Daiman Eclipse

First off PLEASE Follow me on TikTok, Instagram & YT @novascentz for a bunch of reviews on many different Scents for Men and Women. This is such a FANTASTIC Scent! It’s such an Elegant Scent profile done to perfection! I barely got it today so I’ll have to give it some time to sit and use it for work. I work in Construction and I get dirty. Some days it’s Cold some days it’s crazy Hot here in San Diego Cali so to me what a better way than to Test all my Fragrances out. I will come back with a full on review because remember I just got it so I’ll come back and let you guys know what I get on MY SKIN. Performance, Longevity etc but Presentation is DEFINITELY 10/10. Such a Luxurious Presentation I love it and it was super affordable too!

A clone of Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gio Elixir that started out somewhat far away in early May but is now pretty close to the profile it is inspired by. The opening is a sunny dose of waking up in the form of bergamot, mandarin, and a spicy nutmeg. The heart brings in a nice powdery violet and an uplifting musk. The base is pretty great with a lovely labdanum and patchouli earthiness. It comes across as a lot more expensive, which is how I perceive Elixir as well. I'm getting roughly 6 hours with this so I think it's better suited as SOTD/SOTA than strictly gym use; I think it would dress up exceptionally well.

I havent smelled ADG Elixir so I can't compare. This is a very classy, high quality scent. From the first spray, you get the typicall ADG dna : fresh, aquatic but with an added ozonic/violet leaf ( no petrol vibe) In the dry down, you get that : fresh, aquatic/ozonic dna from the start but with an added leather/labdanum and a very faint earthy patchouli making it very classy. Imagine 85% Acqua Di Gio Profumo mixed with 15% Dior Fahrenheit. No harsh opening, very smooth. All year round smell and absolutely signature scent worthy. Longevity not that great, I get 5h. Blind buy safe in my opinion.

Quick notes: I love ADG but I always wanted the scent to be stronger; Zimaya accomplishes that with eclipse. It's been ten hours plus with the intensity tapering off at about six hours into my wear. Twelve hours in, I it weaker but I get the base and mid notes only. Unbelievable price point.

Not going to beat around the bush, this is a banger. I would highly recommend it as its accuracy to the original is an about 95%. Most Zimayas I’ve purchased so far have been trashcan worthy but this one deserves a spot near the top of the shelf!

Couldn't wear this to the gym cause it smells so professional. But its a freshie. My mind is boggled and happy at the same time. Great job Zimaya. Freshie with depth

Its honestly fantastic, might have to spray 8-10 times but for 30 bucks Its a no brainer.

Smells good. To me, it’s a sweeter take on ADG Elixir. Unfortunately, the performance is on the weak side for now, about 2–3 hours. That’s something I’ve noticed with most of the Zimaya line, they smell good, but the performance is low.

I like it. I have had sample of the OG, but this is not yet there. Of course it was the first spray so maybe it will change during time. Warmer weather scent that has depth.

I loved the smell of ADG when I was a kid, but as I grew older, I got very tired of the DNA. I've also never owned any of them. I recently decided that I should give the modern ones a fair shot and tried a few in store. I liked the Elixir and the Profondo. I usually don't blind buy, but after seeing the reviews and this seeing this listed for $29 shipped on Amazon, I grabbed it. It opens nicely with an almost fruity ozonic violet note blended well with citrus and spice of nutmeg. I absolutely love the opening and it smelled great even from a freshly opened bottle. I wish the opening lasted longer. The fragrance enters the dry down very quickly; musk and aldehydes start to develop. I definitely get some vetiver here giving it a dryness that overlaps with the nutmeg almost giving an impression of Irish Spring soap. There is a whisper of patchouli in the background, a bit of ambroxan as well. I am not getting any labdanum, but it's possible that it will develop over time. I'm also picking up some elemi/olibanum here in the background, giving it a hint of that frankincense vibe I caught in Dior Homme Sport 2021. I have heard Profumo had frankincense in it. I don't think I ever tried that one, but I'm 100% detecting it here. It's not bad, definitely not my worst blind buy. It smells like an overly masculine soap to me, definitely reminds me of "Man's Cologne®" from my childhood. When I smell this, it reminds me a lot of the way that YSL l'Homme Libre came across, not the exact scent profile, but similar vibes. I have only worn it a couple of times, so I will definitely need some more time with it to fully understand it and to give it a rating.

Comparison to ADG Profumo/Profundo Exlir. The overall effect is the same idea: fresh Mediterranean air over a darker woody base. Where Daiman Eclipse differs: No Incense. Profumo’s signature is its smoky incense note. Daiman Eclipse replaces that smoky mineral effect with: * Violet leaf * Labdanum * Amber * Musk As a result, Eclipse feels smoother and less “church incense” or volcanic-rock-like. There is a slight Dior Fahrenheit / DH Parfum twist, which is what I detected when I first sampled it on skin - the violet, patchouli and the slight leathery facet from the labdanum. Not enough to smell like Dior Fahrenheit, but enough to introduce a subtle green-metallic masculinity. Eclipse’s dry down is slightly softer, warmer, and more resinous. Overall, Daiman Eclipse gives me fresh sea breeze over warm ambered driftwood, which is smoother and easier to wear. For people who enjoys * Cartier Santos Pour Homme (aromatic masculine structure) * Jean Lowe Vibe (fresh modern lift) * Montana Parfum Pour Homme (classic masculine backbone) * Dior Eau Savage Parfum * Loewe Pour Homme / Esencia * BDC Parfum This would not be redundant. It gives you the ADG fresh-aquatic territory without being as sheer or airy as Profondo and without the heavier incense signature of Profumo.

I've tried both the Elixer and this. They are super close. Fresh out of the shower scent. Can be used daily or for special occasions.
