Reaction T-Shirt

I first came across Kenneth Cole Reaction T-Shirt in the late spring of 2009, while deciding on a summer cologne right after the original release of the cologne (original blue packaging). I asked the Boston Store employee for recommendations and if there was anything new that was worthy trying. The woman was extremely excited about T-Shirt and I admit I was too, so much so that it is the only discontinued cologne that I actively seek out. I purchased it that day and received many compliments, the kind where people stopped what they were doing and made a point to ask what it was. There are two major negative that are pretty significant. 1. The longevity of the scent is extremely poor, worst that I have experienced. 2. Like with any other thing in my life that I thoroughly enjoy and want to hold onto forever, The original 'T-Shirt' (blue packaging) mysteriously disappeared and was replaced by a cologne of the same name in new packaging (orange highlighted clear bottle). While I was thrilled to have 'T-Shirt' back, the second release of the cologne was noticeably different to me. The initial burst that was a clean punch with notes of fruit and what I describe as the 'cotton' hint that gave the original its teeth wasn't as noticeable and so it goes that one of my favorite fragrances that was memorable because the base was hints of all the things you want in a cologne subtlety blended to create the perfect base and then you experience the lightning electric notes of perfection that created the 'cotton' experience, and it truly hit your dopamine receptors like pure powder. It was that good... (even 9 years later I'm recalling my experience like T-Shirt was a drug. Unfortunately, the orange 'T-Shirt' version just didn't have that 'it' factor that defined the fragrance. Continuing with the drug reference the retread T-Shirt is quality but if you've had the pure stuff, you will be disappointed with the product that is available now. **I would be interested to find out what caused Reaction to mess with the original version. Im thinking that the original longevity was so poor that they believed that it was worth trying to fix the issue but weren't able to and instead their experiments resulted in yet another disappointment. The re-release packaging was a head scratchier as well.From a marketing approach, the original strategies worked perfectly. The light blue color perfectly hint at the sensations that the fragrance produced. I am now actually quite depressed after wasting the last 20 minutes expressing the excitement that I experienced when I first tried 'T-Shirt'.. as I recall my experience with Kenneth Cole Reaction over the years the fate of my coveted First Edition 'T Shirt' cologne appropriate when you consider how disappointing Kenneth Cole has become. Their shoe game is the worst of the big names in the department stores. The shoes are gaudy and fucking poor. The Mens slacks are so bad that if a situation is just stressful enough, the disparity in the misrepresentation of the actual length could create a scene where you flip shit in the mens department. Kenneth Cole Reaction's only lifeboat that remains is the Black cologne. Without that I'm thinking we may have scene a much quicker fall from grace, which is something Im finding that Im an expert on.

I blind bought this because of the comparisons to Ferrari light essence, which is their take on Dolce and Gabbana light blue for women. Strangely enough I like the D&G light blue woman’s version more than the male counterpart. This is very similar to D&G for women. I still have Ferrari light essence so I decided to compare the two. FLE opens a little stronger compared to Kenneth Cole T-Shirt, but where difference starts to take effect is after 30 to 45 minutes FLE becomes a non existent skin scent and T-shirt starts to take off with its performance. I’m an older fellow who is in my early 40’s and I wear this with confidence. I don’t understand labels when it comes to specific ages for a cologne to wear. My motto is; wear or do what you’re comfortable with. To my nose this is a fruity aromatic scent that is very similar to the above mentioned scents. It’s gorgeous to wear and any woman I’ve ever been around is constantly sniffing me. It’s best worn in summer on the hotter days but I can easily wear this in the fall too. It’s definitely unisex and inoffensive. This is a solid 7/10 for me. I get between 4 and 5 hours, maybe 6 on a hot day. On another note: if anyone is looking for another cheaper version of D&G light blue for her, try Armaf Tag-Her, this one is similar to that one too.

This scent is fabulous, I tried it first as it was the one I purchased first. I purchased the reaction and I am like no way. This T shirt version is way better. I get more compliments in this than the original reaction. This is a full blown fruit bomb! Dries down into an excellent smell, especially if your tired of the usual summer citrus smell.. it has somewhat poor sillage, I put it on my clothes and you can smell it without being very close. Even better on the skin after you've had a great evening. Don't let any nay sayers deter you. As always! Try it for yourself, everyone has different DNA!!!

