top notes: fig, milk, and citrus. a refreshing open, accords of sun pirouette in the air. the earthiness of fig gently tugs you down to the dirt, urging you to dig your feet in, plant yourself in the pure essence of being. something smooth, powdery, organically sweet: milk drops clinging to your skin, rolling down your wrist and into your lap. a comforting, almost animalistic spoor. finally, the citrus— a bright, tangy punch fighting its way through rain-wash and visiting the surface, a reminder of light nearly lost, like tears in the rain. middle notes: sea, orange blossom, and anise. rather than crashing, waves melt over your body in a tight, salted embrace. you briefly catch oceanic winds passing by, carrying pointed, white petals that sink into your hair, painting strands with pollen and orange juice. then, fleetingly: warmth, spice, fruitiness, complexity. a candied herbaceousness leaving the brain straining to understand. base notes: musk, nougat, tarte tropézienne. returning to the animalistic, reaching up to the surface to nourish itself on lactonics. enveloping the tart, atmospheric sunniness and pulling everything down to the earth, splayed limbs on moss and hands searching through warm grass. gently cradling you skin-to-skin in a sensual, intimate, primal grasp. sweet cream cuts through and coats your tongue, a palate cleanser introducing toasted praline and hazelnut; it’s almost familiar, coaxing forward memories of dwindling fireplaces and italian bakeries. you bite into ambrosial, pillowed layers, pearls of sugar hugging your teeth and fingers. a brief glimpse of the citrus motif, yet its diluted quality layers mystery on the shining wash. everything wrapping back around, reaching into itself. I was in search of something that I could layer with my diptyque philosykos edp, so I decided to give this one a shot - and it was sooo worth it! It opens super green, which I initially was thrown off by. I prefer philosykos edp over the edt because of its creaminess, so I didn't want anything that was more fig tree than fig. But it dries down to the creamiest, richest fig. The milk note does come forward quite a bit, but not too heavy or cloying - it's just right for summer! It's kind of like having the tastiest fig dessert after a beach day. I saw some people say the longevity wasn't great, but for me it lasted on my wrists even after taking a bath? I was super surprised, maybe it just sticks to my skin incredibly well. I kept catching wiffs of it all throughout the day, so the sillage is really great. Anyway, love this, will definitely wear this all summer.

I love this and the evolution of the scent. For me it opens as citrus, then I get a very strong marine note, almost like seaweed. Now this is my favorite part, because it really gives a realistic feeling of standing on the beach in the morning and taking a deep breath. It then turns sweet and subtle gourmand, but Im still getting hints of the other notes which cut through from time to time, making it really interesting and addictive. What I also love about Versatile Paris is the form of extrait, it is the perfect travel size and it lasts a whole day on my skin.

feels like salty, sandy skin that’s been baking in the sun all day. you can still smell a hint of sunscreen, but most of it has been washed off by the ocean. i get more warmth and creaminess than greenness. sweet but not overly so. as it dries i can detect some anise in the background which i don’t think i’ve smelled in a fragrance before! doesn’t project very far off the skin but really addicting to sniff. really tempted by the rollerball even though it’s not my first choice of delivery system.

I've never actually been physically turned on by a fragrance before this... It smells like lying on the bed on holidays in the south of france - your beautiful girlfriend is standing naked by an open window in some kind of gauzy floaty gown - the afternoon sun is kissing the windowsill, a warm salty summer breeze blowing through the masses of jasmine outside - the smell of salt just kissing the clean white linen bedsheets you're about to sink into together - i can not get enough of this

A very pleasant surprise, i'm not into sweet things but this one hit the spot. I'm from the south of France and it embodies its best parts. The ripe summer fig, the creamy tropezienne (a brioche stuffed with a blend of whipped cream and butter cream, completely decadent) and the aromatics from the anise, which clearly evokes pastis (southern digestive) The whole thing make it really addictive, and i will wear it with delight when i will go south during the holidays

I love this scent on me. My skin tends to make gourmand scents acrid, but the salt and green of the citruses perfectly counteracts this. During the dry down, the milk musk and fig really shine through, making the scent slightly less fresh but more suitable for the late afternoon/early summer evening. I adore this perfume, and its format makes it the perfect summer staple!! I’m so excited to wear it

This. It's like a mix of Philosykos and Une Pistache. My favorite out of the discovery set, or should I say the one I feel resembles something I could wear or pull off the most personally. But honestly, their entire collection is worth a sample. They've got an incredible lineup and I'm so happy to have found them. Fun fact, Brigitte Bardot made the Tropézienne famous!

