Golden Fog

Update: Applied roughly 7 sprays and this is projecting beautifully. It's been a few hours now and it is still blasting off my skin. The scent is getting softer and more powdery after a few hours but in a good way. Almost like sweet is going down and powder is going up. This fragrance has a milk chocolate fruity vibe going on. It is not deep and dark. It is bright and fruity and has feminine notes but isn’t overpowering feminine. It projects loud. As soon as I sprayed it on and for the first hour I could smell it, and it smelt amazing. Unfortunately, I had removed from skin after the first hour due to showering. It is not annoying. It is one of those fragrances that is loud but in a good way.

Pleasantly surprised. I'd never been in a Zara before, but when I went to sample all the men's fragrances this was the only one that really stood out to me as something different. It's got this sort of peachy orange blossom atop a buffed black saffronic leather. It's plasticky in a way I like, not quite resinous, not quite cheap, more of an interesting synthetic. Quite linear. I wish it had better longevity and sillage, but it's inexpensive enough to dump all over you, at which point it holds up alright. The cap is garbage, but it is magnetic and covers a commendably good pressurized atomizer. I'd love to upgrade to a higher quality version of this once I'm through it.

Wow this is a banger. Will be wearing this a lot in the fall and winter. Especially at night. In the unisex era I appreciate a strong masculine gem

This is a fantastic perfume, the sharp high citrus opening over the strong leather. The name/title is spot on.

In my local Zara in London they have a large fragrance display area where they had all of their men’s releases from the last few years. Spent a while trying them all. Some were alright, some were just toilet cleaner, but this one. I don’t know, it caught me off guard. I was in a streak of about 5-6 that I thought were terrible and I breezed over this one. I ended up stopping and going back to it. It’s really nice. Citrusy but not sharp, more fruity and refined, I don’t get much of the saffron if I’m honest but I’m not too familiar with the note so it’s probably just me. The leather is really nicely done though. Very wearable and blends excellently with the citrus top notes. Ended up buying a bottle. And for the price it’s kind of a no brained. I’ve had it for around a month now and the performance has improved slightly. Still not what I’d call “strong performance” but you’ll get a few good hours if you spray it enough - 6-8 sprays was the sweet spot for me but that’s subjective. Have had compliments on it from girls at my university. Feels like it strikes the balance between smelling young but with some masculine edge to it. (I’m 21 btw but I look older) anyway, to conclude I think this is excellent for men of any age really, or women too I guess, as it’s not in your face masculine by any means. But for the money is a safe compliment puller that will last as long as it needs to, plus you don’t feel bad about te-applying because of the price

I bought this on the spot but on reflection I don't really like this, its quite interesting but I cant get over how synthetic it smells its quite headachey.

Well Zara, out of the 4 of this collection this one and Red Eclipse stand out the most. I love Golden Fog a lot that I bought a back up and I'm glad I did as it is not available any more on Zara's site nor in the store. Zara"s description of this "Eau de parfum : A luminous and rich fragrance. The citrus notes of bergamot and mandarin blend with the spicy touch of saffron and the intensity of black leather, leaving a refined and long-lasting impression. " Indeed, the opening is quite fresh-ish as the mandarin tones down the bergamot a lot and very quickly the saffron and leather comes through and it stays in those mid notes for some time to morph into this soft leather/saffron scent. It's good, really good and for a Zara quite long lasting and projecting .

A subtle gasoline-like type of leather, in the veins of Gucci Guilty Absolute or even the refered Falcon Leather, without the roughness or the animalic part. A good amount of sweetness and some citric tinges that last a good while, making it an interesting wear for the most part. Not the most durable scent but for the price, I think is worth it if you are looking for a wearable version of some rough leather.

Oddly this smells more interesting up close than it does in the air where it smells decidedly low budget to me. I dont get many of the comparisons to be honest (not Falcon Leather, not AdP Leather), its more of a cola and coffee thing with a straightforward saddle leather, but doesnt work as good as that sounds. Strong performance in the first hour then close to skin.

There's also a fragrance in this same line from Zara that has a blue bottle and is called Blue Zenith that's not listed on Fragrantica. That one smells vaguelly like Le Male Essence or CH Men Prive. Not a blue scent at all despite the name and bottle. Edit: 3 months later it's now listed

Amazing smell. this combination is fire. Tried a lot of expensive parfumes and also arabic parfumes but nothing came close to this special smell. I hope it's not a limited edition. I will get another botle just to have it.

It s really good. In the same veine as neroli nasimba from crivelli . Really airy and original. Could have been a niche one. Citrusy saffron and suede leather. For the price go! You will smell unique and seductive

Probably like 3 people in the world know about this perfume. Nothing too crazy, simple citrus and leather scent, but it is pretty nice. Got it for free so genuinely can't complain at all.
