Tristan

leather, bergamot,carnation, artemisia and light musk; love this one though it is light and close, definitely unisex, not incredibly masculine for a leather fragrance

It took me but I got this perfume. I admire Pierre Cardin and I found it amazing the idea of the bottle and the inspiration for this fragrance: Tristan and Isolde. The perfume (100 ml) consists in two cylinders (50 ml each):Tristan and Yseult. The curious thing is that Tristan is a feminine scent while Yseult is a male scent. It's hard for me to description "Yseult" (male) because, unfortunately, this came from broken glass and perfume spilled on the road. However, despite this scourge, I could feel its pleasant aroma, a masculine scent open, non-traditional, strong without being thick or creamy or dark(it's exactly the opposite),there ́s a something refreshing in its illuminated aura. About "Tristan" (female) took me to reach a conclusion because it felt when I realized that I already knew this perfume, it immediately reminded me of another scent that ,only after a few tries, I found out to be similar to "L'Heure Bleue" by Guerlain. Yes, "Tristan" has a style Guerlain old, very strong powdery smell, dense, heavy, floral,with a light vanilla in drydown. The evolution shows a beautiful perfume, but like the male, a huge power. First of all, "Tristan" is, as "L'Heure Bleue" perfume that exudes an air of Paris! It is just a faithful work of Pierre Cardin. PS: I don ́t feel oranges in "Tristan", maybe, roses...heavy roses...

In the Pierre Cardin ́s site the notes are: artemisia, mandarim, small grain, rose , black currant and musk. In the internet ́s forum the notes are: "Tristan"- (leather) Top notes: spicy, herbal notes Heart notes: jasmine, orange blossom, iris and carnation. Base notes: leathery agreements. "Yseult": (fruity floral) Top notes: citrus notes and fruity. Heart notes: rose, jasmine, cassis and clove. Base notes: woody notes. Thinking about it, I see that my fisrt print logic is that Tristan is a male scent and Yseult is a female scent (sure), but I could swear that Tristan is like a feminine scent and Yseult looks like a masculine scent! This is confusing me ...

This is a romantic fragrance. It was conceived to be one. The Tristan in question has engirdled his chic leather belt with quite the floral bouquet - powdery heliotrope, rubbery iris, spicy carnation, red roses. Unpretentiously cool. Sarah's comment about its resemblance to L'Heure Bleue is spot on. In the drydown the leather achieves a violet breath that might have given life to one of Monsieur Duchaufour later creations - Land of Warriors. Interesting. ***(**)

Necco Wafer spice and carnation. Of the highest quality, mind you. Seriously, though, this bottle must have gone off though I have a good idea what it might have smelled like.
