Little Fig Tree

Scents of Man is a new house to me (I was kindly sent a set of samples). Recently I started to explore natural perfumery, as a branch in this industry. But this perfume house is not a branch, it's a totally different world in comparison to commercial perfumery. There is some note that connects all of Andrea's perfumes (the creator). They all share English rose - hidden or amplified. It's not a rose that you're going to hate, it's so lovely and gentle that you cannot say no. If you're looking for a rose please try their new Rosebud or Aroma Borealis. But as a great start - introduction to this house, I recommend Little Fig Tree. Actually, it should be called Big Fig Tree. It smells like a delicious fig from very beginning till the end. This fig was grown by some sweet tomatos (tomato leaf) and black currant. And near them bees must've drop some gold honey. It's a sweet-bitter pleasure in a bottle, being never too sweet nor too bitter. Projection and lasting power are amazing, maybe the best in the range of those I've tried (with Aroma Borealis and Pavlova coming next). It projects far from the first moment. People can smell your perfume from entering the room and like somebody said, even from the next room. I'm amazed by that, indeed. Lasting power is also great - from 8-10 hours on my skin. Plus it smells so natural (not just on paper as a state, but from your skin), probably most natural of many houses that produce this kind of fragrances. So, if you're looking for a real fig smell, enough sweet, enough bitter and more than enough long-lasting, Little Fig Tree is a right choice for you.

Wow, wow, wow. This is one of the most realistic fig fruit scent that I have ever smelled. It’s almost more realistic than the real deal! This is not an overripe piece of fruit - it’s just ALMOST ready to become the sweetest, jammiest fig of the summer, but it still has some of that green, bitter freshness lingering inside, which makes your mouth water and teeth clench when you take a bite. It is under no circumstance fleeting though - sillage is impressive for the first couple of hours, perhaps the most prominent among what I tested from SoM so far - Pavlova, Bluebell, Freesia and this one. It dries down to the loveliest...fig in the basket; it just stays quite regular, softens its more bitter edges, acquires some gentle sweetness, but stays very much a fig throughout, like the aftertaste of that fruit you ate a while ago, but can still taste in the back of your palate.

This is one of my favourites of all the Scents of Man perfumes I’ve tried! It genuinely smells of fig and there is even a slight aroma of the green leaves as well as the fruit. This perfume lasts very well throughout the day and I think it would suit both men and women. I thought it was better suited to warm summer days, but I’ve actually started wearing it again this season and it works beautifully in colder months too!

I find this scent rich and feminine. I especially get vanilla, fresh fig and love it, especially for more intimate evenings out or dinners, as it sits close to the skin. It reminds me of a scent I smelled from time to time in Paris in the 80s, maybe from L'Artisan.

I suppose it’s the tomato leaf that doesn’t work for my taste and is therefore overwhelming other notes, making the scent too much like a kitchen garden as opposed to like a fruit garden that I hoped, and too sour on my skin. However, the fig is very realistic, so for those who love this note, the scent is a good choice.

361 Well I am working my way through 10 samples. This one I didn't care for as the strongest note is the tomato leaf and also there is a metallic note at dry down which made me nauseous. Unfortunately this reminded me of a cheap fig scented candle and the other notes in this composition just clash with each other in an unpleasant way. It just doesn't work for me as it's got a weedy harshness about it and a hint of soapiness 0/10-didn't like anything about this one, caused nausea

A really fresh fig, with the authentic green skin there at the start. I detect a bit of lychee and lots of vanilla. It's one I wear at least once or twice a week and often choose for evenings. It softens to a sweeter finish, but still very naturalistic, some gentle spices seem to evolve, I get nutmeg, oud and something I can't quite identify, maybe tuberose. It's grown-up without having any harsh or very spicy notes.
