Dragonboat

While every iteration of Dragonboat sounds irresistably gorgeous, I can only speak to the 2022 version, which to me is a big happy sweet jasmine and osmanthus tea, and literal spring sunshine in a bottle. Sometimes fragrances with a white floral focus can get a little overwhelming in the heat - not so with Dragonboat. I've been reaching for it nonstop the entire spring, and don't anticipate stopping even at the full, humid height of this impending Texas summer. Two smears from my 1ml sample vial is the perfect amount, opening up with a sparkling, glowy, almost citrusy array of naturalistic honeyed jasmine. It's the real thing, not the hedione-laden funeral home/hairspray approximation that shows up all too often in other jasmine-centric scents. It's a pretty linear progression from there - the happy jasmine petals swirl golden with gentle osmanthus, rich and enveloping without any indolic or cloying qualities - it feels very lushly green, sappy, nectared, fresh, and sweet throughout. Sandalwood's low resonance adds some depth to the fresh petal dance, but it doesn't ever take over in any meaningful way - Dragonboat is all about the floral heart from beginning to end. Considering this is a natural concoction, longevity is staggeringly good. I consistently get 8-10 hours out of this fragrance every time, even if it doesn't project particularly loudly at the end. It's not necessarily a grand statement sort of white floral - and that's a good thing. While I adore the heady hothouse effects of Moon Bloom and Fracas, Dragonboat is more of a meditative, pleasurable garden stroll. It's a perfume I feel entirely at home in, and an instant good mood in a bottle. My understanding is that the 2022 iteration will inevitably be revised, as the others have, which leaves me with a twinge of sadness, because this version is so totally gorgeous. It's definitely a full bottle and maybe even a backup bottle purchase for me - alas, Luckyscent is sold out. I am still seeing it on the TRNP website though, so there's still hope! Worth sampling for all jasmine lovers, and even for white floral detractors - this is a gorgeous take on a classic note.

This is more then just a perfume, it's an experience!! Dragonboat will lift your energy. Feeling flat? Spray this perfume on and you're mood will be heightened and you will feel your whole body buzzing. It feels like you have just spent a week at a spa on a small island in the middle of the ocean. You have been scrubbed and rubbed and cleansed on every level, meditated until you feel the buzz of enlightenment. Like an addiction, you will crave this perfume and the feeling it gives you. But then give it an hour.....the scent will sneak up on you and the buzz will hit you again. You will seek out people just to sniff you because you are amazed at how good you smell. Now ladies, we have all experienced that moment we are shopping and all of a sudden we smell it.....a man. And he smells so delicious you need to hunt him down and attach a face to that smell. And then realise it doesn't matter what he looks like, he smells so good you want to tear his clothes off on the spot and ravage him. This happened to me....only it was me that I could smell. I wanted to ravage myself, in the middle of the shops. I have spent many years trying many perfumes, you spray it on and walk out the door never giving it a second thought. But this perfume stays with you all day, it slaps you in the face and makes you give it a second thought, and a third, and on and on all day. I can't recommend this perfume/experience enough. Just try it and you will understand.

Notes: Osmanthus, Honeysuckle, Green Tea. This is about as basic as a fragrance gets. Normally, I’m all about complex fragrances, so I was curious to see if I would still enjoy it. I definitely did. This is the most nectared sweet florals in a fragrance I’ve encountered. Honeyed, fruity and just lovely. Nothing indolic at all. The green tea just sits in the background...as Ms. Reinthal describes in her write-up, it imparts a cooling, green effect. This stays pretty linear, but towards the end of the wear, the nectared sweetness tones down and the almost woodiness of the green tea amplifies. The performance was great, as all of them have been thus far. Much like Arjuna, it smelled like a fresh bouquet of flowers right under your nose. Excellent.

No exaggeration, this is one of the most beautiful perfumes I’ve ever smelled. Only three notes: honeysuckle, osmanthus and tea. The effect is wonderful. A dense, honeyed, slightly woody apricot breeze. Totally unisex as it smells clean, bright and fresh. It’s also packing a sillage and longevity punch. Huge thumbs up from me.

Oh and ignore the “dislike” votes against this brand. There are some petty individuals here in Australia voting dislike for all Teone’s perfumes. These are really nice fragrances

Sampling this and I love it! It reminds me of a lost favorite fragrance Miso Pretty I had back in the early 2000s. Obviously its more sophisticated & beautiful.

This is my favourite perfume to put me in a summery, happy mood! It's uplifting and reminds me of a tropical holiday.

I have the 2020 Dragonboat Version (Osmanthus, Honeysuckle, white tea and white Lotus). Let me start by saying that this is an addictive perfume. The opening is very refreshing and joyful, green and humid. Then it dries down to a splendid, serene concoction that somehow makes you feel very peaceful. I don't usually like the notes here, but the blend is very nice, perfect for summery weather.

I'm enjoying this a lot. I am not sure which version I have as I received a sample from a friend. According to the TRNP website, "Dragonboat (2018) was a slight variation on the original, I included frangipani and jasmine grandiflorum to increase the floralcy. It sold out completely... Dragonboat 2020 (Fragrant Harbour 香港) features osmanthus, honeysuckle, white tea and white lotus." I think what is on my skin is quite markedly floral. However there is a sharpness in this that I love, almost like fuzzy mimosa with a accents of greenness and woodiness, and a smooth softness that reminds me of violets. It's not distinctly presenting itself as 2018 or 2020, but perhaps a hint of apricot so maybe osmanthus. Also slightly waxy, like a floral candle. Yes, a clean but rich floral candle crackling with a wood wick. I quite like it!

This is a rather linear composition featuring lots of tea notes and osmanthus. Great if you like these two notes. But somewhat boring if you're looking for a perfume to engage you. A refreshing summer scent that's non-committal and effortless to wear. I can see this coming in useful on days you just wanna rest your nose. I do appreciate a simple and nice-smelling fragrance once in a while. Reviewers below seem to really like it though. Definitely sample if you're a lover of tea and osmanthus. For me, this might work as an uber luxurious room spray!

So so addictive. I am relishing my sample, I wore this to not one but two outdoor socials this weekend, it is the perfect end of summer outdoor scent you kind of blend in with the greenery and exotic florals. Unfortunately the wasps seemed to love it too got chased around by two! Might have been the delicious picnic food but I reckon it was Dragonboat. ** Sample swap! UK - get in touch **
