Floramye

A classic old beauty I luckily received today in an extrait parfum sealled bottle. Well, as I expected, all the great floral tones are here. I can easily detect aldehydes for sure, jasmin, narcissus, rose, ylang-ylang, heliotrope, sandal and something sour such as oakmoss or saffron. No animal notes for me. The dry down is powdery. The bottle is simplier that the above pictured and is identical to "Cuire de Russie". The box on the other hand is a poem. It depicts a bird on a tree branch and the back color is red. Awesome. If you are a lover of old perfumes and you happen to find it, don't miss it. A certain 8/10 for me.

Floramye has been one of my favorites since early in the 2000's when I first discovered it. I am a lover of green floral chypres, as long as they don't have violet or narcissus notes, and avoid marine and fake sandalwood notes, as well as what I can only call "headshop" notes. I also don't appreciate cedar notes or leather notes. This means that very few fragrances have ever seemed to make it into my list of favorites. Floramye reminds me of Goutal's Heure Exquise, and I suspect there is galbanum in the top notes of both, so if you know you can't stand galbanum, you might dislike this.

I was farming in a field in the middle of nowhere, no other vegetation than weeds and grass and I had no perfume on me when all of a sudden I started smelling a strong powdery Iris/Orris root smell all around and it would follow me whatever I went around the field, I recognized immediately the smell: Floramye L.T. Piver. Back home I rushed and searched for the bottle and indeed it was Floramye L.T. Piver, magic!!Who was around me? the spirit of a lady who was trying to communicate with me through the smell of a perfume I own and recognize? Life is a mistery .Floramye L.T. Piver is a delicated powdery dry Iris fragrance,green and peppery with honey bee nectars, no more I can say and nothing else I can smell from my vintage bottle. I will keep the bottle forever and I love telling my little story.
