Still in the first testing stages, but this one might be a winner. It comes on with a blast of lime, invigorating but not too sharp. In fact, the lime is present to lessening degrees throughout the development, a good thing to my taste. From there is develops like a classic fougere, a la Bel Ami. My man seems to be allergic to a number of high-end mainstream fragrances, although they smell great on him. Years ago I bought him a FB of Armani pour Homme, and it was like pheromonal catnip to me, and though he's not much into fragrance, he wore it to please me. Alas, he seems to have developed an intense allergy to it, with sneezing, coughing, and the ensuing sinus headache. Same story with Egoiste, Equipage, Eau Sauvage. Bel Ami he tolerates, but wow is it spendy, and I'm not willing to shell out the dough for something to which he eventually develops an allergy, nor wear out my welcome as he indulges MY love for scent. Besides, I'm beginning to think maybe it's the chemical components of big house fumes that trigger respiratory problems, as they don't all share the same notes. Enter natural perfumes. Well, if I thought Hermes was expensive, that's nothing compared to some of the natural houses. While I fathom why naturals are so costly, I can't justify the expense for someone who doesn't hold the same reverence for fragrance that I do. At least not unless I can corrupt him into a perfumisto! Tallulah Jane fragrances are well-made and well-priced, with tenacity nothing short of amazing for a natural: 12 hours on my feminine skin. "Subtle" is what he said when he put on Yiska this morning, and for my guy that's a good thing. "Purrr" is what I said, as I buried my nose in his chest. We'll see how it plays out over the day, and night. More later.
