Tempo Rubato

Tempo Rubato, along with Sonder, are my 2 favorite Baron Bishop perfume oils. I even roll it on before bed, its so relaxing and poetic. Love it!!!

Natalie Lorson the genius... smelled this one at Mazzolari in Milano. Delicate composition, a play between vanilla and woods. 5/5.

Not too sweet, not too woody. Love to layer this with my Penhaligon's Babylon.

Tempo Rubato (Stolen Time, in English) is one of the five fragrances launched by the Baron Bishop brand, created in 2021. The concept behind the fragrance speaks of the time of a piece dedicated to the soloist or the conductor when the interpreter "steals" some of the time on some notes and makes up for it on others. Tempo Rubato – or just Rubato – was used frequently in Romanticism and is common in piano music. The name's connection with the Baron Bishop's Milano Collection is related to the Dal Verme Theater, a stage of numerous symphonies in Milan. Tempo Rubato's fragrance is classified as woody, it was created by Nathalie Lorson and combines notes of nutmeg and cypriol, at the top; Cedar and sandalwood, in the body; Vanilla and guaiac wood in the base. And even though it is a Perfume Oil that usually reveals a little of the scent of its base right at the moment of application - here, the Safflower Oil -, Tempo Rubato exudes immediately and disguises any oily or moldy trace as it is bottled. Like Huile de Silence, it is an exception to the rule. On the skin, Tempo Rubato brings the well-known signature of Nathalie Lorson to fragrances of woody, spicy, and ambery paths. The start is woody and warm, with a lot of nutmeg presence and a beautiful vanilla effect. Sandalwood is milky, creamy, and dense, working as a fixative that guarantees a persistent and more robust durability. Here, Tempo Rubato proves to be the most Arab of the five Italian perfumes of this brand. And it gets even better when evolution reaches the apex of creaminess, with its cozy vanilla, which rests on a decorative piece, a kind of a center table built with a dark guaiac wood, carved and polished to perfection. The woody content of Tempo Rubato grows, as it evolves on the skin, and reveals itself to be slightly smoky, creamy, and sweet. It's the kind of fragrance that makes people around you think of pieces of myrrh burning over smoldering coal. In commercial terms, Tempo Rubato has that Niche Perfumery DNA that all brands explore and most consumers love. On my skin, it's the fragrance that exudes the most and the one that attracts me the most, although it doesn't bring innovation to my nose. Tempo Rubato is that kind of perfume that deserves a special bottle with 100ml of its delicious scented oil. Bravo!