Starts of very sharp, green, metalic, marine, unusual but intriguing and inviting. Dries down to more softer green-flower-marine scent. Absolutely beautiful and unique, refreshing, perfect for warmer days. Sillage is good, longetivity could be better. Still, very beautiful, completely unisex perfume.

A fresh, sweet summer day that has left me drinking my skin. Makes me feel like a princess frolicking through the sand barefoot. It's exciting, a scent that prompts interest and intrigue, definitely unique in a wonderful way.

Soft and sweet beach breeze in a bottle. I always get loads of compliments wearing this. A delicate scent that layers surprisingly well with the scent of my summer sunscreen.

A warm lactonic scent. A little dose of fig and a very nutty experience. 8/10.

Sampling Versatile Paris Sea, Sud & Sun, my final try from their current catalogue and discovery set. It has the makings of a fresh, green fig scent with aquatic touches, very similar in that construction to Dior Balade Sauvage (of the Privee collection, allegedly slated for discontinuation in the US market), so a nice alternative to the Dior, but not quite as accessible, a little quirkier with a little more of an animalic marine vibe, pivoting away from the citrus and fig a bit, albeit with a similar list of aspects. It’s very nicely done, though, and some who like Balade Sauvage may very well prefer this, and I’d recommend that everyone check it out anyway as it’s a neat concept that I enjoy more than I would’ve expected (prior to smelling Balade Sauvage)---figgy, green, aquatic. Like the rest of the line, this is priced at $55 for 15ml in extrait concentration, with rollerball application, sold via boutiques like Ministry of Scent, from which I bought the discovery set. 7 out of 10

This is such an intriguing line of fragrances; I was underwhelmed by the ones I expected to adore (still nothing I dislike, though), and absolutely fell for a couple that I thought I'd pass on. This one is sadly in the former camp. This is the original fragrance that drew me to explore this house's offerings in the first place, hoping to get that slight spicy, anis-y lactonic scent that sounded so interesting combined with the marine and fruity notes. Well, on my skin, it's all citrus, sea, salt, and nothing else whatsoever. (So much salt I started typing sal, sud & sun into the search bar lol) No milk, no anise, nothing to interest. It's still a pleasant scent, and I might at some point use up my sample, but it's quite linear and nice in a hygiene product kind of way, not what I'm usually looking for in a fragrance.

Initial wafts of realistic lemon and sea salt. I’m usually not a fan of either one as this combo usually results in a lemon pledge smell with my chemistry. Not this; It floats and lasts all day almost as fresh as if just applied. But then the musk and slightly lactonic undertones buoy this fragrance to another dimension. One where it’s a warm afternoon in Monte Rosa, after a swim, on the terrace overlooking the sea, sipping ice cold limoncello in the shade of a fig tree. Add to this the splendid feeling of the compliments I unfailingly receive when wearing Sea, Sud & Sun? -Well, it’s an absolute pleasure to wear this fragrance.

Versatile Paris Discovery Kit 3/7 Sea, Sud, and Sun | My favorite of the sampler set so far! It isn’t listed, but this sits squarely between a fig and neroli type scent. Maybe it’s the citrus and orange blossom that cuts the sweetness of the fig and makes it feel so fresh? In all honesty, I’m not a fan of anise, but it helps to lift the fig and give it some shape. I’m not able to pick up the rest of the notes, but it certainly has the most strength and longevity compared to the other oils from Versatile I’ve tried so far. I actually kept re-applying throughout the day because I enjoyed it so much :)

Opening is green, think fresh green vegetables. Then luckily the anis note cuts through and makes it more interesting... I can also detect sea salt and this combination, even though it sounds weird, smells really good and addictive. If it would last longer!! Pretty quickly it settles down to shy gourmand... This reminds me of seaside only during early morning hours while there's still some coolness from the night. Fresh yes, salty yes, sunny not really... Edit: Tested few times and dry down reminds me of palo santo wood. Definitely unexpected perfume experience.

I ordered just two decant samples from this brand, this being one of them. This reminded me a bit of DS&Durga Debaser a bit, with it's fig and milk notes. However Debaser is much sweeter and more coconutty, while this fragrance is sweet but it's tempered with aquatic floral notes. It's a really fresh, airy, sweet, green, creamy, summer scent. I was also surprised by the consistency of the Versatile Paris decants I received.. They seemed to be more oil based and I did notice that the longevity on this is quite good.