The only place I've been able to find this is in Puerto Rico when I'm on vacation. It's a shame because I bought this when it first released at Macy's and it came with a big bottle of shower gel which added to the projection and longevity. With out the gel it doesn't last long. I still have 90% from my last trip to PR last summer. Paid about $50. Online it's going for as high as $129 if you can find it and it's not worth $100. One of my favorite summer scents. Best way to describe this scent is fresh cotton sheets blowing in the wind on a clothes line on a summer day.

Unreal good. Im a cologne snob, and this cheap cheap stuff is nearly as tastey and powerful and good as the origional reaction. Its got a berry start, not great, but then theres this fresh 'new tshirt smell' also, which is incredible they could capture that, and then it dries to an egyptian musk with a fruity aura. It really is special. And at 8.00$ a bottle, its almost an unreal good deal, perhaps the greatest all around cologne that I've purchased this year (out of about 30) if you factor in the price.

This has a mild scent and weak silage. Perfect for a summer vacation in the tropics just wearing a white t-shirt, khaki shorts and flip flops. Has a mild sweetness that's refreshing in a warm climate. I love the mild scent. This cologne is meant for my nose only. Makes my mood better during a hot summer day. My overall rating 6.5/10

The fruity notes stay on and are very elegant. Can easily be a unisex cologne. Smells like a refreshing, calming morning shower on a weekend. This stuff is great, the rum makes the fragrance, floral and fruity notes are a great touch....Great Summer/fall/spring fragrance...very very light,but good...love it

this is a great scent and it looks like they just released it again in the same style bottle but it's got an orange tint to it

Kenneth Cole Reaction T-Shirt was a fragrance I reviewed, way back when. I didn't smell a lot of fragrances and it quickly became one I overlooked, even if I did enjoy it. Reaction T-Shirt is a summer scent through and through. It is light but still packs a punch. I picked it up for $11USD (you absolutely cannot now, so don't even try it) and it really at the time, I thought it was a great blind buy for summer if you like tropical booze. Now I'm a bit unsure. For clarification, I own the orange tinted bottle without the t-shirt tag, not the blue tinted featured in the pictures of the entry. Now after a few years, I am finally looking back at my previous review of it. The open is similar to 212 VIP Men, but has no spice to it. It has passion fruit which seems stronger than 212 VIP Men but you get gin seeping in from the mid. It is much lighter, even fresher than 212 VIP, especially on fresher bottles. If you let it sit some years, it will become more alcoholic and that is more in a rubbing/perfumer's alcohol rather than the actual gin note like say 212 VIP. Because it is lighter, it seems more tropical dare I say, Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville or a Tommy Bahamas interpretation of the 212 VIP Men DNA. That is where the similarities end between the two. Reaction T-shirt then goes into a cotton like smell rather than a sweet mixed with spice. It smells like a cotton t-shirt that you got wet. It is pretty comforting and fitting to the name. That said, I wouldn't disagree that the base is nothing. Reaction T-shirt is a spring/summer scent for work due to a lighter alcohol, BBQs, casual use, ballparks, active use and vacation. That said it projects moderately about an hour and a half and lasts a total of five to six hours tops on my skin with four hours being the average. It can however become rather invisible due to the aforementioned cotton smell that dominates the base, especially if you are wearing cotton. This makes it work as a gym scent. After initial projection, it can be rather untraceable. If you are gonna wear this to the gym, just let it sit for a half of an hour, otherwise the gin will linger. Kenneth Cole Reaction T-Shirt is a good dumb grab and especially at dirty pricing, a low risk blind buy for spring/summer use. As prices went up in the few years since I got mine, I think it is a more risky blind buy compared to others that are in a similar price point like English Laundry fragrances. I can even use Reaction T-Shirt into October in Arizona in a number of situations, even work. And it lasts pretty good. For this, I rate Reaction T-Shirt a 6.8 out of 10 for a solid summer performer. Not bad, not amazing, just solid.

Reaction T-Shirt is actually a very unique and interesting fragrance. It doesn't remind me of anything that I've smelled but does give off the clean vibe from Gendarme for Men. Picture that clean, fresh linen smell from Gendarme. Now add all the fruity notes and gin, and that's what it smells like. In the top I get a puree of all the fruits blended, then I get a bit of the lavender and a heap of gin in the middle with the fruits still sweetening the mix, and in the base, I get a light musk and cotton flower with the gin/lavender/fruit puree dominantly lingering over. It's the scent of your favorite white cotton T-Shirt after it comes out of the dryer, assuming that you also used fruit-scented dryer sheets. You know when you're going out with friends but it's a casual hang out so you wear just any casual cologne? Y'all possibly go shoot pool or have a few drinks at a casual bar, maybe hang out and just have a few beers at each other's house while watching a game, then after the evening is over, you come home and crash out in your clothes. You wake up at noon and have nothing special planned so you stay in that same clothes and for the remainder of that day you keep smelling the light, leftover remnants of your cologne, from the previous night, on your t-shirt. You've just smelled Reaction T-Shirt! I really enjoy this one but sillage isn't so good but then again, that would sort of defeat the purpose of what this fragrance is about. I've only received a handful of compliments while wearing this but they were positive. Longevity is around 4-6 hours and it's a casual scent, nothing too special, good for anyone in their teens to someone in their 30's. It's meant for the warmer months but also works in cooler weather.

