and love Amouage "Love Tuberose." But at the Amouage price-point, along with my frequency of use, I need to find a more affordable fragrance than Love Tuberose. I read lots of hype about In Astra "Antares," so I decided to purchase a sizable decant. So, Astra Antares is a very nice perfume. However to my nose, I would barely categorize this as a strong, white floral fragrance with dominant tuberose. The frangipani lends an aquatic, watery, tropical feeling to the perfume. The tuberose is there but remains in the background. And while not listed as a note, I swear I smell some coconut. All-in-all, Antares is a lovely fragrance. Antares is sweet, youthful, dewy and uplifting. Tropical at best.

I was surprised by how much I like this one! On paper I didn’t enjoy it at all, it smelled like sunscreen and gave me cigarette-smoking-grandma vibes. But on my skin, WOW!!! It’s a beautiful and tropical white floral scent. Rather than sunscreen I now get a creamy and luscious body lotion feel... and the pink pepper in the opening makes it lighter and effervescent. It can still feel a bit mature but much more in a femme fatale kind of way, nothing old lady like. Perfect for summer nights. It also projects a lot and lasted a good 8-10h on me.

I was sceptical at first and didn't expect to love this perfume.. The tuberose-frangipani accord turned out so narcotic on my skin, expressing the animalic facet of tuberose softened with the creamy touch of sandalwood. Having worn it all day long and showered, I still could smell the base notes, so persistent and intricate are they. Definitely a go-to fragrance for this summer! I recommend it to those who love tuberose and want to try something new and not something already seen.

I used only one spritz in a paper strip and left it in a room with the door open. The next day, that room and the hall nearby were submerged in this fragrance. Amazing performance!
