Lumiére Enchantée

Lumière Enchantée was launched in October 2021, together with Altum Magnis. They open the season of six launches of the Match of Senses line, which was launched in 2019 and had, as a goal, to reach a collection of 10 authorial perfumes. Lumière Enchantée is classified by the manufacturer as a fruity-floral perfume aimed at the female audience. Its fragrance brings notes of blueberry, bergamot, and grapefruit, in the head; Notes of ylang-ylang, rose, jasmine, magnolia, and tonka bean, in the body; Notes of vanilla, cedar, musk, patchouli, and amber, in the base. For Lumière Enchantée, the color chosen was powdery pink, which conveys romanticism and innocence. When touching the skin, succulent notes explode revealing a more acidic background. And this is because the grapefruit also has more acidic and bitter facets, capable of reminding you of the smell of black currants. But few people make this connection because they think of a fruit similar in content to oranges, which is not a rule. And even though it's listed in the central part of the composition, the ylang-ylang note is not easily overpowered, so don't be surprised if you smell a milkier aroma right away. Then, comes the floral bouquet – rich in jasmine and magnolia – and brings an accord full of greener and more exuberant facets, although this combo makes you imagine a white and narcotic floral accord. It is here, in the fragrance's body, that this “Enchanted Light” gains strength and reveals its personality. At this point, I abandoned the official classification and understood that Lumière Enchantée behaves like a chypre-floral with musky nuances, at least on my skin. To give it a little more romanticism, the drying reveals a sensual musk and also brings a light and not cloying vanilla that, combined with amber, creates the basic accord of many fragrances of the oriental family (a term that is in disuse in the industry). In the olfactory tape, Lumière Enchantée brings me nuances that remind me of the smell of pear, which doesn't happen when applied to the skin. So, stay tuned when testing! Another observation, a little more critical, is the fact that this fragrance doesn't sound 100% authorial to me, as it happened with another female perfume in the same line: Euphoria Sensuale. And I'm worried about the fact that I can imagine the audience questioning authorial freedom. However, as much as I understand that the range of options is more competitive within the female market because there are many brands and new products being launched daily, when I think of an authorial fragrance, I automatically think of something unusual, in combinations and accords never (or little) explored, and, most importantly, in the difficulty of letting people drawing comparisons. After all, the company already has its line of inspired fragrances, to that end. Lumière Enchantée is less innocent than I expected, but it is the most versatile women's fragrance of the line up to now. It pleases easily, it has great performance, and it does not restrict too much in terms of age. Let Sucré Juteux comes, promised for November 2021.