I bought this perfume at tjmaxx for $29,99. It's a very comforting scent, it smells to me like fabric softener and freshly iron pressed cotton. The first notes are fruity but not in a feminine or overpowering way. The middle notes are more typical of a masculine but the mix with the top fruity notes is what makes it exquisite. I have to say, this perfume took me by surprise, I really like it . It resembles a lot to TDC "Tokyo Bloom", although tokyo bloom last longer and is less fruity, still remains the fresh essence. T-Shirt has a very short life span, after three hours maximum. you can't smell much. Which is a drawback, since this is a beautiful fragrance for men.

When I first bought this, I must admit, I thought to my self "Is it me or is this a bit Girly" But after a while when the fragrance has settled it becomes fresh and although the fragrance is light you can still tell it's there. you know sometimes you look up or break concentration because something smells good, you'll forget you're wearing it until for some reason or another you get a whiff of it! In my opinion it is a great everyday summer fragrance, it's not in yours (or anyone else's) face but you'll know its there!

T-Shirt is a sparkling citrus, with a few wisps of other fruits, and freshly washed and dried clothes (musk). Wholly linear and entirely pleasant, but not a stand out at all. If I had the chance to sample this, I wouldn't have blind bought it. However, this can be had for pennies and is a great blind buy or a gift to the casual fragrance user. ***NOTE my bottle is orange and not blue. I think blue is more fitting, but I think it was an advertisment error.

omg i've just bought this and it smells exactly like Mariah Carey's Luscious Pink! it smells so good! im going to get Mariah's fragrance 2.

smells amazing but i cant smell it seriously 5 minutes after putting it on. its a shame really cos i love the smell....

This is a such an odd/weird scent for a guy. It doesn't smell anything like the original Kenneth Cole Reaction which to me is a great smelling original scent. The T-shirt edition hits you with a little bit of Passionfruit, dulled by the Cottonflower, a lot of Lavender, and finishes with plenty of salty musk. After a few seconds the lavender starts to dominate, and the musk is noticeable, and it becomes an extremely bad floral, powdery scent on the drydown, men's colognes are typically not known for being floral & powdery. I had my girl smell this after it dried down and she said it smelled like a cheap floral women's perfume. While this is different, I don't enjoy smelling like a woman's floral, powdery perfume. I had to give this to my girl, even though she's not big on floral scents either, it smells more appropriate on her rather than myself, she ended up throwing this away. To be honest I expected something much different than this, it doesn't smell like Citrus at all, it doesn't smell good either. Think floral expired bug spray. Scent:2 It's definitely different, but smells awful Longevity:5 I get 4 hours on my skin Sillage/Projection:3 Unique/Industry First: It smells so bad, it's not unique Quality:4 Overall:2.5 This scent smells absolutely nothing like CK one summer, Hugo boss summer, Happy by clinique or Chanel allure pour homme, as other reviewers have erroneously stated. It's so far away from Happy, it's not even in the same universe. This one is so bad, I'm honestly stunned Kenneth Cole released this. It's embarrassingly bad.

Kenneth Cole Reaction got me into fragrances. Reaction and Acqua Di Gio are the two bottles that always are replaced any time they get low. Figured I would branch out and try this flanker (I have the newer orange bottle formulation). There is absolutely none of the original DNA in this flanker. If you got 100 people who had smelt original Reaction and had them blind smell this flanker and asked them to identify what it was a flanker of, 100 people would answer incorrectly. I get an almost expired Pear. Like a pear where if you walked by the table, would smell it immediately, but as you picked it up, the body is too soft to want to eat it. On the dry down I get the sandlewood. Those two scents are all I get from this. No watermelon, none of the other stated notes. This is honestly the worst fragrance I have ever tried so far in my collecting journey. The only reason I did not rate it a hate is because its "wearable" to an extent where if I was forced to wear it for the day, I wouldn't be choking on myself any time I caught a smell of it.
