Curve Appeal for Men

Really enjoyable watermelon dominated scent with a nice touch of aromatics and fresh spices the first twenty minutes of wear, but quickly devolves into a rather bland oceanic musk and suede scent around the 30 minute mark that is common-place and uninspiring. Just can't get any performance with this, even after 5-6 liberal sprays in the summer months. This stuff vanishes on my skin in 2-3 hours and projection is extremely soft and gentle after the first ten minutes of application. Sure, if you like watermelon you will enjoy the top notes, the blending is nice and organic but it's gone quickly and despite great packaging and a smart marketing campaign, ultimately Curve Appeal doesn't stack up performance wise (longevity and projection) with its older stablemates in the Curve line. Very modern but a very weak performer.

I've purchased this fragrance a few times in the past, and I don't remember smelling much watermelon so I was surprised to see that that was voted the most prominent note. I remember the sea water being the strongest note alongside the pear and bergamot. Anyways, to me this fragrance is very fresh. It's youthful, it's cool and reminds me of being at the beach in LA. It's definitely not very complex or serious, just light and fresh. I think it would make for a great starter fragrance, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a light aquatic summer scent for a relatively cheap price. I'd also like to add that this pairs well with Perry Ellis 360 degrees for men. The youthful elements of this fragrance help balance out the more mature elements of 360.

This is one of the most underrated men's fragrances of all time. It has gotten me countless complements from girls in their 20's as well as guys. It's a fresh and fruity scent with watermelon and frozen pear sitting at the top. Despite what most comments say, this really does not smell like other fragrances out there. Definitely not CK Euphoria, Cool Water or even remotely like Acqua Di Gio. This is has an unmistakable uniqueness that will make you feel fresh, energized and optimistic for the future. A perfect summer scent for college students and young men.

I love this fragrance and am so sad it's hard to find and discontinued many compare it similar to Keneth Kole reaction but i think this one is a lot sweeter and lasts a lot longer. It has a beautiful sweet watermelon opening with seawater then drys down to a musky woodsy smell its sents closer to the skin. If you had to choose between the two this is the one to get because of its awesome sweet youthful sent. Note the bottle atomizer kinda sucks very cheap not that great dispersal pattern.

Liz Claiborne Curve Appeal for Men is yet another scent I got through a swap. I find that it is very much a clone, but it isn't a singular clone. It has elements of several colognes. I notice some Acqua di Gio and its clones (in particular Michael Jordan 23) along with Kenneth Cole Reaction, Kenneth Cole Reaction T-Shirt and Tommy Bahamas for men (2013). It is basically if you took the Reaction and a less 212 VIP aspect Reaction T-Shirt, but if you add some more of the aquaticness of Acqua di Gio. Curve Appeal is very much aquatic especially in the open. It has a strong aquatic note and an equally strong watermelon note which often does give an aquatic feel even without a sea note or water note. There is a strong pear note along with some citruses. This goes into a mid with a pretty strong lavender note, some cardamon and some pepperwood. The base is very much cedar and musk heavy with a slight ambery sweetness. Curve Appeal isn't a club banger nor is it needed to be. Curve Appeal is a perfect dumb reach for casual and work settings during spring and summer days. It is not a real fragrance to wear at night though as it is a little too light. Curve Appeal as mentioned already is too light with it being a soft to slightly moderate with about five hours of projection. Overall I do like Curve Appeal and it is the second best of the Curve line to me but is it something I need to get a bottle of, no. As mentioned, it is a clone and one that I have quite a few of myself. Overall, I rate Curve Appeal a 6.7 out of 10. The longevity and use issues, are a little bit too much IMHO.

One of the better watermelon fragrances on the market, curve appeal is a no nonsense summer aquatic with aromatic elements perfectly suited for warm to hot days. This is nothing like cool water or acqua di gio, its DNA is far more rooted in Kenneth cole's highly successful reaction for men and the plethora of watermelon top summer releases that have since made their way to department store shelves since the late 2000s. Incredibly inoffensive and smartly conceived and executed for the masses, curve appeal starts extremely fruity and youthful, maintaining a nice blend of watermelon, pear and salty ocean water that dominates well into the second hour of wear. Projection is moderate before slipping to a skin scent when the heart and base takes centre stage in the third hour, leaving the slightest hint of watermelon residue but coming forward with a musky, cedar and suede finish that trickles out until its death around the 5 to 6 hour mark. The other notes not mentioned are barely evident, but that may speak to the solid blending on this extremely underrated and serviceable modern mainstream release. If you like watermelon done in an organic and complimentary manner, this is one well worth picking up. Scent 7.5 Longevity: 4.5-6.5 hours Sillage: moderate top, reduces to skin scent around 1.5 to 2 hour mark.

