Jardin de Borneo Gardenia

Borneo Gardenia. Sometimes life inspires us through dreams, instinct, a cosmic push-pull that on the surface doesnt make a lot of sense. To find the world of Sultan Pasha-- it takes a bit of divine luck and guidance. In todays world, where everything is at your fingertips, to find excellent things takes a bit of searching, research and patience. Borneo Gardenia is that trip, that magical call of the wind where you only have a feeling and faith to see the journey successful. Im a Gardenia lover, and this is like walking through Sultans lush magic jungle. Vines upon vines of gardenias hang while sunshine streams through the opening of the canopy. Its scent is soft, hypnotic and embraces you in a lush floral that some of us can conjure in our minds but never translate to reality. The animalic base purrs in the background to support the richness that is Borneo. Sillage is close to the body and longevity is good. If you are true Gardenia enthusiast, Im not sure it gets better than this offering. Much love. I need a bottle asap. (sample reviewed)

FFS Mr Eleven...are you ever happy?? Performance is not everything mate. How you can be soooo disappointed by these attars is a mystery... ??? It's rare that my jaw drops at a fragrance these days, being even more of a wizened, jaded, old curmudgeon than Mr Eleven here lol. But this is a fragrance on the highest rung of the elite. I didn't even know I loved gardenia this much? It's sublime. The earth moved for me smelling it right out of the gate, super complex mixture of divine fruits and leathery florals, giving a touch of the iris from iris soir but a way nicer for my nose. Textured, beautiful nearly edible, but not sweet as such, getting creamier but with a mild earthy, smoke to it, I think it's fantastic, despite opening strong I'd say it's not quite as potent as one might want for the big money and I like the opening more than the drydown but still this is nickpicking. Just revel in it though because it's absolutely stunning and had a profound effect on me.

I have no words for this attar. Creamy and rich Gardenia with Mysore Sandalwood and Bois de Borneo Oud. Sweet Gardenia Criminelle . I was surprised smelling this one because it is so difficult to find a real good gardenia and this one comes from an enfleurage gardenia, it is like smelling a real flower. Of course there is a lot of other ingredients in this attar, like tuberose and animal notes like civet or ambergris, but the impression is like smelling a living creature!! A masterpiece.

I feel ill equipped to wax poetic the beauty of this. It’s floral and green but also oud-y and animalic. It’s so complex, and my current obsession. I will savor every drop of my 1ml and surely it will last me a long time ... though maybe not as long as I’d hoped given it fades after roughly 3 hrs on my skin. Currently trying to determine how much that bothers me. If this had the longevity of Aurum d'Angkor this would be the holy grail.

Finally a natural gardenia not soaked in shampoo! Balanced with a sweet tuberous bubblegum. I also feel some sandalwood and a mixture of sweet notes of coconut and unripe apples. It brings me back to the full summer and the beach aromas and lush green shades. It stays that way to the bottom. Seemingly simple, natural, feminine, optimistic.
