Huile de Silence

I bought this for my wife at Frank Shop in Winter Park, Florida and she absolutely loves it. Scored big points. So I went back and bought all of them. Amazing unique fragrances.

Discovered this brand in the very cool concept store Ariosto Social Club in Milan, Italy. Feels like it's raining white flower petals, what more could one want?

Huile de Silence (Oil of Silence, in English) is one of the five fragrances launched by the Baron Bishop brand, in 2021. The concept behind the fragrance tells the story of the Liberty style architecture, which would be the Italian variant of Art Nouveau, which flourished between 1890 and 1914. It was also known as stile floreale, arte nuova or stile moderno. It was the basis for the Quadrilatero del Silenzio (Il Quartiere del Silenzio) in Milan. Hence, the name of the perfume. The fragrance of Huile de Silence is classified as floral, it was created by Fabrice Pellegrin and combines notes of bergamot and jasmine, at the top; Tuberose and gardenia, in the body; Cedar and sandalwood, in the base. It is important to remember that Perfumed Oils end up having a typical behavior of lower projection and their durability is directly linked to the texture of the skin and how it will absorb the oil. However, Huile de Silence is an exception to the rule and exudes strongly from the moment it is applied to the skin. And it couldn't be different, because the bouquet of jasmine, tuberose, and gardenia is not easy to be tamed in any fragrance, to be honest. Of course, there is also that first oily impact, but quickly the floral fragrance explodes, and the gardenia brings lightness and refinement. Huile de Silence enhances the jasmine and gardenia notes and tries to tame the more pungent side of tuberose, which is carnal and more dominant. And it achieves that goal! At this point, it is already clear to me that Baron Bishop decided to launch its first collection bringing fragrances that represent the main olfactory families. This one is floral, and the others represent the Oriental, Citrus, Aromatic, and Woody families. That said, Huile de Silence does not reinvent the wheel. And the truth is, it doesn't have to reinvent it; just keep it spinning. And this is, precisely, one of the biggest mistakes that customers make in relation to Haute Parfumerie nowadays, because they believe that companies should bring compositions never created before. In practice, this is not only difficult but risky. First, the brand needs to be consolidated and sales need to be profitable. Only then, the company will think of a more innovative launch. Huile de Silence is a beautiful floral, similar to countless others on the market. The biggest difference, in my opinion, is that the result was not too milky or powdery. It is perfect for those who like white bouquets, with a luminous appearance and a touch of sophistication. Is it 100% unisex? Many men will say no! But, as I wrote in my review for Archetype, Baron Bishop's fragrances were made for those who already know the Niche segment and, above all, have experience with Perfumes in Oil. That is, people who usually have a considerable collection of fragrances or who have already tried everything within this universe. And this type of consumer doesn't usually give credit to commercial gender classifications. Huile de Silence is a bouquet of white flowers that you can carry in your pocket and turn any autumn day into a beautiful spring afternoon.
