Crème de Chestnut & Vanille Français

very cozy creamy sweet chestnut and vanilla! It literally matches the picture on the bottle to a T, that bowl of cream. the lack of bright notes to cut through and counterbalance creamy/nutty accords leads it to smell slightly like a candle. (eg. by the fireplace has smoke and woods!) but it's very cosy and soft, only passed it on because i have a million gourmands and didn't reach for this often.

Crème de Chestnut & Vanille Français has become one of those fragrances that I reach for when I want pure comfort wrapped around me. From the very first spray, it feels like stepping into a warm kitchen on a cool evening - rich chocolate, roasted chestnut and a hint of coffee rising like steam from a decadent dessert. It’s as close you can get too Jousset's Chestnut Cream & French Vanilla, and you can really feel that extrait strength compared to the OG. As it settles on my skin, the fragrance softens into this creamy swirl of vanilla, tonka bean and Peru balsam. There’s a toffee-like sweetness that slowly emerges, almost caramelised, giving the dry down a delicious warmth that lingers for hours. It’s the kind of scent that makes you instinctively lean in closer. I find it shines best in cooler weather, autumn and winter especially, when its comfy and snuggy, nutty richness feels like a soft blanket rather than something heavy. One of my favourite ways to wear it is by layering: a spray of Café de Dua on one side of my neck, Pistachio Treat on the other and Crème de Chestnut & Vanille Français right in the centre. The combination creates this dreamy gourmand cloud that’s both soothing and surprisingly sophisticated. It’s become my go‐to for winding down in the evening, especially before bed, but it also adds a gentle sweetness to chilly office days without ever feeling overwhelming.