Wow I have noticed some strong opinions on this cologne. Its OK for being a cheap buy at a major store but I never would have guessed that Curve, a brand that does receive its share of copy cats, would go copy Cool Water and Acqua di Gio. And to top that off it even copied its own brand Curve Wave. Appeal is OK but not original and I hope we can agree on that. The only elements that will set this apart from the rest of the herd is its fruity and suede notes. Its a little strong from the start but mellows down to a fresh and clean smell. What else can I say? I can not repeat what I have already said on my previous reviews on Acqua di Gio and Curve Wave. Its still OK take a sniff if you like...meanwhile I will go have a beer by the ocean! 7 out of 10.......mercy score lol

Meh... don't believe the "watermelon" claims. This is a sweet Kenneth Cole Reaction and Kenneth Cole Connected. This is better than KC Reaction/Connected as it lacks the waxy laundry musk. Since this has been discontinued, the prices have gone up from $15 for a 2.5oz to $30 for the same size. Bypass Appeal and get BOD Fresh Guy... it's legit a dupe of KC Reaction/Connected/Appeal and can be purchased for $8 at Wal-Mart. However, I suggest that if you want something fruity and fresh, go for Lacoste Play in Style. That's a gorgeous green apple fragrance with a coniferous edge for masculine freshness. While it doesn't have watermelon, it does everything that Reaction/Connected/Appeal try to do but miss the mark.

Just picked this one up and I'm very pleased so far. It is light and fresh. I agree with the babybash44 that this does not resemble the original Curve product (of which I am a big fan). Not as fruity as Reaction and also a bit more spicy. Much better than YSL L'Homme Libre (I didn't enjoy that one). I'll add more as I get a better feel for it. The bottle is initially very cool, but after a short while it has become annoying. Good gimick, but doesn't hold long term. I like things lined up nicely and this one doesn't fit neatly into the drawer or the shelf space. The slanted cut would be good for demo units to grab attention and then give us a regular bottle.

Sweet, common, good value. that's about it. I was at Marshalls and saw this in a gift set with a 1oz, 2.5oz bottle plus shower gel and lotion for 16.99. So if you don't like it you don't waste a lot of money. If you like it then you found a bargain. For me I already own colognes that smell similar. Kenneth Cole Reaction and David Beckham signature. This smells very similar to those. A sweet melon opening that doesn't change much.

I agree with DJ( that this scent is very underrated! I find it to be a very wearable, fresh scent that is good for any occasion. The opening watermelon is unique but not overbearing and holds its form nicely. As it does dry it becomes warmer and full. Not an all time favorite but certainly worth the price and a solid offering from Curve!

At first I thought I had a bad bottle because I thought this smelled like salad dressing. I think I'm just getting all of the sea notes or something. I get like a ranch dressing smell but it has a good sour aquatic smell. After using this a few times It gets better. I give this a 7.8/10

I would go for this on a man. I really am diggin the watermelon. I prefer this to the women's version. It smells aquatic with a sweet aftertaste. The cedar thrown in this makes it masculine, however I wonder if I could throw something into this to neutralize?

I like it. Fruit and marine with watermelon (which I love) and pear notes. Smells fresh and summery. It's not going to set the world on fire but it's just a nice, cheap summer scent.

I blind bought this pleasant fragrance standing in line at TJ Maxx for under 10 bucks. Wow I like this curve. Summer is definitely right for this pleasant fragrance.

Great clean scent, last about 6 hours. Sillage about a foot. This is the only curve i'd wear. Super cheap. Like $10.00 for a 2.5 oz bottle. Would buy it again.

Ended up returning this to the store. Just didn't stand out. It was pleasant but not noteworthy enough to keep around.

Much better than the version for women, my husband loves this, smells fresh, light and summer-y :)

One of the best in the Curve lineup imo. Still holds up as a good gym freshie today.

Cheap summer frag, smells very similair to Calvin Klein Euphoria Intense (Euphoria is the better frag), unique bottle design, & easy to find. I'm a big fan of the Curve For Men line but Appeal is some what of a let down peformance wise. IMO there are many better performing summer frags than this. Atleast it is cheap so you're not out much if it doesn't last on you. That's the beauty of Liz Claiborne frags. If they work for you, you have a good frag for cheap. If it doesn't then you're not out much $. Definitely more to gain than to lose. For me, this makes a decent gym frag. I'm going rate Curve Appeal somewhere in the middle. I wouldn't tell anyone to rush out to buy it but I also wouldn't discourage anyone from picking this up as a blind buy.

People will hate on this because it is a curve flanker.. but for the price, it is a pretty decent smelling fragrance.. once the synthetic opening calms down after 10 seconds or so.. it smells nicely blended.. this reminds me of an aquatic version of unforgivable. It has the same watermelon vibe that unforgiveable has.. sort of.. a floralish watermelon as opposed to a candy or fruity watermelon. Its a very smooth and light scent.. part fruity, part floral, part aquatic and oceanic. Overall for the price its a nice one. smell it with an open mind.

Tested this one at Kohls today. Not bad actually considering the low price point. Young and fresh smelling summer watermelon cologne with decent longevity. Think strictly casual occasions for this one (i.e. running errands, going to the mall or the beach, etc). I actually prefer this one to KC Reaction (which is similar but more synthetic smelling). That being said, this fragrance is just OK. I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase at retail price, but I might snap it up in the bargain bin lol.

Youthful, sweet, fruity, fresh tangy watermelon! This scent also reminds me of Kenneth Cole Reaction, just as Kenneth Cole Reaction reminds me of Curve Appeal for Men. I would suggest keeping one of the two in your collection for those really hot summer days by the pool. The only thing is that neither of the two frags stay around too long...but for the price, it won't hurt to spray on a few extra sprays throughout the day.

Bought this blind and super cheap for my young nephew but stole a few sprays for myself first. It's very light and watery; not overly sweet like the original. You definitely need multiple sprays, on your skin and clothing for it to be noticable. When it does get going however, it gives off a nice Armani AdG Essenza vibe, which is really saying something. Considering the price and casual nature, it's hard to beat.

I blind bought a few budget fragrances the other day to add to the arsenal. I think we're all pretty familiar with the Curve line. I wasn't expecting anything bad from this but I wasn't expecting it to blow me away. To my nose this frag is 2 parts Nautica Voyage - 1 part Aqua Di Gio. Imagine chewing watermelon bubble gum while sitting at the beach. For $15 dollars this is a decent summer cologne.

I paid five bucks and got a 2.5 oz and shaving balm lol. Its okay. It reminds me a lot of Sean John unforgiveable. It has that same kind of melon vibe with a little more freshness like ADG. so maybe a combo of little bit of ADG and a little bit of unforgiveable. The scent itself isn't bad, But its very light. Doesn't seem like its going to last too long.

Curve Appeal for men is a nice, safe, fragrance for everyday use.Usually fresh and fruity fragrances does not offend anybody. It remind me of Sean John Unforgivable only its has Grapefruit instead of Watermelon in the notes. I must admit I like Unforgivable better,but it is still a nice fragrance for the price.

Without giving it much thought, the openning is not very nice but, after 15-20 minutes, this reminds me a bit of YSL L'Homme Libre or really just any summer frag. I could be wrong tho. It's sweet and fruity fresh with a cool aquatic personality. I am curious to see what other members think.

Curve appeal is the 2nd best next to the orignal Curve in my opinion. THe rest of the series sucks. Appeal opens up with a sweet fruity melon vibe to it kinda like Paris Hilton for men and KC Reaction. Light and has great longevity and perfect for daytime casual wear

Sweet melon, woodsy marine notes, everything covered in a mist of sea spray. Strong, almost "gummy" in its tight blending, but just shy of that. Appeal is one of the better Curves, and probably the most potent entry, next to the original. Shame it was discontinued.

I actually like it, even though it's a flanker. It has an original bottle, and it doesn't really smell like the normal, classic Curve. It's fruity and aquatic but the woods keep it interesting. It could definitely be the new It smell; we'll see!

I actually like the way this smells but it only lasts about 30 minutes on my skin. a better and cheaper alternative - imo - is a super cheapie, BOD Fresh Guy body spray (the one with the pump, not the aerosol). don't laugh until you try it.

I agree with the first post. It smells kind of like Aqua do Go, but not as good. which is a shame because I had high hopes for this fragrance, being that it has a lot of notes that I love.

as said before, smells like acqua di gio..but i would say with less emphasis on the citrus and a weaker drydown
